  • about the hd.. and??????

  • @bfrow1027 : Check the upload date. HD was a little more impressive back then. Now, even mobile phones can record 720p (not that resolution=quality, though).

  • Wow ! good

  • Really nice. No narrative is necessary to make something pretty.

  • just a tip rob, next time you upload a video in hd, leave the resolution at 1920x1080. it looks so so much better and crisper, because amazingly youtube's resizing thing seems to look really good. btw, how was abunai?

  • ill message you my questions, they are a bit long haha. Sorry =p

  • Well my ultimate goal in most of my footage is to make it into some sort of compilation in the future. So you think that the use of a "lossless codec" is best in this situation? And thanks alot, thorough explanations are very helpful haha.

  • Oh and also, what settings do you use? just curious. They seem to preserve the quality really well haha.

  • Unfortunately, it was quite a while ago that I made this video, and I no longer use TMPGEnc because of its terrible instability. I now use VirtualDub and AVISynth (both of which are freeware) to deinterlace, resize, crop (duration-wise) and compress videos.

However, it's the compression (codec) settings which really affect the quality. I use XviD, set to VBR (with "quantizer scale" set to around 2 to 4), "Motion search precision" at 6, "VHQ mode" at 2 or 3 and "use chroma motion" ticked.

  • There are other settings on XviD, such as "Quarter pixel" and "Trellis quantisation" which help too. Trial and error is the best way to see what each thing does. However, if you're editing your video, the key to keeping the quality is to never compress (lossily) your video until the very end. Use a lossless codec such as HuffYUV or Lagarith to avoid losing quality for temporary videos,or use VirtualDub's "frame server" to eliminate the need for temporary videos.

    Sorry about the essay.

  • Thanks for explaining the deinterlacing process you used! I just bought a new camera and was annoyed at the difficulty(impossibility) i had editing footage with it. Ill try the method you explained now.

  • apa punya videos tak beast

  • this is the same video that tinkernut used in his video 0:03

  • Huh? I looked through his videos (he only has 2) and I didn't see anything which looked like it had been copied from anyone else's videos.

  • actually, i find this ideo quite soothing, very artistic lol

  • OMG, your brother owns a Warbeast guitar?

  • kerry king sig wartribe XD (btw, im his brother. seriously XD

  • 1234 Views GET

  • OMG WELL IM THE 1337th VIEWER.

    HOW EFFING LEET!!

  • spoiled!!!!! haha

  • What software did you use to put it on youtube.

  • Please check the bottom of the video description because I do explain this.

  • The clip of the plane landing is incredible. As is the audio. Good stuff!

  • what kind of camera did you use?

  • It's a Sony HDR-SR12E. There's much more info in the video description ;)

  • oh sorry, i swear i read the entire description and couldn't find it

  • Looks Pretty, but what's with the frame rate?

  • The frame rate is 25 per second, the PAL standard, as with almost all of my videos. Perhaps your computer's struggling to play HD video at YouTube...?

See if the lower-quality, so-called "high quality" version (got by adding &fmt=18 to the end of the URL) plays back more smoothly. However, that version is not HD, and the entire point of this video is that it's in HD. Without HD, it's just a collection of random rubbish. =P

  • That was a random

  • @lolifoxboxer: That's a little piece of music I made a few years ago which was originally going to be used in a rhythm-based game I was intending to make (but never actually got round to making). The idea was that there would be lots of separate samples and the game would play some together to build up the music (e.g. beat, bass, melodies). In the clip here, I just mixed a bunch of them together myself. What you hear is almost all that there is (it's just a loop, about 16 seconds long). =/

  • Damn look this video! looks damn good! 5*

  • just love that USB stick

  • Haha, I wonder if Youtube will ever have surround sound support...

  • Yes please. My laptop has 5.1 :D

  • For some unexplainable reason, this video is a masterpiece...

  • I love videos like this. Plus, it'd always be nice to come back to this years later and go "Oh yeah, I remember that. Good times." Yep. Definitely.

  • 1:57 LOL ur cats like.. i dont care.

  • Nice Camera.

  • 4:13

    Wow!

How much broadband power is that?

  • What did you use to deinterlace the video?

  • I used TMPGEnc 4. With it, it's very simple to keep both fields and double the FPS (something which I've found to be rarer than I expected among programs which deinterlace). I'll add software info to the video description now (sorry, I forgot).

  • I envy you.

  • You guys where playing psychosocial? Record it lol

  • @chizley: That's my brother's band. I asked if I could upload the full performance but he thought it was too crap (the bass player didn't even bring his bass either xD). He's having the band over at our house again soon so hopefully he'll let me record a good-enough performance for him to let me/him upload.

  • Cool :P

  • Funny Video. The cat and the Gaming Session are very funny.^^

  • happy happy happy ~

  • Very good video, you have an awesome cat. xD

  • nice. that fat bird with twigs for legs at 4:18 makes me laugh so much for some reason
