sceptic, nightshot (otherwise known as 0 lux) is proprietary to Sony. Panasonic has a lot of great things like REAL 5.1 surround as opposed to simulated, faster focus time, and a better lens, but Sony is the leader in touch screen, ease of use, and Mac compatibility. Plus the quality really is amazing.

actually, this camera has 5 microphones, so I think it is real 5.1 surround (not sure about the subwoufer part though)

This camera, like many Sony's, has a 0 lux rating in super night shot mode. Do any other makes have 0 lux? I'm not too concerned about better quality cameras like the Panasonic 3CCDs, but with the 15x optical zoom, 0 lux, 4MP stills, a HDD and the ability to record to memmory stick, can anything else compare for the price with those features (which are key for me) in mind? Thanks.

Amazing Camera, worth the money, BUT it's got two major drawbacks:

* Autofocus is REALLY bad.

* Colors are not so vivid like Panasonic 3ccd camcorders, for example.
