i now believe that the munsters lived in florida. the episode "herman, the master spy" showed the munsters going to a sandy beach that seemed near their house. the munsters lived on mockingbird lane in mockingbird heights, and the mockingbird is the state bird of florida and arkansas and mississippi and south carolina and tennessee and texas.
the episode "the fregosi emerald" was neat in that it showed grandpa and herman visiting detroit, near where i lived when i first saw the munsters.
I didn't know it was such a popular bird. I guess I wasn't really paying attention to the places they were in the episodes. Now I wonder if there were any palm trees around.
in all seriousness, i don't think that the producers had any particular state in mind when they made the munsters. i don't recall any palm trees. i imagine that it was filmed around los angeles. i forget whether los angeles has many palm trees.
You're probably right. Good number of palms along the main roads from what I recall. Don't think the Munsters' house would look right with some of those in their front lawn though, hehe!
Hm. I guess I figured since they never said and they'd fit in well there, I just assumed that's where they were located.
