Funny how people compare planes using emotion or what jet their country is flying as a guideline. While its only dependant on facts. For instance its a fact that US and western electronics and radar cross-section reduction is far superior to that of Russia and Asia. We have shot down many MIGs in Korea, many MIGs in Vietnam, 4 MIG-29 in Serbia, and the F-15 wins mock exercises against indian SU-30MKI at the Red Flag. Also the F-22 beat the SU-37 with a 11-1 Ratio at a Defence Evaluation and Research Agency Simulation. Look at the poor russian Pilots dieing in Georgia or the killed in Airshows because old MIGs without maintenance.

@silentspec99 Actually that's not true, the first time in history when jet fighters fought each other was all the way in the Korean War, with the American F86-Saber against the Russian MiG-15's, and again in the Vietnam War with F4-Phantom's vs Russian MiG 17's and 21's, and more recently American F-16's vs Russian MiG-23's in the 1982 Lebanon War, all of which the American planes had at least a 3:1 kill ratio over there Russian counterparts, except for the 1982 War, which was closer to 15:1

And the Sukhoi was more in favorite.. you see russia still is not a fully democracy. so.. maybe some friendshipt etc. but sukhoi overall made the last few years better planes. mig31 etc. where good too but outdated.

@runxxeroxx You should look up this one pilot (I can't recall his name), he was piloting Mirage 2000 in the Israeli Air Force, and during a patrol he got separated from his wing-man and flew straight into a Syrian ambush. It was him vs an entire wing of MiG-21's and manged to eliminate every single one of them that didn't bug out (run away), it was a really cool story!

@runxxeroxx No Hind has ever shot down (not dawn) a F-14 Tomcat (its one word), also, I don't recall how many planes there were against him, as not all the Air Force's have the same number of planes in a squadron as an American squadron, only that he nearly became a double ace in one engagement and forced all others to flee. Also, the Vietnam story would be impossible, as only two squadrons of F-104's were deployed in Vietnam, and of the 14 lost only six were destroyed in dogfights

Funny how people compare planes using emotion or what jet their country is flying as a guideline. While its only dependant on facts. For instance its a fact that US and western electronics and radar cross-section reduction is far superior to that of Russia and Asia. These factors are the most important in modern day war where its not 1 jet vs 1 jet but you fight in a complete network of different units all with a different task and supporting eachother.
