LOL Im just noticing MJ traveled on a lot of his possessions but he never got called for them look at his post play verse the Piston at 2:10 he clearly took at least 3 steps of his pivot.. No Call! MJ a master of deception lol
@avid3810 It is fast and that is the reason for the travel. At the speed he's moving it is very tough to really plant his foot and not slide it. The very least it is better than some of those 4 steps to the basket we see nowadays...
@brandonmccray First, this isn't the Pistons but the Knicks. Second, yes he travelled, but he did not take "at least 3 steps of his pivot". Watch his right foot, this is the pivot. He travels because he slides it one step, the moves with the left foot would be perfectly legal if he had not slid his right foot.
How easy it is to forget how good he was. Lebron and Kobe aren't even close to being as good. There should be a law made banning all comparisons to Jordan as it is flat out disrespectful
Jordan didn't invent the fade, but he sure as hell mastered it and expanded on its use....No one has so many different set-ups into the fade from both sides of the block as Jordan did. Your at his mercy in the post, he was always a threat to pass out of it, juke you and go around you, step-back.....i mean, the man is literally unguardable when he gets the ball there....You just hope he's off that night.
This video, though awesome, is only the tip of the iceberg. Jordan's post game was lethal, and he had EVERY move. He also invented/popularized many of the moves you see players use today. He was very intuitive in the post. His post game was on full display in the 1998 ECF, where he abused Miller and Rose in the post.
Jordan does real fade away jump shots while others do step back jump shots or turnaround jumshots. Jordan actually covers distance when he shoots a fade away thereby escaping the defenders outstretched hand. nobodies fade away is as effective as Jordan's ie jordan being able to effectively use that move during his third come back with the wizards
As good as Hakeem and McHale in the post, and obviously on a league on his own as far as perimeter players playing in the post is concerned. Kobe?, he copied every Jordan post (and perimeter) move, then took clases from Hakeem himself, and still isnt quiet as good a post player as Mike (much less on every other part of the game).
Thanks for the video, by the way, dont you have any clips of Mike taking hook shots, he looked really good doing them.
how can you dislike mj's post moves???
stupid! must be a kobe fan! TOOL!!!!

Exactly, he is travelling at 2:13 as well as at 2:22. But he does it so fast that it's diffisult to see it unless in slow motion.
