  • god of war

  • THIS is the whip used in Dwarf Fortress

  • i used to have a primary weapon but then this guy covered in dragons blood yelled at me and i dropped it :(

  • Secondary weapon as in:

    Right hand: Scimitar

    Left hand: Whip

    Oo damn thats BRUTAL!

  • Its tough form to learn XD learning it is painful hahaha but so fun haha....

  • I've hurt myself sooo many times with my chain whip, even made myself bleed twice... fun times...&& i dont consider it a secondary weapon, nope nope, my chain whip is my #1!!! followed by my staff for #2 :D

  • I could see that sharp weight doing some nasty bruises and lacerations if you got it to skim along the victim's skin.

  • @dethkruzer no need to skim, what you are looking at is the show version, fight appropriate whips are usually longer and magnitudes heavier.

  • Wow

  • Reminds me of a flail very very hard to use. When you dont not how to wield it.

  • When you have this weapon.. its kinda hard not to blink.

  • you could prolly block bullets with these

  • @LionheartTMV You should go ahead and try. Come back and tell us how it went.

  • @deicidalRuffian Alright im back, totally worked bro =D

  • pissed off mothers would love to use this on kids

  • take the whips away from his hands and just have him keep doing it he'll look like hes dancing :D

  • What's the practicality of being able to bounce on your ass and swing the weapon under it? Possibly to stub a toe?

  • ... Catwoman needs some lessons from the chinese!

  • Raizo aint got shit on this guy

  • How long is the whip???

  • @LiteulLynx Usually between 41 inches to 60 inches

  • Weeeeeeeeeeeee

  • he should keep his chin in while he swinging the chain whips.

  • Next assassin's creed weapon? :)

  • how do you attack with this....it looks like its only to keep people at a distance

  • @Alesandros356 spin it passively behind yourself or at your sides and then lunge it at the enemy when you get a chance.

  • @Alesandros356 this is a monk's weapon. the monks were pacifists, it is against their code to be the aggressors. but the temple had valuable art pieces that were worth alot of money, so bandits would target them. the monks would swing the chain whip in hopes that they would scare off the uncommitted.

as far as actually hitting people, its the exact same concept as with a sword, stick, fist, or any other weapon. get them in range before swinging.

  • i love these and the rope dart, buying a whip because practiceing the rope dart is so fun!!!!

  • @0:02 ENTER BEAST MODE!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • just bought one and im trying to increase my skill with it. oh and by the way - 0:48- if mine had a huge sharp head on the end of it i would be dead a hundred times over.

  • 0:11 " I! WANT! MY! NUN!CHUCKS!!!! "

  • Kratos......

  • i bought one and was thinking : "Lets see what this baby can do" and almost lost my eye and hit the otehr side of my forehead XD HAHAHAH LOL oooow well no pain no gain but it works and yes is deadly

  • can they redo this vid with glowsticks? C:

  • the part at 0:12 was kinda pointless.

  • thats awesome

  • @Ryboy1381 It was probably requested by the TV people. Flashy moves get better ratings than the alternative. Also, "they're" has an apostrophe. Just a heads up.

  • @TheEggKing777 Also, in the context it would be 'their'

  • @Fenrir28064212 Well yeah, I just didn't know how much I could get away with before getting called names.

  • extreme poi? xDDD

  • bouncing around on your ass is entirely a modern wushu lesson on showing off, its never used in the ancient forms it makes us all looks like fools....

  • i remember seeing this on tv.. awesome show :o does anyone remember what it was called?

  • I remember training with this weapon when I went to china in 2002...

hurt myself a shitload of times because the tip hit me everywhere on my body...

I had a big-ass bump on my head... and that was when swinging cautiously... I can only imagine the kind of damage that is done when striking at full force... XD

  • damn its like having a forcefield

  • I made an improvised version of this weapon out of PVC pipe and nylon cord. It's interesting how natural it feels when swinging it around, even without any formal training at all. Very, very, VERY entertaining.

But yes, I did hit myself quite a few times, twice in the back of the head.

  • I'm a usual fan of Japanese weapons, but the closest I can think of to this is a kusari-gama, which is a chain sickle. After seeing this thing move, I should probably start looking into these weapons more.

  • @tiatrips The Chinese weapons are probably older too. It's really interesting to see the relationships between China/Japan/Korea in their cultures

  • What's this name?

  • looks more like dancing than kungfu to me

  • @lance1236451 Yeah, but dancing doesn't kill people...

  • @lance1236451 Kungfu is a dance. The dance of death.

  • @lance1236451 wushu is maybe a dance but traditional kung fu is a way of life that benefits every aspect of being.... don't confuse the two please they're very different especially when sparring or street situations are concerned

  • These old dudes doing kung fu like that are crazy.

  • does anyone know what documentary that is from?

  • @DeadlySinzzz It's a documentary on the top 5 (or ten :S) deadliest chinese weapons from the National Georgraphic! :) I remember someone put it all up on youtube a while ago, it might still be on here :)

  • @mychemfreak246 thanks!!

  • @DeadlySinzzz Oh, I remember what it's called now lool I'm pretty sure it's 'Kung Fu Killers 10 Deadliest weapons'

    Here's the link --> youtube(DOT)com/watch?v=nzIpfkr0klc

  • 10 people got struck with a whip

  • @keast18 more like got struck IN HALF with a whip...and then accidently hit the dislike button as their upper half said bye bye to their lower half :P

  • God of War...

  • ive hurt myself swinging nunchuks and tried three part staff and it was even harder, is it then harder to use a nine section whip?

  • @davidonspecialk i have all three i and i only fear making a mistake with the whip it wont just hurt an elbow or a knee these things can put a hole in your head

  • isnt this useless now because people have guns?

  • @1992marshmallow It's not about combat now as much as it is about tradition and discipline. Melee weapons as well as martial arts teach people how to hone their bodies and minds. It's all about personal growth which is very important in Eastern culture. Besides, not everyone has a gun, but anyone can grab a rope and a lock and make a fierce weapon.

  • @1992marshmallow No. I'm in the army, and they still teach unarmed combat and knife fighting. Guns have been around for hundreds of years, and these weapons coexisted with firearms for about 500 years. And guns make noise, so for stealth, they suck. Also, like KidRaggedBoy posted, if you know how to use the weapon, you can make an improvised one in a pinch.

  • @1992marshmallow

True but even if you use guns you'll always needa train in close combat too, I mean people use guns and knifes but this chain whip is even better than a knife sometimes

  • the manufacturer type chain whips may be more dangerous but my less lethal homemade chain whip (which still hurts like a mother fucker when hit, note: when i was hit with my whip it was on accident, meaning that it wasnt even near its full speed when it hit, so i cant imagine what damage it can do when i really try to use it against someone) but my chain whip is easier to conceal, it can fit in a pocket. better for self defense purposes

  • lol im goin 2 goto shaolin martial arts woo hoo cant wait 2 learn dat wep thinkin about buyin 1 of thoese chain whips or a bo staff

  • lol made me laugh when he jumped on his butt!

  • I'd love to see an old master. He has the moves, he does it smooth, but doesn't use strenght. If not faker :)

  • Why does the voice over have a Chinese accent...?

  • @TheHueMan01 because the bilingual translator is chinese..

  • @100percentguitarded

Then couldn't they just get someone else to read what the person has translated?

  • Haha. It's not bad quality. He's just swinging it so fast that you only catch glimpses of it. XD

  • cmon dont post shitty quality videos like this

  • Watz the name of the clothes the old man is wearin the one thts usin the nine iron whip cuz i plan on buyin me one but its gona be pure blue n ima wear it as much as posible omg i love jap

  • @YokoTheSilverFox bad news for you, this is CHINESE culture.

  • @Chamomileable can i stilll get it though ???? cuz i rly want tit

  • this may be missing the point but didn't they have some form of projectiles? even if these weapons could strike 30 feet a blowgun could go further, these might be interesting to study and use now but could they really be used as decent weapons?

  • i've already mastered it

  • People love to watch me use this weapon. Even when not used as swiftly, it's a lovely weapon to watch. I describe my relationship with it to that of a cobra: you must build great harmony with it, or it shall strike it's master

  • i can imagine hiting myself in the head playing with that thing...i will leave that one alone, great skill on vid

  • 0:12-0:18

A demonstration of the ancient Chinese technique of no-legs jump rope! :P

(Tryng to be funny. Please, nobody tear my head off.)

  • @Blackguard9099

    lame joke,

  • @ruud1212

Oh, bite me. You know it's true.

  • I thought your comment was funny but these uptight American assholes must defend everything for no reason and give you a ton of thumbs-down.

  • I appreciate the support. :) Nice to see someone else standing against the Yanks.

  • What are you talking about? He's obviously French.

  • What are you talking about? He's obviously French.

  • My very first thought was that you're going to hurt yourself learning it... a lot. No thanks, but very very awesome to watch.

  • That could mother fkin hurt like mother fkin bad ..

  • good for hitting butts

  • Soft weapon, my ass. Those things could whip off peoples' heads if they swing hard enough. xDD

  • it means they bend

  • Soft has nothing to do with impact. Soft and hard are poor translations for its properties. Think the yin-yang symbol. It is merely a binary division of things.

  • Not a division, but clarity. Yin and yang by definition are not divided.

  • @CarlisleAwesomeness Im not sure If they could take a head off, I have one of those myself, but Im damn sure they will crack skulls and break bones, the wushu ones are lighter, faster and look very impressive but will still cause some serious injury, I have a 7 section battle version, and it is seriously heavy, I cant imagen what kind of damage it would do to someone, im sure an opponent would be in a broken bloody mess after an encounter with it.

  • @CarlisleAwesomeness lolz, they are also known as flexible weapons; a less confusing term.

  • @CarlisleAwesomeness They were called soft because they hit hard places, like the head.

  • @FUCKIHATECENSORSHIP soft because they are a whip, and not, say, a sword or spear

  • @CarlisleAwesomeness Nah, it'd just put a lovely (and instantly lethal) dent in your skull something like an overhead swing from a 9-iron.

And probably make a lovely squish-thwack noise, too.

  • @CarlisleAwesomeness Then what about a Sword whip??? It can cut you into pieces... /watch?v=gzxtpg9HKbU

  • @CarlisleAwesomeness stupid its not ven a soft weapon. its called a flexible weapon.... wtf soft weapon what do they mean pillow?

  • @CarlisleAwesomeness i think by "soft weapon" it means flexible... not what its made of mate :) lol

and yea i think they could whip a head off easily...

  • @CarlisleAwesomeness soft weapon as in it is not attached to a solid object (i.e. Staff/ Spear) so they are free to move in any direction.

  • chain whip?

  • favorite weapon to watch being used =)

  • @maddude3 ever saw a sword whip??? /watch?v=gzxtpg9HKbU

  • the mongols conquered china :)

  • Comment removed

  • they did a long time ago lol. right after the song dynasty

  • oh alright ya i forgot my history for a minute, now i remember that they did

  • Uh, what about the Manchu who invaded China and founded the Qing Dynasty that ruled for several hundred years until the Chinese finally overthrew them?

  • I live in China and i swear im not lying, that i know some of those moves except im A LOT slower than professionals the guy towards the middle of the video used three technics that i can identify, the leg wrap, arm wrap and the neck wrap, all of those i can do but a lot slower

  • Dude ... your in a LipSyncGrp, I am confused!

  • Comment removed

  • wow this looks tough. one slip and- ouch!

  • At the beginning those spins are very much like poi spin patterns. I wonder if poi is a combination of this and the Maori use.

  • Im getting this guy to come handle my tall weed problem in the garden.

  • that would be epic

  • that would probably get the most views of any youtube video lol

  • or you can use a gun, just saying

  • insanity every1 in the world needs to see these chinese people and what they do!

  • That dude in blue is one bad mofo.

  • I have a 7-section whip, it is made of steel and its doulbe heavy than normals, but it's powerful easily to break one's head

  • lol im putting the 3 most dangerous weapons on my christmas list, the whip, 3 sec. staff, and a rope dart, i think i may get hurt over vacation XD

  • well, if you want dangerous weapons, you should alter that list a bit. the three-section is actually pretty easy to learn, and the chain whip is also extremely simple if you learn like i did (via an instructional dvd). the rope dart is hard, but there is a variation of it that is heavier, sharper, and has sharp edges around the outside. i speak, of course, of the bei tou flying weight. you also might want to try a mankiri chain.

  • well, yeah every weapon has to be learned step by step

also in my opinion the chain whip's flower is pretty simple and in my opinion this video isn't really suppose to be 5 star ratng

  • holy shit at the begining he swung that motha fucka fast

  • omg, the shaolin guy at the first part uses two 9 section whips! his crazy! not many people can use even 1 whip.

  • What show is this from?

  • i want to see more!!

  • "Students of kung fu are more likely to injure themselves when learning whip than any other weapon."

Rope dart and three-section staff are both more difficult and dangerous.

  • same with the chain mace.

  • @theMAG101 Three section staff's not too bad.

  • I think seeing someone trying to fight you with this would have a psychological effect And you can attack from farther away than a sword.

  • it would scare me seeing something being spun that fast even if it wouldnt hurt me forsay it would mess with my mind and i would back away

  • Hell yeah, especially if the person starts screaming when they get close to you. That is amazing, I'd love to learn it.

  • Is there a point in this weapon? i mean why don't i just grab a sword and break that piece of shit in half, and make fun of the guy who dumb enough to master it by playing jump rope with it infront of his face

  • the chain whip is just as practical; probably more so; than a sword is.

if I get in a fight with multiple people and I can't fight a stick or rod (sword techniques) I can take off my belt and put the chain whip techniques to use. Breaking someones nose with the buckle is a gratifying experience. My belts are almost all studded so yeah haha. Most weapon training is practical, you just gotta think about the logical way to use the techniques streetwise.

  • finally someone who understands that martial arts isn't some bs. like you said you just gotta think logical to use it streetwise.

  • akira357

did you even listen to the vid? He said that it was a SECONDARY weapon to spear and sword after you lost them both. By the way, would you rather attack a person who has a sword with your bare hands or the chain whip??

  • There is a lot more ways to use this weapon. You can use it to steal from, knock out, trip, bind, and used to terrify enemies from comming near you. Some weapons are used for more reasons.

  • I wish I could find a video on some of these techniques

Out of formal training right now due to lack of money, so I need books and vids D: any help?

  • the combat chain techniques I meant

Help would be great and thanks in advance respectzhen...(and anyone else who helps :D)

  • ... i dont know about you but the only time ive ever seen that happen is in movies. also so cut it you would need to create a lot of tension in the chain which you would not be able to do in a fight. so what you said is not plausible what so ever

  • See, thing is...

they're not talking about the maximum possible damage here, they're talking about how easy it is to hurt yourself with one. Trust me, when you have a mace, you're careful with it. But even when careful with a whip, it's real easy to get yourself hurt with it.

  • you know that whip is made up of steel links right???

  • i wonder how come Scorpion from Mortal Combat didn't use his "pointed whips" in this way.

  • so its probable I´m gonna kick my own ass with this weapon .. hm might reconsider trying it.. na kiding :D

  • wushu hurts

    quit

    JMWA

  • man up, weanie.

take in that pain and make it your bitch

*just got fat bruise on knee other day from combat weight chain whip; trying again in a few days*

  • same thing as poi. totally awesome.

  • aaaaaahhhhhhhh i confused!!! too much spining!! lol i would just stand there looking like an idiot trying to use this weapon 5/5 friggen awesome!!!!!!

  • That is the most badass weapon in the world.

  • Love this weapon, but I'm still too afraid to break something that I could start to learn the Jiu Jie Bian. :( Well, maybe in a couple of years.

  • thats one of the hardest weapon in kung fu to master

  • Hands down, one of my all time favourite MA weapons. Get a pair of these in the hands of a master, and it's pure poetry to watch!

  • i do fire poi, bet i could kill someone with one of those 9 section whips lol

  • This is so awesome. I have one of those.:) But I can't wield it that fast though.XD

  • Dude, this is so badass!! I love the first part. If a kung-fu master came at you with moves like that, what the hell could you do (Assuming you don't have a firearm)? If your level of skill is this high, you can probably kill any number of unarmed opponents by yourself, as long as your endurance allows!

It's almost scary to look at it!

  • You'd be thinking of Poi Spinning.

  • dude, i'm trying to remember a sport like this LOL and the advance version is that the tip is fire so it's like beautiful when twirled xD

  • Nah bro, I'm not, but my auntie is.

  • Ok, I'm sorry but remind me not to get your aunties relatives after my backside!

Of course, I mean all the best to you and your relations, but the Maori are said to be some of the most dangerous people-esp. on the rugby pitch! :D

  • totally awsome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is amasing! where do people get these things and what kind of metal is it made of?

  • You can order them at the back of kung fu tai chi magazine

  • Wheeeeeeeeee!

  • I'm so excited to get mine ^ ^

  • i got a 11 sectional whip and it rocks. I went to the world karate championships.

  • i just love whips^^

  • OMG, in China the poi is a weapon 0.0... wow =P i didn't know I can defend myself with mi art ^^

    5/5!

  • Are you Maori?
