I looked at all the damage done in my barn from mink.Holes chewd threw 2 inches wood or more.Never mind the wire they got threw.I decided to look them up.My yard is the heaven for mink.Aparently.

They look cute, but they're quite dangerous. They're killers. They've been known to kill for fun, not just to feed. If you want the same cuteness without the danger, you should look into ferrets. They look exactly the same, but they're not vicious.

Most black mink are farm raised mink. Not sure if there are black mink in the wild, those are mostly brown or sable in color. Judging from the size of this mink, it is most likely a girl and very hungry. Looks to me like it is one that either escaped from a mink farm or from someone who was keeping it as a pet. They are NOT pests. They are God's creatures and deserve their place in the world like every other living being. Anyone who wears vanity fur will answer to it one day.

It was -23 degrees a few days ago and plenty "sunny" so fur is for ALL, in case you have not noticed, CLT NC and ALT GA both have had sustained temps <35 degrees, perfecto fur weather.. gotta luv fur hats, scarves, coats, and best off all Fur lined boots...mmmm.. fur...mink,sable,chinchilla,ra­bbit name it, if its fur, it is fun!!
