  • Doorbell-white stripes... very similar

  • @jhl96 exactly.

  • Tony Beliveau explained the song's meaning: "It was July 4th of July weekend and I was on a 3 day solo trek out at Yosemite, Hetch Hetchy to be exact, and I remember sitting on top of a mountain, looking out into the sun and the clouds.

  • I had this really strong feeling of security, peace, and overall serenity. I remember thinking, 'this is where I want to be when I die'. When I came home, I wrote 'Mountain Man' as an overall reflection of that weekend. It's about savoring the best moments, separating yourself from the masses to discover your personal identity, and of course some drunk girl, who hasn't quite figured out what this song really means yet."

  • This is my mofuckin jam! :)

  • this song is about alcoholism and moderation. someone is clearly getting way too hammered and he's comparing the booze that they drink all day every day to the good things they are missing. and he does it with awesome music.

  • this song is obviously about sex...

'im sittin of top of a mountain' - a gay man sitting on a penis

'shes rocking that valley down below' - the gay man sees sum (asian)chick suckin some guys pubic hair across the room.

'switch back to the peak with a blindfold' - the gay man that is taking it in the butt is blind-folded, and he wants a peek at the (asian)chick

'Straight out on a head bomb oooooh' - the chick gets an orgasm and screams 'ooooooh!!'

Id keep going but i ran out of characters

  • @eviljarrett If that's true I feel really wrong enjoying this song hahaha

  • White Stripes wouldn't have used piano in that way. It's a damn good song.

  • @bigdave74604 If you really want to convince people that you have exceptional taste in music, you should first learn to correct your grammar and spelling.

  • I'm too lazy to analyze this so what is this about?

  • I could just kick my own arse for not have hearing of this band till this evening..late night radio in Cincy no less....they dont need a new release ..they need a RE-release!!!!

  • i think they're very similar to AWOLNATION.

  • am i the only one that sees the similarities between the white stripes?

  • @kirst43

Wikipedia seems to agree with you.

  • @kirst43 OMG!! I was thinking the same thing!!

  • @kirst43 I love the Stripes, Raconteurs, all that, and I hear NO similarity. That is all.

  • @kirst43 people see simularities between the white stripes led zeppling wolfmother and the black keys too i think its annoying that everything has to be compared to them

  • @kirst43

I see the similarity, but I think it has more to do with their influences, in particular Led Zeppelin.

  • @kirst43 I thought the same lol

  • @kirst43 I could see where you get that idea as a norm, but as a musician they are quite different. If you are a musician i don't get you.

  • @kirst43

  • @kirst43 thats what i thought when i first heard this

  • 0:50

  • YESH I FOUND IT!

Mum had this song in the car, she didn't remember the fucking song's name, had to pop in the lyrics "I'm sitting on top of a mountain" and this came up.

  • Never knew the name of the band untill jus now... BUT, i love ALL of the songs i have heard from them!!! :D They officially have a new fan. :P

  • Love this song.

  • Crash Kings are perhaps the only band that originated post 2000 that I actually LIKE. I stumbled upon them by accident a few months ago, and this song is the one that turned me on to them.

  • i love how cage the elephant is in the suggestions they are one of my fav bands so are these guys :D

  • @1Alyssababe1 You too? :D Awesome!

  • 40 people dont get to sip on some sunshine, or sit on top of a mountain... XD

  • this song belongs in borderlands 2

  • @isaninja17 Completely agree. If Borderlands 2 DOESN'T have either this song or another song by Crash Kings as its theme, I'll be damn disappointed.

  • @GearHead1087 I can see how he'd say this has country roots in it...

  • I'm listening to this out loud and my younger brother's friend comes up to me and she says to me "this guy sounds like a girl."

  • OMG!!!! LADY GAGA IS IN THE FEATURED SUGGESTION AGAIN! that makes two rock songs where this has happened, why in the name of god, jesus, and the holy spirit is THAT thing doing there. Definitely not related, and will never be related to anything I watch. Hope youtube fixes the totally screwed up suggestions!

  • @flamingaxelburn God isn't real

  • @flamingaxelburn they suggest it for every song no matter what, idk why but they're pushing that song harder than a crack dealer

  • omg i cant believe how good this song is! SO FRICKIN GOOOOOOD!!!!!

  • the best thing about this song is...... there is no cocky guitarst to do a 10 minute solo.

  • @hockeyguy2100 what's wrong with solos?

  • @phweshproductions nothing is wrong with solos .... i just like how this band made a good song without having a guitarist.

  • So much pointless arguing Leave the opinions be, you may not think it but they do. Why do you have to start a whole pointless argument? People hear music in their own way. Just enjoy the tunes, not stress over what genre people say it sounds like.

  • Ugh. This song does not sound "country". It does have a lot of blues in it -- which, hey, so does country music! How about that?!

  • What I love best about Crash Kings and this song in particular is that it's only drums, a keyboard, bass and vocals.

  • Dear youtube,

Lady Gaga should never ever ever be associated with this song. Sincerely yours, The internet

  • good fuckin shit

  • reminds me of Cold war kids, great stuff <3

  • song is the shit... it may have indirectly been written about me and my old lady. So were getting married Aug. 17 2011 and this is gonna be our aisle music. i guess we are some out of this world kinda folks

  • My name is Beth.L )aka) Ashley) and My ol'man just promised me that this is gonna be the song I walk down the aisle to when we get married in Aug 17 2011 and that my friends is the Fucking shit because, I have the best man in the whole wide fucking world! and we are both nuts! but ain't that the shit?

  • Warren Miller sent me here?

  • 38 people aren't sippin on some sunshine.

  • Hello, new favorite band.

  • This is 70's funk mixed with 70's classic rock melted with modern day angst-grunge. Good stuff.

  • i made a crash kings station on pandora after listening to this song....AMAZING

  • @GearHead1087 Gross, I hope you dont go around calling everyone that, because everyone has an opinion and its not always going to be your narrow minded one.

Oh, and fyi Im a chic(:

  • @GearHead1087 I know indie rock, mr.grammer police, and this is not indie rock.

  • @aleins1exist are you smoking crack? This doesn't sound like Jack White at all.

  • @hop2101992 actually the singer does have a jack white kinda quality to him ...and no I'm not smoking crack, pot, oxys, or drinking and am mental illness free.

  • singer kinda sounds like jack white from the white stripes

  • dejalovely mentioned them so im listening to them :D

  • saw them live in October......they are even BETTER live, if you can imagine that!!!! Kudos to Crash Kings, and i wish them many more years of success and making awesome music!!

  • it's like beatles was moses and crash kings is jesus. SECOND COMING!

  • i know its not country though

  • this is alternative or rock right?

  • 35 people didnt enjoy this song so they hit the dislike button

  • @snaxlrod Lol, is that what happened?

  • @swissstuff lol ya.... its this is country, country has finally died.... and rock has taken over for good.

  • @swissstuff

how can you even think this is country? o_o

  • @SparklyyMegan cause it sucks!

  • @SparklyyMegan I thought it was rap?

  • @SparklyyMegan all rock spawns from rock n roll which spawns from country music. and this song is about a dumb bitch with a drinkin problem, sounds like a country song to me.

  • @jziplock Nope. It may have evolved from country music (which I still don't think true), but that doesn't mean it IS country music. And if you called every song which mentions people with drinking problems a country song, then I think country music would very different. Also rock is just a broad category encompassing many different types of music such as hard rock, blues-rock, folk rock, etc. Rock N' Roll is just one the first categories to be rock. So not all rock spawns from rock and roll.

  • @jziplock actually the beats and combination more relate to that of African beats. Country and rock are prectically the same when it comes to dynamics. African drums.....blues...country...rock

  • @SparklyyMegan

Who cares if it is or isn't, it's great.

  • @swissstuff You're an idiot.

  • @wagstaff11 Thanks(:

  • @swissstuff Sounds like 70s rock with strong blues influence to me...
