I'm a Hayne so I don't like Slater but he's better consistently and Hayne has to work hard for the Eels that he is like the playmaker and can't worry about himself being a good typical fullback and not have to be 1 man team. This is why Slater is better because he has good players and I honestly think if Hayne was at the Storm and Billy wasn't Hayne would be just as good or better and hes not Origin fullback because they think he doesn't suit the role. Play consistent and your the best Hayne

If you are able to make an honest comparison between Slater and Marshall, there is no comparison. Billy Slater finds a gap and aces through it like a true champion - Benji Marshall makes a gap where none exists and with blinding speed, even at his current age, takes Rugby League to a new level. Billy - you are a great player; Benji -You are a freak of nature and easily the best player I have ever seen.

Bowen hasn't been injured the entire last 4 years. He has been available for most of the last 4 years. The bottom line is, he was never seen as a reliable or good enough fb 4 QLD

anthony minichello, plays for roosters, was fucken amazing player before his career was plagued with injuries, his strength was almost unmatched as far as ive seen, he made line breaks like they were nothing,had a top speed higher then slaters and a surport play just as good as slaters, and better in defence but slaters def is pretty ordinary. if u neva saw him before he got injurys then unlucky =(. locky best fb ive seen though.

@ElSpewtardo you are completely correct that billy is more consistent but thats a simplistic view. slaters best is perhaps 70-80% of haynes so it would be much easier to be at that level all the time. to expect hayne to pull off tries like those against saints 09 semi or penrith last year would be ridiculous, they are once in generation highlights, so the media think hes inconsistent but if you follow him he is consistently parras go to man and is always dangerous.

Now he is a shadow of that player. Hayne is much like Inglis, a couple of great games in a row and Wally Lewis says "he could be the greatest", then the next year and a half he is mediocre at best. Bottom line is Slater has been the best fullback for the last five years and chits all over Hayne and every other fb...

Hayne can't even make fullback in Origin, and you say he's better than Slater. LOL what a joke! Slater is already considered by experts as one of the greatest fullbacks ever. One on brett stewart when he ran him down and took him out,on mark gasnier and a big hit on dwyer and so on....theres nothing wrong with his defence, actually it still is better than billys. Look at lockyer, he is the worst one on one defender ever but people still think he is a great player.

If you are able to make an honest comparison between Slater and Marshall, there is no comparison. Billy Slater finds a gap and aces through it like a true champion - Benji Marshall makes a gap where none exists and with blinding speed, even at his current age, takes Rugby League to a new level. Billy - you are a great player; Benji -You are a freak of nature and easily the best player I have ever seen.

Bowen has a better passing, running, kicking and defencive game then any fullback i have ever seen. The most skillful. Slater is just in a good team that make him look good. He has no kicking game and his passes can go astray at times. eg..world cup. Austarlia has now lost the world cup and a few tri nations. A change has to be made.

They've lost the world cup and a couple of tri nations final now which is not a good record for his rep career. When they did pick the team on form with carney @ 6 and boyd at fullback they smashed the kiwis. Sheens may have to pick this side again if they want to win at the end of the year.

@scorpoween Billy wasn't incumbent until the last 2 years or so, even Hunt was picked ahead of him for QLD and the Australian team, God knows why... Until Billy pretty much forced them to bench Hunt and hasn't looked back since. Hunt then went to Union and AFL when he realised he was never gonna get anymore rep honours. Bowen hasn't been injured the entire last 4 years. He has been available for most of the last 4 years. The bottom line is, he was never seen as a reliable or good enough fb 4 QLD

Billy and a few of the Storm players came into my work today ('ME Bank' - Melb Storm Joint Major Sponsor) and you honestly couldn't wish to ever meet a nicer bloke. I'm a Bronco's fan myself, but his welcoming attitude totally blew me away. A lot of the Storm boys acted as if they could be doing better things with their time, but Slater was just a top notch fella. Really genuine and down to earth. A newfound respect :)

mini was awesome in prime, but i think billy still has the edge on him. billy, like mini is a freakish ball runner but now billy's game has evolved over the last couple seasons and he is a good ballplayer too.

mini neva reached his prime, his career was destroyed before he could. but credit to his abilitys the roosters keep sticking with him cause they no that if he ever reached his potential again hed be the best in the business, mini had more ability then slater, slaters defence is shocking (high balls and gathering off kicks). mini had more strength and a better top speed, slater by far has the best acceleration just a shame mini got hurt =(. locky still the best ive seen.

kicking over his head id hardly say that was "gas'd" whole reason he kicked over his head was becuase he couldent run around him, slater only has huge acceleration becuas hes always jogging, his top speed isnt that impressive, see the try hayne scored in origin slater couldent even get near him and gave up asap. jennings and slater prob the 2 players with best accell jennings is quicker though. and theres lots faster then slater, morris boys, hayne, cooper ect.

anthony minichello, plays for roosters, was fucken amazing player before his career was plagued with injuries, his strength was almost unmatched as far as ive seen, he made line breaks like they were nothing,had a top speed higher then slaters and a surport play just as good as slaters, and better in defence but slaters def is pretty ordinary. if u neva saw him before he got injurys then unlucky =(. locky best fb ive seen though.
