  • I have had good service with most airlines and bad service with all them just the same it makes no difference what so ever anymore. the only thing I have found that works a little is just try and be nice to whom ever I am dealing with,

    it helps sometimes but not every time.

  • I have never had a bad experience with Delta, sometimes things happen out of control....planes have to leave at a certain time because of airport policy's and runway take off time, etc...I never get upset at them because they do try their very best. I LOVE Delta!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In the late 70's I swear our company had a on going contract with Delta. When flying out from Toledo Express Airport to Atlanta GA then Shreveport LA . Going back home to Toledo was a joke. It was being BUMPED in Atlanta and spending a 3hr. wait in the Atlanta RED ROOM with complementary drinks etc. Didn't appreciate getting back to Toledo at 2:00 a.m. then looking for my car in a snow drift. Do they still BUMP you off your flight? Haven't ridden with them since work days. LOL

    every one knows your suppose to be at the airport at lease TWO hours before scheduled departure (especially during peck time) trust me i was at the airport 1 hour before departure and stood in-line 30-40 mins and would not make it through security in time and had to pay 50 dollars to catch the next flight. ( this was also delta btw)

  • @TheTopBloke Bullshit. Doors close 10 minutes prior. I was a gate agent for four years in two different cities and have flown all across the Delta network. NEVER will you find a flight closed an hour prior, let alone BOARDING an hour prior.

  • I HATE delta they cancelled my sisters pane everytime she comes out to visit so she ends up being super late. And the plane is cancelled because "theirs not enough people on the flight" so they switch all those passengers over to another plane so its a full flight to "save money" its so stupid! And they cancel like the night before the plane takes off! Its like if your going to do tht the least you can do is tell people ahed of time!

  • I have given up traveling by air, period. The service universally is just lousy. The entire industry made 300 million bucks on luggage charges in 2009, you'd think they could enhance their in-flight service a bit in tourist class.

  • I stopped flying Delta in 2004 because of a similar problem. They couldn't get me out on another flight that day and wouldn't put me up in a hotel and wouldn't even give me a discount voucher for a hotel. I was a broke college student at the time so I just stayed all night in the airport. I had the same thing happen with American Airlines a bunch of years later and AA put me in a hotel for free and bumped me up to business class on a flight the next day. AA has a loyal customer now.

  • When a plane is delayed this could mean that there could be ANY thing could be wrong, the most likely reason is a problem with the aircraft BTW my dad flys for delta so people like u can SHUT THE FUCK UP!!

We get finned by the FAA for a half second delay, aprox($27,550), ya we make exceptions but, seriously, you plan to clear security, get your bag checked through the ctx machine have your flight history clarified, Get through security, get to your gate, with in a minute? Hopefully no customs... But ya sorry for no time machine lady :)

  • The lst leg of our trip was from Detroit to DAYTON. Something so simple. We were to board at 7;30 Sun. three hours later we board. We spend the next 3 and a half hours on the run way, we sat so long we had to refuel after that they cancell. Next flight was two days away. SO to hell with work or children. 8 am monday were finnally rent car to get to Dayton DRIVE HOME FROM THERE . Delta is by far the worst airline we have ever flown NEVER AGAIN ps Still trying to find luggage. Bunch of SHIT

  • It says on your boarding pass (or baggage pass) that you should be at the gate 10 minutes prior to the time of departure.

They oversell on flights, have massive lines so people never make it on time, then make you pay late fines to reschedule the flight. Tried leaving from JFK twice on Delta and missed it both times, even though I arrived an hour and half before my flight. Ended up buying JetBlue instead of rescheduling.

    LOL!! I'm so glad that you liked it! There are a lot of people with Asperger's Syndrome out there. I read something recently where it's like 10% of the population. Some are more obvious than others. But anytime you see someone that has poor social skills for their age, and happily spends waaaaayyy too much time by themselves: they are Asperger's.   • thats a bummer. It happens with every airline not just delta. Also ATL is delta's biggest hub. Be aware that ATL is the busiest airport in the US so when there are delays they usually are big delays. And if weather comes in to play then its even worse. Lol believe me i have been through a delay and a holding pattern at atlanta. But delays and long lines happens with all airlines. Even british airways at london heathrow.

  • You know... this kind of stuff happens, not just with delta but with many other airliners as well,, planes can get delayed because of weather and many other reasons. And a airline MUST maintain its departure time. Its the peoples fault that they were late. Thats why most people recommend that people be at the gate AT LEAST 10 minutes before boarding so everyone can get on the plane. Oh and i've flown with Delta and their service is outstanding. DELTA DOES THEIR BEST.

  • I flew Delta, never again. The flight attendents asked us what we wanted to drink, they got our orders. We were in our desent to land into ATL when they gave us our drinks. We had to land with cup fulls of soda in your lap. I spilt mine. I was sticky in a very bad place. Then from ATL to DFW they got our oerdes and we never got our drinks.   • @CathayGuy It is not an FAA Reg. I work for Delta pre-NWA they can hold the airplanes but they choose not to. Yes Delta sucks is an understatement. Wish NWA would come back they didn't have the greatest customer service but they did get the customers from A to B and WOULD HOLD the airplanes if there were a lot going to misconx.

  • @fordairport I have been a Pilot for a quite a while now, and for one thing that can really piss me off and other pilots is the fact that passengers that didn't allow them selves enough time between their connection or were late to the airport! It really screws up the traffic pattern! and other passengers on board prefer not to wait for other passengers to board because their late! and really One thing is for sure All American based airlines have really poor service!

Pretty much all the time, I am the one who flies the planes. Wow and yes I have had really bad experiences with United, and US air, but this seems pretty bad. Little tip, I don't like to mean to people and I hope you can take back what you said to me earlier but, heres what I recommend. Fly American for Domestic and Cathay for Intl.

I know that coordinating flights and passengers, and dealing w/ things like weather, etc. can be a difficult, challenging and monumental tasks for airlines at times. That's my whole point. Most of the other airlines seem to (for the most part) try their best, and seem to at least PRETEND to care. HOWEVER, this one airline, DELTA, does not

    Yes, you are right. All of the American airlines DO SUCK. They do not care about the passengers: they act like they're doing us a favor! It used to be so different, But of the airlines that I HAVE been on, Delta has been the worst. The best airline? The European budget airline: Ryanair! They have courteous staff and are always on time! You can tell that they care and try hard. I hope they continue the good service.

  • @angellife21 Did you ever hear of the term "scheduled" air carrier? I have flown many, many times and hold the highest level of status in 3 different airlines. I have to disagree with your assertation that "foreign" airlines are better in customer service. I was on KLM once where the engine on a two engine 777-200LR failed because the mechanic put the wrong "oil" in the engine. I was delayed more than 24 hours and KLM didn't put me up in a hotel or pay for my food...etc. Delta DID!

The next day, in fact, my Delta flight DID wait 15 minutes to allow passengers from a connecting to flight to board. The difference? It was a slower day and the plane wasn't filled up (i.e., no stand-by customers to give OUR seatsto).Think before you jerk off next time, Mike. And we missed our flights because of the DELAY of Delta's connecting flights that we were on. They knew that these flights would land BEFORE our flights took off, however, they went and gave away all of our seats to stand-by customers because they are greedy bastards who don't give a crap about their customers.

  • I taken a Delta flight from LAX to ORD, and during the 6 hr flight, I got sick, and I almost threw up. When we landed, I said "The flight is terrible! I'll take any flight to anywhere, NEVER AGAIN DELTA AIRLINES!!!" =(

  • Delta Airlines is so fucked as are most of the other carriers. That's why I fly Southwest. They turn a profit every quarter, didn't take government bailout money AND they don't charge for checked baggage.

    This checked baggage horseshit was the last straw for me. They're raping you with holiday ticket prices so for a little extra rape they say, "oh you have a bag?! well that's $35 extra. now bend over......hold on, just gonna slide it in there. ahhhh that feels so good."

  • I just flew on AirTran to Florida. What a difference! Polite, organized, and actually concerned about people making their connections. However, they do charge $15 for luggage. That's tacky. Now you see all these people with carry-on luggage only. However, you can't take liquids and certain items on carry-on. So, if you need those items, then you would have to buy them at your destination.

  • They sure as fuck did the next day. However, let me emphasis: the planes had not left the airport yet! They would not board us because they had obviously given away our seats to other passengers. The next day though, the plane was not full. As a result, the plane took off 5 minutes late so that we could "wait for other passegers coming in from another Delta connecting flight." You don't know what you are talking about and I hope it happens to you so that you can see!

  • Dear, They give the seats to stand by passengers.30 min before departure. They did not have time to transfer the bags . and the paper work must have been closed . On Iternational flights it's very complicated.  . And yes I do know what I am talking about. I have worked for the airline for 20 years as flight crew. No need to swear, Life is short...   • Actually I am a very happy person, with lots of friends. I do however get angry when I am treated poorly and unfairly. That includes being treated poorly by a business of which I am a customer (such as an airlines). That also includes when I am treated poorly by being talked down to by condescending people who are also misogynist. Yes, I do speak up for myself. Perhaps you feel that all women should be docile doormats and take any and all kinds of crap with a smile.

  • yea because the schedules im sure were different they have different schedules every day they can accommodate longer holds depending on the connecting flights. and most defiantly if its out of the largest airlines in world's hub.
