Very nice 1977 silent cine footage, just a pity in many ways that interesting historic items have been missed, like shots of the ticket prices at the booking office, the small station request stops such as Ballabeg, Colby and the Level, and Port St. Mary (that is/was the biggest station building on the whole network) is hardly seen at all. But never-the-less, a nostalgic look back, nice to be reminded of it, as it's not the same nowadays.
That was really great, thank you. Nice Port Erin as it was before they removed the platform on the north side, also Douglas still with platform covers in situ.
@WeeYellowBus I fully agree. I went back in 1992, it was my last visit there, and found it strange to see the platforms with out their canopies. You can watch my 1992 footage on youtube if you look up: The Isle of Man Railway 1992 Part 1 and 2.
I used to vist my grandparents who lived in Ramsey from 1967 until 1976. I remember green engines calling at Ramsey during the Lord Ailsa period.
Nice film have not been back to the Isle of Man since 1973 the centenary year, must go back for another visit...although Douglas station has now lost its beautiful platform canopies....

@galbeadon I was back on the IOM in July 2009 but did not take any video. Douglas Station is not the same without the canopies.
