Victory in Iraq is when the Iraqis can handle their own security.

Now I have a question for you: Were you actually looking for an answer or are you just another anti-war person repeating catchphrases?

(Part 1) What is Victory? Actually, I have not heard anyone ask that question. Not the press, not congress, not the anti-war group. (I agree, the anti-war people are rather rhetorical.. they're really not looking for an answer.) I don't think that question is particularly anti-war.

I've see some anti-war people saying it. It was something along the lines of "how can they take about winning when they can't even say what winning is".

I thought that Bush and most of the republican candidates had explained it pretty well by saying "we can't leave before the Iraqis are capable of taking care of their own security", but I guess they need to start saying "victory in Iraq is when the Iraqis can take care of their own security".

(Part 2) What is Vitory? Your answer is not very specific, but suggests a course of action. And we can define specific goals with specific measurable results. This number of Iraqi police and military people will be needed, and that amount of time will be required to get them trained and ready. The Iraqis need to step up to the plate. They need to solve THEIR problem. How long will it take?

It can't be define it by specific numbers or dates. It comes down to what happening on the ground. As Iraqis are seen to be in control by the generals on the ground American troops can come home.

And the Iraqis are stepping up to the plate. Maybe this is something most people don't get, but all the people in the Iraqi government, military and police are risking everything they have their life and family's lives. That's as serious as it gets.
