@motodude1 clear channel/cbs bought kroq and ruined it.
i dont think that shit is more popular. i think more people would prefer billy idol type shit or hard 80s alternative with harmonies over all the boring metalcore that's out there today. it's just that these corporations have no clue and don't want any riots going on(hardcore beach punk)
What a great time to be alive! Black Flag was about to leave the safety and comfort of the South Bay and venture off down Kerouac's road. Little did we know then, huh? It was to mutate into "hardcore" and in turn "grunge" and "alternative"; hell even "thrash" and "extreme metal"!
What was punk? What did it all mean? I can promise you this much, I spent a lot of my high school and college days trying to find out! Thanks for posting the video. Brings back great memories!
I was there too . what a great time to see and hear all that raw talent comming up . back when kroq played music by local artist not this prepackaged shit they foist on us now
I have to agree and I was there too. Some of the greatest memories of my life: scooters runs through old town (when it was still a slum) and up Lake St on a hot summer night; sitting by the pool listening to KROQ on a hot smoggy day; some great parties up in the hills by Altadena; was the greatest place and will never be again
I remember knowing Nick and Walt in jr. high school. One day I walked into Walt's moms house and Nick was having sex with my friends sister while Walt was snorting coke and talking about some movie to him as if nothing was happening. They kind of scared me. Now I am fan looking back.
RF7 is playing with Circle One, Decry amd Neighborhood watch on 10-11-08 at the Vex in east L.A. the old sckool is providing a public service!!!!!3802 Cesar E. Chavez ave. east L.A. 90063.
Sorry La Harba Music that I stole that Amp from your store in 1980. I remember the first time I heard this on the radio KROQ I got in a fight at a Howard Johnson because I thought I was a punk rock star now, Am I? I guess I am, got a dollar and a beer?

Geza geez, you pilfered an amp from La Habra Music? Guess the royalties from the KROQ LP were something less than spectacular. Oh, you poor punk!
