@Devilock79 For circumcision to compare to FGM, they'd have to cut off the whole tip of your penis, not just your foreskin, and stitch your peehole shut. Circumcision isn't that bad. I used to babysit a boy who wasn't circumcised because his father wasn't. The boy ended up getting an infection under his foreskin, so was circumcised at the age of 4. Not saying this will happen every time, obviously, just a risk.

@benjonsonable I didn't cut my sons', a doctor did. It's part of my religion, and I also wanted to assure that they wouldn't get horrendous yeast infections under their skin. And, before you talk about hygiene, you should know that the most cleanly woman in the world can get yeast infections, unless you're going through there with a magnifying glass, it can STILL happen. It happened to a little boy i babysat and he had to be circumcised at 3y/o.

And if they've never had sex intact, how would they know the difference? Same with circumcised men. Most can and do enjoy sex, but there is a certain element that's missing -- like an orchestra without the string section.

Dorland's Medical Dictionary defines surgery as "the branch of medicine that treats diseases, injuries, and deformities by manual or operative methods." Newborn circumcision does not treat any disease, injury or deformity. Sometimes it is the direct cause of injuries and deformities.

The parts that are cut away are vestigial parts belonging to the opposite gender - the clitoris is a part-grown penis, for instance, so they are indeed meant to be removed.

There are some women who have undergone clitoridectomy that *can* experience it but this is normally because not enough has been cut away and the root of the clitoris has been left in place.
