@machngunjoe The purpose for everyone to carry guns is to keep the government at bay. To defend against tyranny. That was the purpose of the Amendment. But it also says "shall not be infringed on." That in my opinion means that the right should never be taken away. But states can regulate and apply laws to them such as "criminal records void the right."
The 3rd is not really dated. In worst case scenario, the government cannot place military in your house in times of tyranny.

Libertarians recognize that people are better at different things, have different talents, they are all very different, and so it is important to let them specialize in what they want to do. It is a free market, where every one can provide fruits of ones skills to the benefits of others. It is certainly not an idea of isolationism, it is an idea of cooperation in freedom.

@machngunjoe Mine is not a definition, mine is a one aspect of it (at least as I understand it). Corruption may be prevalent only in the controlled experiment of the central planning. If there is no public money to spend, there is no incentive to bribe anyone for this money. If someone bribes a politician to give him a privilege, then he steals money from you, but if someone gives you a bribe to give away your own good, there is no corruption, there is a transaction.
@machngunjoe Oh, and there is really very little of the free market today anywhere in the world. We've seen it in the Honk Kong for a time and in the USA in the 18th and maybe in the UK during the industrial revolution (population doubled over this period of time) (China?). If you are honestly interested in this subject I recommend you a book by Murray Rothbard titled "The Mystery of Banking". He is much smarter than me and you can learn much more from him than from me.

Ron Paul is the MAN, but the way things stand, he will probably only ensure Obama's re-election by splitting the Republican vote (like Ross Perot). Long live Ron Paul. Take back America, the real America, the way it used to be before 1913, the confiscatory taxes, the serial foreign wars (to enrich the Rich), and the bloodsucking Federal Reserve bankers.

The number one reason it's impossible for Ron Paul to become POTUS is his views on Israel. Just like his dislike of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, RP's view that Israel should take care of itself, while, yes, having an odd logic to it, just doesn't make sense to non-Ronbots. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects people from discrimination. Our support of Israel helps protect it from being destroyed by its enemies. The first Ronbot who talked to me at a Ron Paul event mentioned ZOG. She was nuts!

@Tov0voT Dr. Paul doesnt have negitive views toward Israel. Dr. Paul feels we should not be providing aid to any country. Israel just happens to be one of those countries so of course that make him anti-semite. That of course is BS as Dr. Paul understands that in order to give money to any country, we either have to borrow or print it, and that is what is going to bankrupt ruin this great country. Commerce with all Alliance with none. I am also no bot...I am an Obama convert.

I like the sentiment of this video but Ron Paul is unelectable, we can't just magically go back to the 1800's or 1700's. How many Agencies does he want to eliminate? 5 or 6 now? His "Supporters" are usually the people that claim they're Constitutionalists. And a great number of those haven't even read the constitution and all its amendments. The Morton Downey Jr. clips show me an unnerved politician, nothing more.

@Core1138 Ya I have. The 3rd is so obviously out-dated. And I'm sure you'll disagree but the 2nd amendment is also dated. I mean "A well regulated Militia".... hmmm I like the word 'Regulated' exactly what most conservatives think we need less of. I have always been confused on how some people can honestly think, everyone carrying guns, is a good idea. And the first sentence of the 1st amendment is also my favorite. Christians screaming that this is a Christian country should read it.

@machngunjoe The purpose for everyone to carry guns is to keep the government at bay. To defend against tyranny. That was the purpose of the Amendment. But it also says "shall not be infringed on." That in my opinion means that the right should never be taken away. But states can regulate and apply laws to them such as "criminal records void the right."
The 3rd is not really dated. In worst case scenario, the government cannot place military in your house in times of tyranny.

@crazyjek762 You mean the big bad evil government, Defend against tyranny? Its not 1776. Since when has a militia been relevant in America? Not since the Revolutionary War. Troops staying peoples houses hasn't been a problem since 1791. All the Libertarians are the same, thinking life would be simpler If we could just go back to a hunter/gatherer society, every man for himself, etc. Half the Ron Paul/libertarian supporters use gov't assistance anyways, "oh but the government is bad".

@machngunjoe I don't believe you understand libertarianism. I judge it by the hunter/gatherer argument. Libertarians recognize that people are better at different things, have different talents, they are all very different, and so it is important to let them specialize in what they want to do. It is a free market, where every one can provide fruits of ones skills to the benefits of others. It is certainly not an idea of isolationism, it is an idea of cooperation in freedom.

@zbyszanna your definition is the loosest I have seen. We have a society that has government entrenched, all modern societies do. Say good-bye to regulations and say hello to even more corruption, say good -bye to all social and health safety nets. Letting the free market fix our problems? oh ya because it has done wonders so far. It is such a ridiculous political theory. Keep government out and somehow everything will fix itself. suuuuuuure.

@machngunjoe Mine is not a definition, mine is a one aspect of it (at least as I understand it). Corruption may be prevalent only in the controlled experiment of the central planning. If there is no public money to spend, there is no incentive to bribe anyone for this money. If someone bribes a politician to give him a privilege, then he steals money from you, but if someone gives you a bribe to give away your own good, there is no corruption, there is a transaction.

@machngunjoe Oh, and there is really very little of the free market today anywhere in the world. We've seen it in the Honk Kong for a time and in the USA in the 18th and maybe in the UK during the industrial revolution (population doubled over this period of time) (China?). If you are honestly interested in this subject I recommend you a book by Murray Rothbard titled "The Mystery of Banking". He is much smarter than me and you can learn much more from him than from me.
