  • hello,, im a Chaldean, my great parents arrived in India some 2000 yrs ago,, they expanded the Syriac chruch of the east as far as China

the chaldeans of mesopotamia, the levants and Cyprus converted to the roaman catholic church in 15th - 16th century, thus no longer members of the church of the east,, but im so glad to see the church of the east still strong in India and still called Chaldeans,, thank you India

  • These christians are really interesting, they are both christians , with an aramean following a syriac tradition, and indians, I would like to visit this fascinating country of Kerala where all is original, christianity, hindouism... are original and rich, all traditions are original in Kerala which is an extraordinary country with a

very well 100% literated population! An Happy New Year for all.

  • christianity was brought to india by SAINT THOMAS and after that many people lost faith.......... it was only after the knanaya coming there that the church gained faith again

  • Well, I myself Christian but I'm really sorry to say that Vatican counsel disapproved theory of St. Thomas arrival in Kerala So did the Jews and Arabs! I LOVE JESUS MORE THAN MY SOUL but I'm bound by ethics rules Guys! Truth must be told! Some pious Christian say that Christanity was indigenous culture in kerala that's not true either! St. Thomas Arrived 53 A.D.?Then keralaties must had arrived along with him right? We keralaties did have precious indigenous culture!

  • @stephenraj88

  • @MrIceCold28 Please DO NOT consider YouTube or Wikipaedia as authority on any subject. You & me can post anything in these sites. For examaple, I can post a half an hour video in YouTube saying that Russians ruled Kerala in year 1850. You can also post similar videos. But it has no relation with reality. Hope you understand my point.

  • The sacred Western people are also Just like any other poeple like pagans. They are also ugly in many respects. Why did the so called western Churches who are now india could not change indians traditions/habits. the same also applicacble in africa>all types ofwestern christians are there.Yet people in africa they follow their own culture and rituals even now. the western missions cannot change their customs/culture as yet

  • Christianity is fake

  • Kerala is God's country!

  • Cool so long as Syrian Christias commit to supporting fellow Indian Hindus over non-Indians, I am brotherly to them.

  • i love learning arab christian history and culture, thanx so much for posting

  • Very interesting!

  • how very lovely,Hope you will be protected by God.... Christians are going to go through rough time, so strength is needed.

  • This video widened my knowledge of my roots....am very proud of my origin...thank you and God bless...

  • bit of disagreement with the reality..more than hindu culture..kerala culture will be a better term. Kerala culture is derived from itselves as well as from middle east since there was lot of people from middle east migrated to kerala much before christianity started. Syrian christians still follows lot of jewish customs which most of the people are still unaware of. Similar things account for the muslim mappilas in kerala

  • @xflavor84 Your statment "The christianity that spread due to christian missionaries are Latin christians" clearly shows your total ignorance about Missionaries who came to Kerala. so, no more discussions with such a person. Thank you.

  • @jacobmathew2 LMAO Dude do you seriously think Jews came in the twentieth century? My friend you have no clue about history and should never comment unless you did research. Are you some Hindu with a fake account hating on Syrian Christians?

  • @MrIceCold28 My friend, I still stick to my earlier comment about XFLAVOUR84’s statement "the christianity that spread due to christian missionaries are Latin Christians". I repeat this statement shows XFLAVOUR84’s ignorance about Christianity in Kerala & European Missionaires who came to Kerala.

  • @jacobmathew2 Jews were the first people to convert to Christianity. The people that first people spread Christianity to the world were the 12 disciples and many followers, who were all or mostly Jews. Who do you think would listen to their message first when they would go to different countries to preach? They would spread the word of Christ to the Jews first and then the Gentiles (non-Jews).

  • @jacobmathew2 I have to agree with MrIceCold28 on this. Unfortunately I can't post any links on youtube because it won't let me. Go to Wikipedia and search for Syrian Malabar Nasrani. Go to any search engines and search for Syrian Christians or Syrian Malabar Nasrani. Go to this video on youtube about Kerala history which is titled "Kerala (Indian) Heritage and Histroy".

  • @MikeVarghese86 Please DO NOT consider YouTube or Wikipaedia as authority on any subject. You & me can post anything in these sites. • @jacobmathew2 One basic question You must answer this. If jews came to kerala in 20th century how come lot of jewish temples exist for centuries. At least explain how Paradesi Synagogue existed in kerala from 1568. Forget about wiki pedia it still exists in Kochi u go and check it..(coz u r one of the people who dont believe things until u see it..dont know whether u believe u have brain inside!)..And please dont write blunders here..U r just advertising ur ignorance here

  • @jacobmathew2 Common dear...face the truth..no need to run away from truth..we are not living in ice age..there are tons of resources offline and online to tell the history..I dont know how u got this misconceptions about christian origins in india..if u r a latin catholic..search for sui juris churches ...i dnt think u r a orthodox because the way u say ur statements...Missionaries who came to india is Latins and protestants..thts written in every history book..The first being the portugeese..

  • The mantrakodi is about casting a spell or mantra on the woman so no one steals her, so I don't know if the bible supports witchcraft and mantrams and stuff. But I wonder, why is it that Christians have had to be subservient to hindus, and scared of them, so as to adopt all of their traditions, why don't the Christians have the freedom to worship according to the bible?

  • @vakkachan1 Manthrakodi is a KERALA tradition, and when our ancestors converted to Christanity, they continued their Keralite tradition. Pudava or Manthakodi is an assurance to the girl, that I will protect you, feed you & cloth you from now on. That is all.

  • It is not rituals, style of worship that makes us Christians but a relationship with Jesus Christ as savior and God as our Father. Amen.

  • Watching this video makes me proud of my roots...

  • Thank you very much that you revealed the Origin of Syrian Christian of kerala is from Hindu religion. But the origin of true church of Jesus is from God Almighty.

    Mathew 16: 16-18.

  • Not exactly from hindu religion..christianity in kerala started with jewish christians who migrated as well as local jews who converted to christianity and started mixing with local people. Early days of kerala was predominently bhuddist people rather than hinduism. Still the names of lot of places reflect the buddhist influence...e.g many places with suffix "kota" shastamkota etc was bhuddist centres.

  • @xflavor84 Jews came to India only after Second World War, whereas Christanity spread in Kerala due to the work of Christian Missionaries from London

  • @jacobmathew2 That is a very ignorant statement Jacob. I think you have no idea of history. Please do have a look on history. Jews were in india even before christanity came here. The christianity that spread due to christian missionaries are Latin christians , pentecosts which were mostly was through local conversion.

  • @xflavor84 I assume XFLAVOUR84 and MRICECOLD28 are the same person, using different identity.

  • the INDIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH IS A GREAT CHURCH. Lovely People. GOD BLESS THEM!

  • iam also a Hindu my dear friend but the thing is that u r viewing even these people in the same way as to the catholic and the other western evangelicals.they r ale heretics, foolsa and hipocrites but i dont think these people r of the same creed from ur perception.they r not evangelicals in fact they respect the indian culture immensely and also these people themselves have sufffered the heresy of the western churches in the past.

  • Who are these people? We are Indians like you and the rest of the people in India remember that..

  • Well said.

  • @vedanta19 sir i really think it doesnt matter. if these people believe that jesus is the son of god (like i do) then i think we're the same. these people are no different than the christians in europe or the usa

  • if i want to have a cheap laugh, then i just watch the ramayana. what a funny tv serial....lol....with cheap graphics

  • @thomas9504 i use pages of bible instead of tissue paper

  • it was just superb................

  • very informative, thank you for this video

  • apocryphal legend chronicles doubting saint thomas accompanied with jewish refugees, migrated to travancore territory during first century. lateron when local muslims persecuted arrivals, the christian clan dispatched reinforcements being portuguese fleight. the portuguese protected indian christian renement from neighboring muslim oppressors and inreturn brought them under roman see. spanish inquisition in india never worked, for unknown reasons.

  • Roman Catholic church persecuted us during middle ages.We were accused of not workshipping the saints.ANyway we still keep our tradition.

  • You are from Orthodox Church, turn back to orthodox faith. Peace!

  • Please could you tell me what is the name of the priest singing at 0:45?

  • fr M P George ,he is the music teacher of MD seminary kottayam....

  • What is the history of the division between the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church and the Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, why are the Saint Thomas Christians in India divided up into different factions?

  • Very interesting video!

    thank you!

    God bless Indian christians!

  • @mathew2007gmail If so, then why Kerala is more educated than all other states in India ???

  • kerela christians did adapt the religion with some of the hindu traditions especially in marrige but me being indian orthodox syrian christian i do have to agree to the video

  • If you look the profile of godwatcheye, then you will know who he is!!!. Please click on godwatcheye.

  • Thanks for promoting my messages and videos !

  • Remember christianity is entirely different from local practices such as caste system (christians do have it in a more terrible form),the pagan worship system etc.Why can't you boldly tell that I am a christian, rather than making the spine-less declaration of the still poccessed "hindu blood".When christians lack the moral courage such videos appear which is none other than a covert attempt to impress upper caste hindus and also to satiate

    the orthodox-christian ego.

  • The commenter has a lot to tell but for the lack of space. The truth is portugese force-converted a lot of lower caste/tribes people, settled in hilly regions of kerala. All the unaccounted converted came under the "Syrian"umbrella and the later accounted converts became "latin" or backward christians. Some of the hill-tribes are also quite fair-skinned (eg.The upper-elite of Uraons & Kujurs (both ST)of jharkhand, many of them are fair, who constitue the main catholic population of ranchi).

  • The hindu blood of christians explained in (5:33)is difficult to understand. (uppercast or lower caste hindu blood?)Brahmins and uppercaste hindus in general abhorred meat eaters and moreover brahmins worshipped cows. From where

did syrian christians(mainly in the central travancore)inherit the "beef-eating",which is clearly a lower caste food habit. The word "kaikkaran" still used in the orthodox community is exactly the same used for lower caste tantrics.

  • i always thought that syrian christians came with the first arabs, there were arab muslims, and arab christians, and arab christians made one of their places in kerala.

  • Can you show/cite a single piece of evidence that arab christians came to kerala?.Arab christians were intellectuals and prolific writers, but no arabic christian texts/cannons/edicts -nothing

of arabic christian influence in kerala.

  • do your homework mathew2007gmail.... several peshitta bibles(aramaic bible) existed in kerala, most of them were burned by the portuguese except one which is now in a british museum. Most of our prayers are in syriac, but people are too lazy to learn them, so they have translated a lot into malayalam

  • Arab christians used the word"Allah"

centuries before Islam, also Salib for Cross,ath-Thaluth for Trinity,Yawmu l-Jumati l-Ḥazina for Good Friday,Idu l-Fish for Easter,al-Ab for God the Father.None of these words/derivatives in malayalam christian dialect.

  • Mathew is my real name. But,is jaihind555 a bogus name or your real name?

  • if they want to practice christianity, what is your issue with it?

  • Friend, absolutely no problem.India is a secular nation every one has the right to practice their faith. But why should truth be substituted with unverified legends which has been time and again proved to be historically false?why the chauvinism of linking the origin of ancient christianity in kerela to middle east?

  • Indeed how ridculous and hilarious to see the chritians struggling hard to find roots and similarities with hindu culture. is't it a drive to show off that they are also aristoicratic. This very people patronised casteism, the curse of india, even more than their hindu counterparts, armed withthe BIG-LIE of being "Syrian", while mounting historical evidence tells these syrian christians are indegenous people, with clear low caste roots, numbered just 35000, 55 churches around 1800

  • A bunch of lies repeated 100 times made history. Absolutely no evidence of St. thomas AD 52, coming to kerala. No brahmins in kerala till 400 AD. Not a single remarkable literary piece in kerala by the christians till the very modern. The fabulous "beef eaters" just reflects the food habits of the lower caste people ;who when became influential created myths to claim aristocracy. " Syrian christians" a conglomerate of low caste people

    with little of forged history.

  • jews who fled the babylonians lived in kerala, they spoke aramaic. majority of the people who converted were jews. later there were migrations from the middle east...

  • They shouldn't call themselves Christians, they are new agers.

  • will you shut up you western scum. I believe your the moron which such ignorance and language.

  • god bless syrian orthodox indians

  • seek the truth and when love outpour it means truth in me and it will make me free, no matter what i wear, speak or what my gesture. Proud to be syrian jacobite orthodox christian for its adaptability to bound people to christ.

  • hey do we have like actual syrian or middle eastern ancesors or are we straight malu with just a middle eastern name?

  • I am a syrian christian But I am a christian first.. I don't want to follow the hindus style of worship. I don't know why this ammachis want to those lamps...

    We are christians not hindus.

  • we can,t never forget our ancestors,we should keep the old traditions what ever it may be... first u indian , then syrian christian.

  • @ratannura When I migrated to Australia from Kerala, I didn't change my name or my father's name.

  • @jacobmathew2 No man, I was using my roommates laptop and I didn't realize it was under his account.

  • @jacobmathew2 You seriously have to learn history, the majority of Mallus in Kerala and outside Kerala would disagree with you or at least the non-Catholics. You make it sound like we just became Christians last century. You're causing a riot with your witty statements so please keep it to yourself.

  • like seriously, there needs to be a total overhaul. for one syrian 'christians' need to start acting like Christians. At this point of time with all their petty internal squabbles, they look like anything but a church.

  • You mean like the Catholics? LOL.. Democracy means sqabbles you idiot.

  • Thanks honeyvirus. But i thought we were talking about religion / faith. Where does democracy come into this? And pray WHY should a churchh be called a church if it starts looking less and less like one. Specially when fundamental tenets are violated.

    -The Idiot!

  • Think of the immense power of being able to control peoples beleifs. Faith offers that to the leaders.

The Taliban, RSS and the Evangelical Jesus freaks are testament enough against religiou dogma and concentration of power.

Religion is for the people. Whoever beleives that "God" speaks directly to the leaders need to be rehabilitated.

BTW, loosen up, name calling is fun. :-D

  • And your point is....

About loosening up..id fall apart if i loosen up more than this. Im having fun myself.

    - Still the Idiot!

  • Tazi u speak like an authority.

Time will decide whether there is need for change or not.

  • no need of any change...

  • the problems with us nasranis(me included) is that we are still sticking with hindu customs and methods. thats why caste and other problems are still in forefront.

We need to create our own christian culture like the muslims and stop following hindu ways

  • We are proud of our heritage. There is no need for change.

  • Another fantasy shit. Ok why the hell these people want to relate themselves to hindus, This drives us to conclusion that they are scared of hindu fanatics.

  • Their culturally Hindu

  • Some Nasranis claim 'Namboodhiri Brahmin' heritage. Lots of articles have been written in criticsm of this. One of the most important reasons for claiming this heritage was that for status and power. To claim Hebrew or Jewish heritage would lead one to 'loose' as there was a strong odium/stink associated with being Jewish /Hebrew. Jews were hit not by Inquisition alone but also by the great 'Martin Lurther' himself.

So a situation arose that it was most unwise for anyone to claim Jewish heritage. A lie told 10 times becomes 'truth'.

  • these nasaranis look so arabic and meditterenean...

  • Mr.jaihind555 what is your problem?? He is trying to make his point. After all religion is that, a lot of people trying to make their point. If your mom dosen't know who your dad is, she will speculate, same as you are doing now.

  • Do u think these christians dont know their dads?

  • yes i had this argument with a mallu christine once he claims most christines in kerala are brahmins who converted when in reality it is the lower caste hindus, its kinda like in north india and pakistan alot of muslims claim their ancestors are mughal kings.

  • U ARE RITE MAN

  • @fez30756750 I am a so called "Syrian Christian", but I totally AGREE to your comment. Nowadays it is a fashion to proclaim that I belong an ancient Brahmin family, which was convereted into Christianity by St. Thomas. These are all myths.

  • very informative.
