It´s not a usual ZR1 with 647 hp. These one has 745hp. So we have a tuned 6.2L ZR1 engine and tuned 3.6L Porsche engine. The fact is, Corvette is a great and cheap car but with old-stoned-engineering; No innovations. This engineering (camshalft, 2 valve, leaf spring) was 30 year ago in EU and Japan. BUT it works! (with small innovations: spezial surface on pistons and cylinders)
My opinion: I prefer the Porsche with better ride and much better traction.

Something that is a very rare commodity in a place like the United States. The Porsche 911 Turbo is just fast, period. And it'll outlast the ZR1 by at least 80,000 miles.

Cars that are "common" in this part of the world may be rare in other parts of the world. V6 Mustangs are ten a penny in the States, but are super expensive in Europe because of the exclusivity. I do agree however that in the case of the classic German automobiles, only a few models have actually appreciated in value.

The only aspect the 911 wins is 0-60 by .5 seconds because its motor is sitting on the drive wheels. The ZR1 runs faster lap times and faster 1/4 mile times. Chances are these cars were both modified and the corvettes power was so excessive he couldnt get off the line. So do your homework! You can be proud but dont be dumb!

I think the next upgrade on the ZR-1 needs to be a driver mod. Stage 1 at least. Maybe spend some of your money on a drivers school too so that way americans don't look like jerk offs who cant drive. That porsche was damn near sideways and he was still moving quite briskly.

I'm just saying the car could have been built and tuned more properly and the driver could have driven it harder. Those cars should be much more equal than what that race showed.
