Hi buddy. I bought the same machine, about 2 weeks ago. This is my first machine, but I feel frustrated cause I couldn't make a perfect shot yet. I have just a very thin, light-coloured crema. I didn't buy a nice tamper yet, neither a grinder. Do you think it could help me getting a nice crema? May it be the problem? I'm still using the plastic tamper which came with the machine.
Grinders are considered more important than the espresso machine. I am assuming that you're using preground stuff? If so, they will not be fresh. You want to use freshly ground espresso by a good burr grinder if you want good shots with nice crema.
Cheap coffee you say? that crema looked pretty damn amazeing for being some cheap coffee.Bravo!.
