  • Evil laugh from Santa? Damn, stay away from Taco Bell. They give you the shits anyway.

  • it's a differant video if you only watch it from 0:20 on...

  • miss that old taco bell sign :(

  • I remember when fast food places gave you awesome take homes. Now its just obesity and cheap Chinese toys

  • Holy fuck, they had Taco Bell in 1977?!??!

    I don't believe this!!!

  • @PsychoJosh They started in 1962, and the founder's last name was Bell.

  • @eyeh8nbc Brain has entered self-destruclhgHKL:jTGB

  • @PsychoJosh It's true Josh. Except now you cant get the Bellbeefer sandwich or the Pintos-n-Cheese. Just like you cant get the Jack Steak, Super Taco, or an order of Frings at Jack in the Box. Or a QLT or a McFeast from McDonalds. Or the Priazzo or Cavatini from Pizza Hut. Or a #3 burger at Sonic with Hickory sauce.

  • @THB79

  • @PsychoJosh Yep, only they no longer have the bell. And back then they served the enchorito, tostado, and Bell Burger (the original name of the Bellbeefer), which they've since discontinued (even though they briefly brought back the enchorito last decade).

  • @ch20stn I think they don't have actual bells on the top of every Taco Bell restaurants anymore because some people may think it's annoying to have a actual bell always ringing all the time on the top.

  • they sound so desperate

  • I didn't even know that Taco Bell EXISTED back in 1977....let alone making commercials too!

  • Taco Bell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that's an evil laugh

  • Mwuhuhohohahahaha!!!

  • Santa is the ruler of taco hell. It's official.

  • Holy shit! my mom had those glasses!

  • 59 cents for a medium pepsi and a glass. what a deal

  • These days, Santa eats Taco Bell on Christmas Eve, and takes a dump in naughty children's stockings.

How's THAT, for a stocking stuffer?!

  • Even SANTA loves Taco Bell.

  • I think HO HO HO would have been a little more in character than BWAHAHAHAHA.

  • @safenders BawHohohohoho?!

  • @VictusDwayne that could work needs to be tested lol

  • Wow! When Taco Bell had REAL ingredients.....

  • I have some of these!

  • i think Santa needs a haircut....not the beard...the rest of him.....hmm...he sounds evil!! BEGONE I DON'T BELIEVE IN YOU!!! >.<

  • My parents have those exact glasses. I forgot those came from Taco Bell.

Could "Santa's" beard and hair BE any more nylon?

  • I wouldn't want Santa visting my house after eating Taco Bell.

  • I wonder how their food tasted in '77.

  • @DisasterBlaster500 From what I remember, in 1988? Taco Bell came out with a 49-59-69 cent value meal, the first of its kind. Other fast food companies jumped on the band wagon because Taco Bell was kicking their butt in sales. In order to remain profitable, Taco Bell became a master at cutting food costs. As a result, tacos and tostadas started tasting like card board. The lettuce tastes funnier too. Having eaten both, it is my memory then that the food was better before the cheaper menu.

  • 59 cents for a medium drink that comes in an actual reusable glass?! man, those were the days!

  • Mexican food at Christmas? No thank you.

I would like a big fat turkey cooked in it's own fat, with crunchy roast potatoes, thick meaty gravy, and roast chestnuts. THAT IS CHRISTMAS!

    Cool advert anyway.

  • So that's how Santa fattens up for the holidays. One month at Taco Bell, and he's ready to jiggle like a bowl full of jelly.

  • Holy shit that laugh at the end..

  • I remember these glasses and I had a few. Wish I would have saved them because I bet they're valuable now.

  • Evil laugh. Taco Bell has you now!!!!

  • why the evii laugh at the end?

  • Did anyone ever actually "collect" any of those "collectible" commemorative glasses the fast food joints used to do all the time? If so do you still have the collection?

  • There was Taco Bell back in the 70's? I never heard of it until sometime in the mid to late 80's.

  • @arhuxtable "I'm in this dumb hotel, by the Taco Bell, without a hope in hell" -Supertramp 1979

  • I love the old-school Pepsi-Cola logo.

  • It's very old

  • does anyone know what year that was?

  • @danrichards23

    1977 THE TITLE

  • I love santa's evil laugh at the end!! xD <3

  • Wow santa's such a g

  • What wise words coming from Santa Clause.

  • lol, at the end it's like santa laughs his evil laugh while his minions come to his taco bell lair. haha i'm lame :P

  • Nicest part of offer...keep coming back...just whose side are you on Santa?

  • dam 59 cents for a medium pepsi wow!

  • @gangsterhood21 59 cents in 1977 is about the equivalent of $2.12 today.

  • that was a evil laf at the end..... -_-

  • i hate fast food and ull never catch me at any fastfood place except taco bell you cant get me away from that place lol

  • The pitch of his laughter is alarming.

  • The guy playing santa seemed nice, but that laughter at the end was CREEPY!

  • This was back when glass collections were all the rage in restaurants. I still have my 1977/78 King Kong glass I got from Burger King.

  • Exactly. Up until a couple years ago I had 2 original "Empire strikes Back" glasses from burger King. Until they broke when we moved. I had them since 1980 or so when the movie came out.

  • damn dude that sucks,i whould of been really pissed.

  • was he trying to say ho ho ho at the end? Sounded kind of evil to me...

  • That must have been when their food sucked out the ass. LOL

  • yeah taco HELL gives me the runs too! GROSSEROO food!

  • This is awesomness!

  • Taco Bell gives me the runs lol. They dont build the buildings like they use too and dont have the bell.

  • These promotional gimmicks were priceless. Nobody does that anymore

  • Mwaahahahah !!!!

  • 59 CENTS?!?! it would be like....4 dollars now!

Lol at the creepy laugh at the end.

...too bad their going out of business by 2011. =[

  • Where did you hear that they are going out?

  • I HAD THEESE GLASSES GROWING UP and remember getting them at taco bell in las vegas on tropicana road.

  • As a native of California, I lived in Ohio for three years.....I am now back in Cali...and would love to see Captain D's. So much better than Long John Silvers....They make the best fries. I also loved Fazolli's Italian Fast food.

  • my grandma has those and she game me 2 extra ones she had. xD

  • Where did they have Taco Bells way back in 1977????

  • They had one not too far from where I lived

  • @WCWite We had them here in Arizona.

  • Thanks and whats unique is that it that building it right where the old johnnie broilers used to be.

  • I hear you there was 2 Wendys closed to me but one was converted to IN & OUT and the other one became a Mexican restaurant.

But a plus side is Bobs Big Boy is coming back to LA.

  • I know how you feel sygo7g I feel the same way about Wendys.

  • Thanks sygo7g and trust me u will love it. You got Del Taco that cool I wish that there a Sonic in LA.

  • I gets whats you saying. Kinda like the Jack in the Box closed to me redone the place but kept the old logo.

  • Maybe youre right sygo7g its just that in the Taco Bell close to me now have the Taco Bell logo with just the Bell.

    ANYHOO Thanks sygo7g!

  • I know that 7g just that I never noticed that one before and didn't Taco Bell changed logo in 2007.

    ANYHOO Thanks!

  • I think my grandma has those glasses.

    Also, EVIL SANTA LAUGH!

  • Is it just me or did that Taco Bell logo looks different?

  • you have to keep coming back is not the greatest thing to tell the public

  • i won these glasses at the fair!!!

  • Sounds like Santa could have been in Michael's Thriller vid.

  • What a creepy laugh. Makes me want to go to Taco Bell now.

  • Hohoahahaoaahahah!

  • Santa, that was not "Ho ho ho", that was a maniacal laugh!

  • Wow, real glass, and they actually look nice. Fast food restaurants were much better at one time. They were never fine dining of course, but they were far above the crappy, depressing places you see today in many cities.

Taco Bell was eventually bought by PepsiCo, which also bought Pizza Hut . I was remembering the other day when Pizza Hut was actually a fun sit down restaurant. Now, I wouldn't dream of going to one on a Friday night and dining in.

  • santy claus seems a little evil. funny commercial.

  • Santa holding a taco something doest look right with that image

  • 59 cents! For a medium drink and an actual glass? :O Insane!

  • I was thinking the same thing!

  • No joke! The drinks cost three or four times that now. And I was just in BK the other day. One of those Star Trek glasses is $1.99 and you have to buy an overpriced combo to get one. I rarely do fast food anymore. It almost costs as much as a full service place now and as the prices go up, the quality seems to go down.

  • That's because the value of the US Dollar has gone down. US currency used to based on Gold but not anymore. It's known as a Fiat based currency and it's a fraud . Sorry for the economics it's just that this hits a sore spot with me.

  • Taco Bell was better back then. Does anybody remember the Bell Beefer? I remember eating them when I was really little.

  • Was that on the hamburger bun?

  • Yeah, it was on a hamburger bun and the meat was the taco meat.

  • Aaaahh back when Taco bell tasted good.

  • :D I remember the old design!

  • Why does santa sound so malicious? lol. You have to keep coming back to get them aaaaaalll mwahahahahahaaaa!!! O_O

  • @NeeneeSuicide Because he probably spat in the food

  • @NeeneeSuicide LOL i know right

  • i think my grandma has those glasses. So thats where they came from . heh.

  • i got day 8

  • I pooped in those glasses. No joke. I was on the Hollywood 101 freeway in a traffic jam and I had to take a massive shit. I had no choice but to poop in my seasonal glass.

  • MWWaaahahahaha !!!!

    :(

  • mac only $59 cents i can buy the whole thing

  • Forget the creepy Santa (aren't they all?), I have a new must-have on eBay, those glasses are gorgeous!

  • What a classic selling method! And evil...

  • Taco bells used to look much better back then. They look like modernized shit boxes now.

  • @jeremy34769

For me, it's the 1985-1993 period I remember and like the most.

  • @jeremy34769 Yeah, and their burritos tasted better in aluminum warps too.

  • wow thats a scary laugh.

  • that santa scares me

  • That's not a ho ho ho, it's a ha ha ha. Those glasses are cool.

  • kind of an evil laugh from santa! Cause he knows that eating at taco bell will make little kids fat jsut like him! Damn you santa!

  • That old logo is just awful.

That santa reminds me of tose 1-900 santas that got kids nationwide to run up phone bills.

  • I remember those 1-900 Santas. I used to sit on hold to talk to Santa. My mom got beyond upset.

Back to the commercial, there's nothing like a Santa with an evil laugh to persuade you to go to Taco Bell repeatedly. Now that's Christmas!

  • scary laugh

  • I think the old Taco Bell Logo makes it look like a toy store!

  • The creepy "ho ho ho" at the end killed it, but made my day xD

  • MMWaAAhahahaha!!!! LOL WTH

  • You have to keep coming back...ho, ho, ho, ho!

    That was just plain creepy...

  • My grandmother has all those glasses. Never knew where they came from though, until now.

  • Jesus Christ that was frickin creepy!

"...because the place you keep coming back to...is Taco Bell"

    DONG! DONG!

    "Mmmwaaah haaa haaa haaa!!!"

  • oh yes i must obstruct my bowels twice a week for an ugly ass cup that i can get a garage sale

  • MOMMY!

  • Oh my god what a bizarre commercial. Give it to me Santa - tell me what to do Santa. Santa/Satan, I will do your bidding. bwahahahaha.

  • Well, maybe I'm old fashion, but I always thought Santa said "ho ho ho", not evil sinister laugh.

  • What an evil laugh.

  • Holy crap 59 cents, now you cant even buy a terd with 59 cents

  • actually, yea you can buy a lot of taco bell still for 59 cents lol

  • I remember these glasses. I had about 3 of them that I got at taco bell back in 1977. I had them way into the 80's and eventualy they got broken.:(. Taco bell also had some bugs bunny and daffy duck glasses don't know from what year. I had 2 of these also but don't know what happened to them. Do you have any taco bell ads promoting the bugs bunny and daffy duck glasses? This sure brings back memories.

  • oh man, I've never seen taco bell signage look that way. Thanks for posting this commercial.

  • Santa's laugh is pretty sinister at the end -- it sounds like something from a Halloween ad!

  • lol, yes it does!
