  • This is really weird. The production values say Bill turned 49 in 1978.It looks like an episode of SCTV...

  • I like the bright, poistive, happy side of life because of great comedians like Cosby.

  • I am 49 and this is just too good, and too true !!!!! such a great find - thank you for uploading this ... needs to be sent to everyone for their 49th birthday - in fact youtube should just mail the link to everyone for that , they have our data anyway - so here is a good way to use it ! and : Hello to everyone else who watches this and is 49... :-)

  • I found many "Bill Cosby: 49" tapes for sale on eBay! I bought one for $11.

I'd recommend buying one while you still can (for those of you who still own a VCR) because if SOPA passes, these YouTube videos will be gone forever.

  • Bill Cosby: the world's only sit-down standup comedian.

  • @Veggieman87, Dave Allen was a sit-down comedian, he was very popular in the UK.

  • @ilabstudios Then he's *America's* only sit-down comedian, thank you.

  • There could have been better clarity here with the graphics.

  • bill cosby smokes ?

  • wow. I've heard of Cosby sweaters, but this guys is taking it too far

  • 0:11 this video brought to you by the letter A

  • 50 isn't old. My great grandfather is 107 and still rides a bike. My grandad is 83 and still works in the mall.

THIS VIDE0 SUCKS! And anyway, Bill Crosby's about 80.

  • @sirtinycreep Uh, no, Bill /Cosby/ is 74. That's still quite a ways away from 80.

Why do you think it sucks, because he's acting like 50 is old? Age is relative to how you feel. Some peoples' bodies start giving out when they're 50, so they start to feel "old" earlier than other people. Or do you just not get good humor?

  • @sirtinycreep You have a living 107 year old Great Grandfather? I look forward to seeing him on the list of Supercentenarians in 2014.

  • Whats wrong with you? Didn't you hear us when we first spoke to you?

  • bill cosbybis one of my favorite comedians

  • this was the first stand up tape i saw as a child!..so so funny!..don't eat or drink anything whilst viewing..your likely to either choke or spit the contents on your screen..:p...& still have it some where...my childhood was filled with digging hole, tree houses, falling out of treehouse's,neighborhood cops & robbers, bbqs & bill cosby!..wooot

  • I pray to lord Almighty that the copy right people don't find this

  • I'VE NEVER EVEN SEEN THIS! :D

  • hahahahaha it didn't hurt,felt like a knife.

  • GABRIELEsongs stop being a lowlife and revengeful idiot or I will tear your playhouse down. You lied about me and you haven't take it down you TY will tear your treeless treacherousness house down . No more back-door sex all the time with you ex because he liked it and would don it otherwise as he thought you unattractive and we all do..

  • LOL!!!!!! SO FUNNY!!

  • don't feed the troll

  • @pissclam Wow.. You are calling Bill Cosby lame.. Yet your idea of comedy is making your youtube name... Pissclam... I'm sorry.. With a name like ..... Pissclam.. You are not allowed to have an opinion on comedy..

  • he goes so far beyond Dane Cook

  • Pissclam is a retard. Absolutely the best comedian ever. No disputing.

  • @wesleymohawk - he isnt called pissclaim for nothin

  • @pissclam go listen to justin beaber or something, we dont need retards here

  • I am 29 and I can still recall listening to my dad's old Bill Cosby records as a kid. Hilarious then, and still hilarious now.

  • I'm young and I love it!!!

  • Bill Cosby is one of those comedians that will always be loved and even after he passes away because he's that funny, years from now when we're all dead or old people will still be watching or listening to the things this man did.

  • I love how he ties the leg back into the joke. This is called crafting a joke and Bill Cosby did it effortlessly. Thanks for posting!

  • This stuff is great. Haven't heard this before and I've heard all Cosby. Love this!!!

  • how come the audience wasnt laughing as hard as i was or as they were supose to be?

  • His stuff will never get old LOL!!! thank you for posting 

  • MAN! I remember when this was everywhere for sale. The Kodak symbol took over the cover of the VHS.

  • this guys a living legend. thats all i can say!

  • Even comics today like Bill Burr (incredibly funny man) that work "blue", still give props to Cosby, and marvel at how he can sit in a chair and tell these little goofy stories and just slay the crowd completely. Many thanks for posting these...

  • thanks for posting these!

  • "Yeah he'd sit..HERRNGGGHH!"

"And he'd get up and made even more noise RYEEEEOOOOWWW!!"

  • WHAT A MAN !!!! , GREAT !!! .

  • bill cosby is awesome i saw him yesterday

  • every single video with bill cosby theres the comment stating "you dont have to curse to be funny" thats true but, people change over 30 years and now there's different styles of comedy. I'm 18 years old and I love bill cosby but I'm the only kid that does I swear it. But its like me trying to get my grandma to hear my style of music its not what she grew up with so she dosent like it, see what i mean.

  • in 1986 my dad graduated college lol

  • This a great VHS I use to rent it from a store here. That of course no longer has it; I'm sure the VHS is a collectors item now.

  • This is the most awesome Youtube post ever. Thank you thank you thank you.

  • omg I still have this on VHS but I don't have a video player anymore

  • This is my favorite, even more so than "Himself" so thank you for sharing this. I have looked for this for years and after reading your post, I now know why I haven't been able to find it. It's hard to believe it's not available on DVD.

    Thanks so much!!!!

  • I love it when he goes on a little trail of a story and he doesn't actually say anything. He just makes the noises of some of the words and makes some of the actions and facial expressions that he would be having. You know exactly what he is talking about and it is hilarious.

  • I love Bill Cosby--not the least of which is because he doesn't swear, which really isn't necessary for good humor--but oh my GAWD is that sweater hideous.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!!

No matter what anyone says, Bill is simply the funniest comedian ever!!!

  • anyone can relate to bill cosby.

  • @probesoul tim hawkins is a great clean comeians and banana comidy is a great show of clean comedians and I don't see why you guys need curse words to be funny in fact I find that unfunny and a little sad stop puting curse words in your Script make it so that my kids can see it

  • I love this guy!! I would have to say hes the funniest man still alive, he has always had clean but always funny.

  • @kwkamstra That's his signature. No profanity but he can still make you crack up. ;)

  • his spheal about the burping whiplash made me laugh xD just soo cosby-like humor hahaha

  • Cosby will always be classic!Im 50 now!i can feel it too!

  • everybody bill is not DEAD..yall all sound stupid sayin that...when indeed he is very much alive..

  • Did they make this after he died?

  • @SPRlHA

Screw me? How about screw you! Fricken racist!

  • @Jsmith858522 How is tht racist..? tht doesnt make sense....

  • @SPRlHA

When you have a preconceived notion about someone based on their race that is stereotyping/racism.

  • @Jsmith858522 uh.... wow

  • @supercj476

  • @90Christin

What!? He died last year right before he was about to go on tour, so tragic.

  • @Jsmith858522 you're kidding right? he does interviews about upcoming tour. in 2010.

  • @90Christin

I saw those interviews in the movie This is It, they were recorded prior to his death, so tragic :(

  • I like when he was making comments about the pain in his legs how it went down to his ankle LMAO hahaha

  • one of the originals, pure genius, he put so much into everything he did, and still does. He is just naturally funny. Not alot of comedians these days have that. Bill Cosby will always been one of the greatest of all time.

  • Unrelated, but it's nice to see a full page of nothing but thumbs up in the comments. Not the negativity I'm used to seeing elsewhere.

Related, I miss this man's classiness in the public arena.

  • he's right...welcome to 49. I'm there.

  • i love his sweater ;) <3

  • bill cosby is very good MashaAllah, his jokes are always clean and hilarious

  • ys he is stay up brother bismillah

  • Before people start posting it here, I would just like to warn people who don't research what they hear: Bill Cosby IS NOT DEAD. Thank you.

  • Dr.Bill Cosby is my all time favorite comedian. I grew up watching him on various TV shows and I have a Bill Cosby Cd collection that I have memorized by listening to it many many times. I was most fortunate to be able to see him live in Sacramento ca for my birthday what's funny about that was when he started the skit about his visit to the dentist I know that whole skit front to back and the people thought i was too young to know bill when i went word for word I had the whole row crackin up

  • @koopatroopa7 soooo ur excited that you used someone elses material to get laughs...

  • @alldavokals it was awesome for me to be able to go word for word with one of my favorite comedians of all time in the middle of a several people who thought i was too young to know bill cosby material but to get the reaction on their faces when they heard he and I word for word was priceless. So say what you want you wouldn't understand nor be able to feel what i felt that night because you are not me so have a nice day

  • @koopatroopa7 Thats great dude...thank you for sharing queer...

  • @koopatroopa7

Must have been really special and unique for you! I`m a little jealous... ;-)

I was born in 1983, so he was a precious part of my childhood, too!

Thank you for posting, Webster Jake! :-)

It`s sad that such a brilliant kind of comedy is rare to find nowadays. This is really mature and honest, the reason why it`s so funny.

(My English-lessons are long ago, may you forgive my mistakes, if there are any.)

  • The Master

  • I'm in tears I as I write this he's so freaking hilarious

  • Hah. I just worked out yesterday so it hurts too laugh and atching this I couldn't even lay down. Bill's awesome!

  • I haven't seen this in years. God bless you for putting this up! My Dad watched this all the time when I was a kid. Can't believe it's still not on DVD.

  • Is this comedy bit happen during his run on the Cosby Show?

  • It's very refreshing to hear good humor minus the cursin. You don't need to curse to be funny

  • @Probesoul who gives a fuck?

  • @Probesoul

    lol you make me lol

  • @Probesoul While I totally agree with your statement, you also have to remember that not everyone is like Mr. Cosby or reflects his style/genre of humor. I love him b/c I can listen to him w/ my family, but if I'm by myself or w/ friends I'll listen to Richard Pryor, Carlin or Lewis black. A sense of humor is like beauty...it's completely in the eye of the beholder.

  • @davesqueakywheels I'm sure anyone of those great comedians that you mentioned could be just as funny without the cussin... I remember Pryor and Carlin on Ed Sullivan... they were pretty funny and they got funnier but not because of the cussin

  • @Probesoul There's no doubt about that. Yet, even so you could present the argument that that would take away from each of their own unique edge and dramatic appeal. Richard did nothing but clean material before he discovered who he really was. Same w/ Carlin, he was playing all of these high-class, mostly incredibly conservative nightclubs and dinner venues; until he discovered that he needed to be doing HIS brand of comedy at the colleges

  • @davesqueakywheels Curse words have no meaning but there introduction into the common public vernacular was not by accident or the result of natural growth or advancement... we live in a planned society and the degradation of American art and culture was planned a long time ago with the Stanford Research Institute founded in 1946 by the Travistock Institute For Human Relations

  • @Probesoul My point is that while I admire Mr. Cosby and am a tremendously huge fan, I'm saying is that we comedians were all not born w/ Mr. Cosby's gift of creating and generating clean material. It's not a matter of writing clean, every comic can do that and needs to for corporate gigs, etc. It's just that not many can do it well and make a living off of it like Mr. Cosby, that's all.

  • @Probesoul True but Cosby has cursed albeit not often. A few times in his "For Adults Only" album and one truly memorable time in "Bill Cosby Himself". The act of him using the swear was why it was funny

  • Comment removed

  • @Probesoul No mostly S, GD, and a-hole. never heard an f word

  • @Probesoul Thats one of the reasons I like Christopher Titus. He doesnt curse very often, and yet he's funny as all hell. Lol I cursed.

  • @TheNorthernDragon Thanks for mentioning Christopher Titus. I never heard of him but I searched him on youtube and I'm having an hilarious time watching "Love is Evol"... and very little cussin too which makes it all the more enjoyable

  • @Probesoul I really agree

  • @Probesoul I also like how bill Cosby seems to be the only black comedian to leave racism out of his skits. He's the good 'ol family funny.

  • @CrystalHunter1989 You like it? Well, if racism hadn't been a defining reality for them they wouldn't have had to talk about it.

The real key is that when Bill started in comedy (the early 60's) a Black comedian couldn't make it with race based subject matter...infact a Black comedian could hardly make it at all, there were not very many because of the state of things. Before Bill, the Black comedians that did exist had to make it by making fun of themselves.

  • @CrystalHunter1989 check out reginald D hunter

  • @Probesoul you sound like my fucking mother go eat a acid tab and cheer up

  • Bill at his best!!!
