The Court Jester is used as a sacrificial Christ symbol in this scene, in fact the entire scene since the beginning of the Lord of the Dance shows demonstrates the initiation process when one becomes a Mason or an Illuminati member.

@feuille2niggle I wish I was, but I recognize the initiation rights of the Freemasons in this particular scene. The blood sacrifice to the night and the resurrection involving the new rising sun (Flatley's character) and the destruction of the darkness (Dorcha). The Court Jester is an ancient shamanic figure that represents the "old ways" that must be discarded, while a new source of knowledge (illumination) must take its place.
