Shall we talk of Abebe Bikila as a legend of all times sports and as the athlete-symbol of 1960 Olympics ?? Because that's the way we are supposed to comment this moving video : the greatest marathon runner triumphing in the most beautiful marathon of all times .
You can't find anything similar reaching such greatness , with exclusion of
Jesse Owens at Berlin 1936 !

Between 3:42 and 3: 48 you can see that they turn on the right..in that moment they're taking the Appian Way, but nowadays that same stretch of the ancient road fortunately had come back to life...as you might notice the Great Ring Way of Rome crossed and cutted the Appian Way.. today it goes underneath threw a tunnel, leaving the chance to go straight the all way... I train there, on my beloved Appian Way, on our beloved Appian Way, my great Abebe...once we'll win again!!!

well, honestly speaking he is definitely one of the greatest runner of all time however haile g/selassie is the greatest runner of all time. i still respect ur opinion tho. im a runner myself and i consider haile as a living legend and the greatest long distance runner in our plant. he is a beast.

Absolutely. He is the only one I know to win an important marathon race on his bare feet. In 1964 he repeated his victory - in shoes of course. Cierpinsky is the second double gold medalist of all time. But both times in shoes. :)
