  • Dude the movie was only a starting point for a sequel and fit almost perfect with the storyline they are working toward. The movie was focused more toward the comic book fans. the movie wasn't full of action like iron man, there was a lot more details in the hulk. It explained extremely well how the hulk was created by gamma rays.

  • The super hero serum put into Emil Blonsky, Tim Roth's character, was the same serum used on captain America in WWII which is also explained in the movie. It was a very complex movie and it takes more than one viewing to understand everything. The movie also did very well at showing that Bruce Banner did not want to be the hulk and could not control his powers. This fit well with the comics Bruce Banner did not have control of his powers for the majority of series.

  • Master: I respectfully disagree. As stated, I don't feel they clearly explain anything. If you're not already familiar w/the the old series, the film's scenes which copy the opening to explain Hulk's existence are confounding.

As for it "fitting well" w/the comics or being "focused...toward comic fans": I also disagree on those counts. A film should stand on its own, and, according to Marvel, comics fans are not their main audience (since that audience is shrinking regularly).

  • fist of all this will take multiple posts due to the 500 character count. First i must state that the "creation" of the Hulk is explained multiple times though out the film but various character. The opening scene shows what happened. Then Mr. Bue, Gen. Ross, and Banner himself talk about gamma radiation which exists in Banners body (which cause him to become the Hulk). Gen. Ross explains that he was an experiment to create the perfect solider. . next post

  • As to your statement about not fans not being their focus is false.

Bullseye murders Elektra in a fight to determine the better killer. Taking revenge, Daredevil drops Bullseye from a clothesline high above a street. (Daredevil #181)

sounds like the film does it not? and again

Director Mark Steven Johnson showed interest in returning to direct with the Born Again storyline, for teh sequal.

  • Hawk: I appreciate your enthusiasm. However, I cannot imagine how referring in any way to any "film" made by talentless hack Mark Steven Johnson is a defense to your claim. 1st, he did not make the Hulk. 2nd, you misquote me above. What I stated was that a film should stand on its own. And I no of no filmmaker who thinks otherwise no matter WHAT the source material is. -Kp

  • Yes, Hawk, they go through all of that but in a convoluted, unclear way that is understood by folks like us who have a prior knowledge of the comics and TV series. -Kp

  • lol you have no life

  • mister bobby, you should see my MAIN Hulk review!! Thx for stopping you awesome guy you. -Kp

  • duude, u look like mr. blue!! dr. sterns haha

  • You are good man...really

  • Thx, Manny! Check out the main review! -Kp

  • Well good sir... you touched on a lot of things I happen to agree with. Is it so hard reach some point of equilibrium between storytelling and action? Because it really seems to me like with this one they focused all their attention on action and didn't explore AT ALL what makes Hulk such an interesting character psychologically speaking. The Hulk is treated like a disease, not an aspect of Banner's personality. Oh, and Lou Ferrigno looks great for a guy pushing 60!

  • Yeah, Rel, I think this take was smarter -- yet less intellectual. That is, no one goes to see an action movie about a guy who's a monster b/c his dad beat him...but, with even that said, I would've liked them to slow down and give us some time w/Banner to understand WHAT changed him and how he REALLY FEELS about it. Still a fun flick. Check out my comedy version if you haven't! And, hey, NICE TO "SEE" YOU! -Kp

  • the initiative lol

  • Glad you enjoyed that, "Ben"! It's MY fave part. -Kp

  • Great review, sums up how I felt about the movie. It's a fun flick

  • Thx, solid! Be sure to check out the more comedic version on my channel page!

  • hey great review man cracked me up. I am jealous of everyone who has seen this already.

So Liv Tyler doesn't really look like a scientist who specializes in Gamma Radiation? How was the wire work? cuz I hate wire work and the one scene they threw out there which had Roth fight Hulk looked a little bad, was there any more of that?

  • Hey, Fury!

No, Liv Tyler LOOKS fine, she doesn't SOUND like a scientist. She does this high-pitched voice thing. Which is not her actual voice. So I dunno what that's about.

Wire work didn't bother me at all. Whatever you saw must've looked odd out of context, b/c in context nothing stood out (as opposed to, say, the first X-Men movie which had wire work of about the caliber of that Xena Warrior Princess show). -Kp

  • cool i'm gonna check it out
