Kavakos has the utmost respect for beethoven. The slurs are editorial, but are done so often traditionally that people regard them as being original. He knows more about this piece than you would EVER know....shame on you for freely criticizing in your anonymity. You should do some homework geraldopus. Maybe put a video of yourself playing the Beethoven concerto on youtube....we'd all like to see it.
that makes sense to me...hes saying the slurs are unoriginal and have been placed there by editors. kavakos is so well versed in the making of this piece that he plays it originally and without these now traditionally played added markings

Πόσο καιρό είχανε μεταξύ τους διαφορά οι εκτελέσεις ; Ο άνθρωπος περνάει φάσεις σωματικές και ψυχικές .
Επίσης ,
1. είσαι σίγουρος ότι είχε χρόνο για να το "ξεσκονίσει" ;
2. πώς μπορείς να απαιτείς "πάντα το ίδιο" από έναν που δεν ανήκει σε κάποια ρωσική σχολή αλλά μεγάλωσε στην Ελλάδα ;
O Mένουχιν από την εφηβεία του μέχρι τα γεράματα είχε αλλάξει πολύ και πολλές φορές. Δεν είναι ρομπότ !

the beginning of this is originally slurred.
no idea why he would change the original bowing. it doesn't even sound good.
too many accents on 0:32-0:38.
again, 1:37 he plays the originally slurred passage, separately. no sense whatsoever.
on 4:31 Beethoven didn't write pp. there is only crescendo from the previous dynamic. no subito piano or whatever this dude does.
when playing Beethoven one should at least respect the original.
sudden outburst of dynamic on 9:31 with a Sforzando on top!WHY?
