  • Is this Photoshop, or.....??

  • @FilmerOfBobcats ZBrush...

  • epic tutorial.

  • You draw the details of a god. I hope to learn from you.

  • I wouldn't call this a tutorial since nothing is explained...

  • That is actually harder than I thought.. You got talent

  • good stuff

  • This IS a tutorial. It shows the process - larger brush marks to get the basic masses of hair and layer in details with smaller brush marks along the same direction as the blocked in masses. Thanks for posting, now my beast can have a luxurious mane.

  • thanks for this. I'm making a model with michalangelo's david sort of hair, and this was a good help.

  • this isnt a tutorial dumbass

  • looks more like a 17th century sculpture than a CG model

  • very impressive!

  • lovely

  • you are quite talented i just got Zbrush yesterday and me an a friend have been goofing with it and ive got a wolf man going and ive been contemplating giving him a mane and fur on his chest and joints this may or may not come in handy you went quite quick and well it looks hard :|

  • The making of a furfaggot 2.0

  • Nice work!

  • So you just use the Standard Brush for the entire thing? Just changing the scale for detail? impressive

  • excellence.

  • very nice :)

  • Do you work with mouse or tablet?? (in this video)

  • a tablet is the way to go for this kind of stuff.

wacom bamboo fun is a steal imo (what i use)

  • parabéns pelo seu trabalho- é simplesmente fabuloso! você trabalha com o rato, ou usa uma wacom?

  • ye for a sculpt you mite wona draw the fur, but if its for anything ells like moveing stick a base model into maya then click "Hair or Fur" wola

  • generating maps is easy in zbrush if you know how to do it=)

  • everything is easy if you know how to do it

  • hair is easy! but generating maps with ZB can be an pain in the @ss

  • Amen to that!

  • you shouldn't be generating maps in ZB to begin with

  • itr seems you have no idea what you're talking about

  • I tried to download the 30 day trial, but it doesn't come in a mac trial yet. Darn it!

  • hahah thats cuz macs suck

  • lol ignorant!

  • lol naive!

  • lol misguided

  • lol true

  • lol lol

  • hahahah :)

  • lol

  • how come its a tutorial i dont even get it how to work? but still its nice.

  • Very cool.

  • Great tutorial its very inspiring as im trying to sculpt fur on my model right now. I saw your Gorrila Bust on i think either ZBrush Central or CG Talk and though it was amazing! Keep up the great work! *^_^*

  • good stuff.. must be a pain to try to do that on a whole furry creature

  • amazing man! \m/

  • ok, its nice, but please someone show me how to do nice chain mail????

  • this in a day or 2? noo way.

this wud have taken him a few hours.

btw fabtorres im new with blender could you post a tutorial explaning what you did and what tools you use? im really confused.

  • This is a 8 minute video :) Took me hours to learn how to do it in minutes thou...

I don't know how blender works, as i'm using zbrush on this video. But mainly, you have to make large strokes with your default sculpt brush so as to define the gestures of the hair, then subdivide and keep detailing.

Sorry about other brushes, i don't know how to relate them to blender.

  • Currently, the blender sculpt tools still need work. Although pretty good, there is no control for falloff.(no focal shift or curves like mudbox) The only way that I know of to control falloff in blender is to try and make "alphas" in PS that mimic the different falloff types. If you are looking for a "budget" sculpt app, try Silo.

  • @fabtorres They don't, blender's sculpting is pretty basic, even moreso than what you'd find in modo or maya.

  • Have u tried ZBrush Leopardman? Grab the 30 day demo, its the only pro 3D app that you can make stuff with from the word go. it'd take a year to do the stuff in the vid above with 3DSMax or Maya. With Z3 you could do that in a day or two.

  • This is cool, I wish I could do this 3-d stuff. I illustrate in Photoshop with real textures but would love to rote my design :(
