  • Joe always wears a hat! Lol. He's such an amazing director.

  • As a young director he's one of the most talented there is out there. The entire Cast of Atonement deserves much just praise. A wonderful movie that should've gotten more props at the Oscar. it's a shame that it didn't get it's just props.

  • IMHO James McAvoy's charm is that he so AUTHENTIC. You're right neznez...no vanity whatsoever. I really hope he stays this sweet because it is so rare and special. Oh...and of course he's drop-dead gorgeous!

  • Thank you very very much for uploading this!!!

I really liked to see it, I had found some pictures but I haven't seen the interview!!!

  • Nope. Sorry. I barely remember THAT...but I remember seeing it around the time of the Venice Film Festival and I think he ducked out of that Premiere because he didn't want the lights to come up and find him a wreck as it was only the second time he'd seen it.

  • Thanks for these Qwerty! They're fantastic!

  • Welcome!

  • Hey Qwerty,

Have you seen the one where he talks about not being able to sit through it at Venice, I think, because he would have been a mess? I've seen it once. Very emotive. Do you happen to have that one in the vault?

  • Nope, haven't seen that one. Are you sure it was a video interview? Do you remember anything else about it.. like who was interviewing him?

  • What is he saying at the end: I wasn't looking for any of that. I steel....

  • That's the only thing I feel/think.

He was talking about not noticing that there was a missing scene in the movie (it didn't pass the editing) but only after the screening someone mentuined it to him and then he started to think about that.

  • I understood most of what he said but I didn't hear the ending "That's the only thing I feel" now I hear it Thank you

    I adore his voice

  • Actually, the question is "Was there one moment that surprised you more than another?" and when he responds he's talking about how actors ALWAYS notice what's cut and question what's cut. And that questioning, it's coming from a bit of an egomaniacal/thespian place. So, when he says "During the film, I didn't notice anything was missing. I didn't notice anything gone. I wasn't looking for any of that. That's the only thing." He's saying it was so moving he was removed from it. I think.

  • He's so vulnerable when he says this. It's truly, very touching. He's owning that he does have an ego and "for the first time in his professional life" the fluidity and beauty of the work, his consciousness of the work, precluded his consciousness of his ego. That's a very vulnerable thing to own up to as an actor, in a public forum...and I think he knows this because he's so open when he says it.

  • I love how open he is as a person.. it really shows in his work. And it's probably the main reason I love watching him on screen so much.

  • OMG, Pricleless! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! (I feel like Briony afer being saved by robbie). It's like air to me! I so love this movie and hear them talk about that, I can spent the rest of my life listening to them talking about them...

I wish we could see all of those missing scences and the rehersals, I wish I could take James home and puck his brain about the work process on that movie and his thoughts and feeking about Robbie (Honest to god, AM, I'll just TALK to him, promise...
