Amazing song to an utter underwhelming and disappointing game. You have to suffer through 2 average games to get to an amazing finale in 3, but the music is worth it in all the games.

I didn't like how they changed Shion and KOS-MOS's voices in part 2. Shion was just bad, KOS-MOS was ok but at least they changed the voices back in part 3. The vocal changes I thought were a good fit were for Chaos and MOMO. the latter especially, her voice in part one was very annoying.
I actually thought Shion's new voice was pretty nice. I loved how she said "OPEN! ETHER CIRCUITS!"
I don't think you can really judge the voice actress for KOS MOS in Episode 2, because she never really had anything like lots of dialogue or important scenes to work with. KOS MOS got the least amount of lines in Episode 2.
You do raise a good point about Shion. I was was only dissapointed because her voice in part 2 was one I'd heard before. KOS-MOS's voice was fine with me. It just seemed odd that they changed it and then bothered to change it back.
I like both, but I suppose both worked well for the character. As for Kos Mos, i would have liked for her to... actually have any interesting dialogue before I passed judgement on her.
Though Bridget Hoffman is an amazing voice actress.

THANK YOU. This is one of my favorite Xeno songs. Definitely my favorite boss music, excepting possibly Grahf. This song is so unique and epic...it doesn't really fit the final boss of the game, which was like a mid boss in comparison to the bosses in Xenosaga III.

What? A shame there are only 3 games? They were three AMAZING games and you really can't say that there as many Final Fantasy games that were as amazing especially for storyline. None (including and especially FFVII) had as in depth and amazing storylines as the Xenosaga series. These three Xenosaga games are worth their weight more than the entire Final Fantasy series.
There was apparently orginally 6 Xenosaga games planned. Also in the UK there is only 1 xenosaga game so it really isnt very popular here so yeah it is a shame. This is an unknown franchise to a lot of people. Also the developers have said thats it for Xenosaga there wont ever be another game so of course it is sad to see such a good franchise end.
Final Fantasy VII had a very good storyline!! Are you saying that Xenosaga has a better storyline than VII?? If so, I have to play this game, but don't hate on Final Fantasy VII because it was a very good game
FFVII was a fine game. I think most of the hate comes from the fact that the web is inundated with fanboys of the game that can't string together a better argument for it being great than: "FFVII RULZ!!" Of course, there are some legitimate reasons for not liking FFVII as well.
In any case, the storyline of the Xenosaga games is perhaps more involved that FFVII, but whether it's better depends upon your tastes. I really liked it at least. The music, particularly in the third, is wonderful also.
the xenosaga series was very good it definitely is longer than final fantasy VII because of it being three games. I wouldn't compare them though. Xenosaga is definitely a great series and worth a playthrough. Episode 1 and 3 are awesome, 2 is the worst of the three.
@stphocas their are actually five games Xenogears on the ps1 and xenoblade which is a spiritial sequel on the wii. it was only released in Japan though. I pray to god it comes to America soon.
@stphocas 3 games that had amazing potential... that were not fully realized. The series was meant to be a 6 parter (just like Xenogears was conceptually supposed to be 6 games). The first game is the best one in terms of presentation and story. The second one is what killed the series more or less. It did not meet the expectations of the first game at all, completely falling short. The third game tried to rectify the problem (and it did), but it was completely bittersweet. The sad truth.

Man, I love the fact that it doesn't sound like your average final boss theme. And the guy singing what i think is hallelujah near the beginning makes me feel like im listening to some kind of chant. yasunori mitsuda ftw!
this song was so much more different than the rest of the game,i listened to it before i even had the game and wondered where it came from, so you i was like o.O when i got to that boss.i thought the end battle theme was great too, i used to dislike leaving the exp screen.
They changed composers; Yasunori Mitsuda who also did Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger was on the first episode but either left or was kicked out for episodes 2 and 3.
It's almost creepy to me when I played that battle, as it's a heavy, intense battle with a huge and powerful gnosis, but it's backed up by this wafting, smooth melody. It's almost like a counterpoint to the fury going on.
Wow you're right, and it was most exciting at the same time considering the battle music in the game had always been the same all the way through then BOOM this. I wasn't dissapointed at all ^_^

This is such an epic piece of music! I loved it so much when I first heard it at I didn't want to beat the battle until I heard it all the way through.
My jaw literally dropped open when this started playing, I didn't hit any commands for several minutes. Considering the song that follows this is also awesome it was an amazing ending.

Xenosaga III was acceptable. I just wish the game didn't feel so rushed... I loved Xenosaga I's battle system. It should totally be remade with III's graphics. xD;
And they should just start all over, so we can all forget about Xenosaga II...

2 definitely took some getting used to, but there were certain things i liked about it. And as always the story was phenomenal. But yes 1 and 3 were better

Wow, so you have a Top -100 and 100? So there's 200? I just now noticed that. Man, you know a lot of songs... you even have a Top 50 World Map list. My lists are very small compared to yours. I only have a top 25 battle theme list, top 30 boss theme list, and top 15 world map theme list. At least I got some though... lol. This was the last boss theme by the way right? Do you got the normal one somewhere in your list? Because that song is awesome too. ^^

this song was so much more different than the rest of the game,i listened to it before i even had the game and wondered where it came from, so you i was like o.O when i got to that boss.i thought the end battle theme was great too, i used to dislike leaving the exp screen.

They changed composers; Yasunori Mitsuda who also did Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger was on the first episode but either left or was kicked out for episodes 2 and 3.

It's almost creepy to me when I played that battle, as it's a heavy, intense battle with a huge and powerful gnosis, but it's backed up by this wafting, smooth melody. It's almost like a counterpoint to the fury going on.

oh, man. this was so perfect the first time i heard it. i just couldn't bring myself to kill the final boss when i had the chance...
the music made me just stop and wait while i got my ass handed to me. oh well. i never actually finished this game, because i got mad when i died at the end and never went back to finish it. it's ok, though, since i just went on to episode 2. this track is just so awesome...

Yeah. III was pretty good, but I didn't like that they abandoned the battle system that they used for two games for an FF-like battle system.

Xenosaga III was acceptable. I just wish the game didn't feel so rushed... I loved Xenosaga I's battle system. It should totally be remade with III's graphics. xD;
And they should just start all over, so we can all forget about Xenosaga II...
I remember how excited I was to get that game on my birthday, and as soon as I started playing, I was like 'wtf'.
The shion poster that came with the strategy guide was nice, tho. xD;

It is sort of messed up that they abandoned their Xenogears influenced battle system. Though I feel the FF menu style battle system is an improvement over the one from the second, and possibly over the first.
