thats big for 5 inch are you sure its not 7 1/4 inch because i drive this gauge in england usually Britannia class BLACK PRINCE or American outline locomotive 4. 8. 4 and so on
@Lukeashley2323 For sure its 5" gauge but yes its massive for that scale. I have two such models like this. This 23 is just over 11ft in length. I have a 7.25" gauge class 10 which is about the same size as the 23 but in real terms is a much smaller locomotive. The 10 will be running at 7.25" gauge society AGM at Echills wood railway in Sutton Coldfield on 24-26 Sep 2010. You can see them all on my Youtube site under "Lifeofrail"

if you buy an engine, which will 90% of the time be a home made one, because thats how these are made, they can range from 1000-40,000
depends on what it is.
an engine like in this video i would valve aat about 15k maybe

@Lukeashley2323 SAR is 3ft 6 gauge not 4ft 8 1/2 so it scales to a bigger model
