  • Wow, I love the 3 set safety....:) Does look good. Well done other then your camera movement...lol

  • breech, bolt race, bolt handle, controlled feed,

    .223 at 1000 yds....

    sorry couldnt help myself

i just went and picked out a 1500 with blue heavy varmint barrel and OD houge stock. Its mainly for my wife as her first rifle, but i reckon it'll end up being my fox rabbit crow and wild dog stick. Im looking foreward to playing with some load variations.

  • I just bought a Howa 1500 .300 WinMag for $400.00 with a Hogue Stock in New Condition. :) Very Happy with it.

  • were you the camera man for "Cloverfield" and "Blair witch project"?

  • @SpikeReeve no they died.... sorry, it is not my field to aim cameras...I am a scientist, not a camera man....apologies

  • The floorplate is the bottom of the internal magazine

  • You should store your rifle the other way, flip it, it protects the scope better.

  • Super annoying review. Come on bro you can do better than this.

  • not a sniper rifle, nice rifle though whats it chambered for?

  • @Jedimindtrickitis A musket can be a sniper rifle.

  • I have a Howa 1500 stainless varmint in .243 I changed the trigger which was set at factory 5 -5.5 lb, fit a Timney unit (2.5lb ish)it will improve your groupings. I fitted a B+C stock. In the UK we generally fit sound moderators to these guns as they come screw cut ready. The Hogue stock is just too light and the B+C 6560 improves handling and balance of the gun; but does increase the overall weight. Fitting this stock also improved my shooting groups considerably even with factory ammo.

  • The silver thing is the cocking indicator. The thing that holds the cartridges is called a fixed box magazine. The scope mount...the parts that hold the scope are called rings. The base is Picatinny, pronounced "Pick-A-Tinny". HOWA is a decent rifle, made in Japan. They make the barreled receivers for Weatherby for their Vanguard series.

  • whats the scope called

  • @iuniti i answer your question in the video......

  • @logicalthinker101 cant understand u on vid sorry

  • @iuniti hm thats odd, i have received thousands of messages from people who DO understand...maybe its not me....maybe its you?!

  • @iuniti hm thats odd, i have received thousands of messages from people who DO understand...maybe its not me....maybe its you?!

  • what country makes howa?

  • @jigglejack100 Howa is a Japanese manufacturer; Several American companies have used their actions including S&W and Weatherby.

  • @logicalthinker101 thanks

  • @logicalthinker101 hey just to let u kno howa and s&w coppied the weatherby action nice rifle just go the range and dail it in and practice

  • hey mate im thinkin of buyin the rem 700 version of sniper centrals custom. how long it take to get urs? and how s ther customer service?

  • @Chrono301Beatle it took a few weeks. not long at all. had to do the FFL transfer and shit. I got great customer service. i was able to call Mel Ewing on his phone and he helped me out. all in all i was very pleased. that 700 rig looks nice. let me know how it is when you get it!

  • @logicalthinker101 well it may take a while to get a cam but once i get the cam ill put full reveiw up and first range report with target pics all the way out to hopfully 800yds

  • @Chrono301Beatle

heard Howa 1500 is way better than Remington 700 in accuracy and fit and finish btw.

  • @Chrono301Beatle heard howa just plain superior.

  • @Dreadzedan yes. it is.

  • christ set the fucking camera down. nice rifle. how much does that stock weigh

  • hello, what kind of picatinny rail take you for the howa??

  • @mikemuc0 It is a Legacy International.

  • Nice overview for people that already know guns. I would suggest that you take more time in your preparation and be less squirrely to show the fine points of this rifle. (Personally,..I would never even think of buying based on this video,..NO WAY!) I already have a 1500 and this just makes it seem like info-mercial junk! Not the case.

  • if somebody decides to call a target rifle a sniper rifle let them he may not be a sniper now but if shit hits the fan anyone with a precision weapon will be a sniper saving the asses of those of you gang bangers with your glock 9mmrs just keep that in mind

  • @killshotkings No worries man. happy to help. thanks for the sub!

  • I have taken my Howa 1500 to 1000 yards and I recently put 4 rounds into a 10 inch circle from 1000 yards with my own hand loads. This rifle is scary accurate. just imagine being able to reach 1200 yards with an off the shelf rifle. the liberals are quaking in their shoes.

  • Just got my Howa barreled action in .308 back from the gunsmith yesterday. He tuned the trigger down to ~2lbs and there is absolutely no pre or post travel. a simple 2lb pressure on the trigger and it breaks clean. AMAZING. Just have to get the CDI DBM inletted to my B&C stock, like the one you have, and fit the compensator and Ill be done! Can't wait to shoot it.

  • @barbourj22 Get some manners, and learn to be respectful. if you wish to give criticism, try to be both original and constructive next time.

  • Sexy rifle.

  • what is best for medium(300yd-600yd) range sniping.....a .308 or a .30-06?

  • @adrianrubi, to be honest both are more than capable or hitting a target at that range. The Military used to use the 30-06 as there standard sniper round. they now use the .308. the most important thing when building your rifle is going to be what type of glass you have. the scope is what will make the difference. since both rounds will do what you want them to, you need a scope that will put them there accurately. I personally use and prefer the .308

  • thanks. I was thinking of a howa 1500 rifle in .30-06 with a 26in heavy barrel. using federal gold medal. and IOR valdada 10x56.

  • trust me man. u want a 308... i do long range shooting comp wit my uncle and grandfather... u see 308 and 300 win mag. i barley ever see any diff cals.

  • @str8upcracka Yeah i would have to agree. .308 is the way to go. Marines Classify their .308 scout sniper rig to go out to 800 meter max effective OFFICIALLY. UNOFFICIALLY it can hit a target accurately beyond 1000 meters with a decent shooter, rig & weather.

  • @str8upcracka, thanks for the info. now that you've mentioned long range comp a tubb 2000t/c looks so inviting. i emailed them and they told me it's only available in either a .308 or 6mmXC. has a 25inch barrel too.

  • @adrianrubi - 308

  • @adrianrubi 300 meters is hardly mid range going beyond 300 meters is a long range shot in my opinion. Police snipers stay at much lower ranges than that for tactical reasons. Paper targets .308 imho 30-06 is a forgotten round that well it's been getting it done for a very long time and won't stop getting it done. Just one near perfect round for what it is.

  • Very nice rifle! Probs help to put the cam in a tripod next time...

  • when i get my howa finished ill do a vid and post it up :)

  • it's pic-a-tiny soft i

  • dang it, is michael j. fox video taping this?... quit shaking

  • that is hilariously distasteful

  • hahha

  • Nice rifle man. I'm a member of Sniper Central also. I've got Oneeyedmac building me a custom Howa 1500 right now. Can't wait to get it and head to the range.

  • yes its a 7.62 / 308

  • where did you get the longer barrel? I can only find the 22 inchers.

  • the rifle was infact a TAC-50 standered issue to candian snipers

  • You are only half right. While it as a .50 caliber rifle, it wasn't a TAC50 The rifle Cpl Furlong was issued was an Accuracy international AW50. The previous record was 2250 meters by a USMC sniper in Viet Nam. Rob Furlong's shot was 2430 meters.

  • To be honest, I dont think rob furlong should have got all the hype. It was his spotter that did all the calculations and stuff, all he did was pull the trigger.

  • Well i suggest you try to think about your heart beat and the fact that the very small distance it can move your aim, at that extreme of a distance it can mean being more than a foot off of target. it took an extrem e amount of self controll to put that nickel sized bullet through its intended target.

  • I hear what your saying, but does anyone even know what the spotter's name is, I dont. Spotter does alot more work than the shooter, all im saying is that he just have been included in the record.

  • Beautiful setup, close to mine, but with a Falcon Menace ontop....

Not to put U down in any way, but the mile and a half shot by the Canadian's was with a .50 cal round. Longest .308 i think is about 1400 yards.

    But great gun...

  • thank you.. yeah i made a mistake with that... but for right now i wont be shooting past a few hundred yards and mostly only out to 100 for now.

  • Above you will see a couple short vids of me and my buddy shooting this for the first time

  • Comment removed

  • I am taking mine to the desert this saturday. I am taking my camcorder as well. Hope to have some good footage to upload.

  • I am currently shooting that same setup. The only difference is I have a 4-14x50 scope from Matt Wonders over at wonder optics.

I can vouch for the accuracy of the howa 1500. The farthest I have made hits is on life sized pig silhouette at 600 yards. The smallest target was the small clay pigeons propped up on the 200 yard berm. That gun is more than capable of 700 yard head shots

  • with a well skilled shooter behind it 1000 yrds kill shot is very possible. with 10x it is reasonable to hit a 12-17 inch target. most will not rate a .308 at more than 800 yrds effective but the reccord is 1 and a half miles kill shot by a canadian sniper. that is a confirmed kill. i personally do not expect to shoot beyond 500 yrds so this equipment will more than do the job.

  • Record shot was done with a tac50 (50cal) I believe not 308.
