  • I just wanted to point out that the slow growth does not occur during the winter, that is a myth. The fast growth happens during the spring and early summer and those are the wider rings in a cross section. The denser slow growth occurs during the summer when there is less water and more heat. Zero growth happens in the fall and winter after the leaves beging to turn color and fall.

  • very nice video series, thanks so much for posting it. I need to go out and find a willow patch to manage now! I was dumb enough to start at #4 and work backwards, so some of my comments don't make sense!
