@thomasmulhall Actually, there's a newer version: 9. :) Since you didn't take the time to read when this video was made, I'll spell it out for ya: Jun 25th, 2007.
I think it's hilarious that ppl still think I was promoting IE7. Do they even require WGA validation for it anymore? This was just a spinoff of someone else's discovery that Wine under Linux passed the alternate WGA test. The only thing I did was figure out how to get to the download link from Firefox in Linux by changing user-agents (not much of a hack really.) I just thought it was funny.
yeah, It's quite obviously ubuntu, anyone who has used it for a bit would be able to easily tell. Only problem I have ever had with ies4linux is it always seems the fonts are screwy..
look here WANNA BE HACKER if you knew at least 1 thing about hacking you would know that that is ubuntu....and you would also know that i can hack the youtube ftp login server with hydra to get your account by target your acc and with a pass list.....so stfu mother fucker
I actually use Firefox. The point wasn't because I was dying to have ie7. I was just looking for a way to hack it so it coudl be installed on a "friend's" computer because the only thing worse than ie7 is ie6! And since my "friend" does not have a valid xp license, there was the issue of that pesky WGA crap.
IE really sucks on standards support! this means if you ever need to create a web site you will do it easily following standard and ANY browser will show your web site the same but ie..
viceversa if you DON'T follow the standard and create your web site for ie nobody else will see it right ('cause it's not)!
I agree with you. However, nothing was less secure than ie6. At least Microsoft tried to implement better security with ie7. Which makes me think it is more secure than the alternative when you have to use ie (which I had to do for some stupid time clock website.)
Yeah I noticed that right after I uploaded it. I forgot to change screen size. Honestly, I didn't think I'd get many views.
Basically, I just changed my user-agent to an IE one in Firefox which gave me the URL to download (otherwise in IE4Linux I got "operating System not supported".) I just pasted that URL into my wine-enabled IE browser and the rest just works (per windows defender insctructions.) Maybe I'll post a video on this that is actually visible some day (maybe someone already has.)
how do you download files form the INTERNET like itunes or manycam (not with synaptic manager or software center) with ubuntu.

Go on believing that. I'm sure the tooth fairy exists as well.
It was actually Ubuntu Feisty with Wine installed. IE4Linux was used to install ie 6 on it.

Some ppls who don't have a valid copy of windows might like to upgrade to ie7 (more secure.)
brettm73 4 years ago
secure + microsoft = false
anyway that's not a matter of "security"
it's a matter of standards

IE is a pain in the ass for any web developer
