  • good song ;

  • 77 was basically a reaction upon that 67-69 was betrayed.

No future et cetera but you US-ppl never really got that...

  • Free love and peace. Punk and the hippie culture had a message that was larger then themselves, they were speaking out against something they felt was unjust and wrong. Both generations had a voice and a message, and it's a damn shame ours hasn't gotten one yet.

  • Christ, people. No shit punk rockers don't wear flowers in their hair. Both hippies and punks were very powerful influences on the music scene in the past. They were "revolutionary", you could say. Both 77 and 69 were powerful years for the genres. 77 was the beginning of the punk rock explosion, and 69 was when Woodstock was held. Both years were revolutionary. She longs for revolution, which both genres had, not to be some conflicting chick who thinks she can be a punk while preaching

  • good song but i think it would be better with a little bit of instrumentals in it

  • what a god awful song

  • It's a great song..i love it :))

  • This song is amazing ... I love it :)

  • why would a punk rocker wear flowers? do you mean hippies? and what's stopping you being a punk rocker? there's plenty of them kicking about. you're talking a load of shit woman.

  • @krisseeboy08

you completely missed the point of the song

  • How can 42 people be the 1 146 172 viewer? That doesn't make any sense.

  • Love this song don't now why lmfao

  • Good video :)

  • Oh i wish id meet a hippie girl with flowers in her hair, in 77 and 69 revolution was in the air. I was born too late into a world that dosen't care.

  • Ah, good times...

  • I was looking for this song for so long I couldn't find it then I was installing old music on my computer and I found it and I can say this is my favorite song :D

  • Awesome song, and of corse punk rockers had flowers in their hair... idiots!

  • 0:05 Booties x.x

  • How can someone dislike this? It's beautiful <3

  • =)!!!

  • A punk rocker with flowers in their hair; that's one hell of an oxymoron.

  • What is this...... Punks don't wear flowers in their hair..... seriously what the fuck O.o

  • Yes thumbs up if your listening to this in 2012.... But if you wish you 69 <3

  • ... but at least I finally I have a chance to break into the music scene with my songs:-

    1) 'i wish i was japanese, living up until my death solely in mexico' .

    2) 'i love the moon, you know; the giant burning ball of gas in the sky during the day'

    3) 'PUNKS DIDN'T HAVE FLOWERS IN THEIR HAIR YOU IDIOT, LEARN SOME POPULAR HISTORY; WHO RELEASED THIS TRIPE!'

no. 3 is a B side, very mellow.... you know; like Red bull.

  • Though most comments here agree that this song is nonsense, both in areas like punks having flowers in their hair or heads of states playing guitar being apparently a bad thing (WTF, why mention it!?); the nonsense actually validates the entire song. Back in those days a record label would not release any old bullsh.t to make a quick buck, would make sure a song made sense, had the likes of Hendrix etc to compete with. Now we mostly have same generic fake rubbish in all forms of entertainment.

  • nude guy...

  • I'm still listening in 2012! :)

  • Sell out!

  • Shes Propa Fit i wanna fuck her

  • I used to think the words were ' i wish i was a pom pom girl with flowers in my hair'.......

  • i really wish i was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair...

  • @13raybain there has not been nothing since then and actually if it wasn't for the last 20-30 years or so you wouldnt even have been able to post your silly comment, think next time before you type

  • @ElenaEmma237 if you added thumbs up to that message you are liars coz only 1 person could be that viewer

  • Comment removed

  • You have to be 50 to appreciate that this song is bang on. In 1979 the scene for me was motorbikes, Madmax and punk playing local venues everywhere. I remember thinking back then that I'd missed out missing the hippy scene in the sixties. Punk was a peaceful freedom of protest and expression. Since the 70's there has been NOTHING, a big blank space filled with people staring at screens, like me now. Kids reduced to having to wear other blokes name on their pants to be cool. A great song!

  • @ElenaEmma237 I am still, and you posted this a week ago :\

  • Nice message. Just too bad it contributes to the fake industry instead of fighting it. Just look at the related videos. Revolution is coming so relax but don't fucking betray it before it starts.. Ooone solution!

  • such a good song

  • is she still alive?

  • Oooh memories haha I used to ALWAYS sing this song. I still love it

  • Punk rocker don't wear flowers in their fucking hair.

  • @seigneur548 No shit. 77' and 69' are also two different years, she's trying to mesh two of her i guess favourite years together, 1969=flowers 1977=punk rockers i dont like the song but the message is chill

  • URGH NO!

  • @ElenaEmma237 wow...You to? :)

  • I've got a daisy flower hair band and I was wearing it when I went into Typo the lady behind the counter said that I reminded her of this song. and I was like punk rocker? and he sings "punk rocker with flowers in my hair" LOL me: "oh I remember that song, it's awesome, thanks"

  • i <3 this song

  • I never really noticed it before but my goodness!!!!! How crap is her voice!!! This probably isn't the place to say so right enough. Its another one of those big black horse and cherry tree kinda songs. Catchy the first couple of times but then after that it gets so incredibly irritating!Thankfully they come and go. I'm still in my liking it time. I've got about two more listens to go before I develop a vehement and rancorous hatred for this song. I'll just enjoy it while I can:)

  • @iseeeverythinginmono i think her voice is great

  • WE NEED A REVOLUTION!

    REVOLUTION 2012 :) <3

  • no indecency, fully-clothed, merely walking around - and still so popular. You go girl!!

  • scroll up dude!!! your'e missing the video!!

  • @rachelisinsane its a music video you dumbfuck

  • @Palmen1990 learn to take a joke, you shit for brains git

  • @rachelisinsane u seem mad, u ok?

  • @Palmen1990 nahh, im not mad, but when people call me a dumbfuck i tend to retaliate.

  • @rachelisinsane clever rach... clever ;) xxx

  • @rachelisinsane so r u

  • fits up wi the dude running naked at the end?????????

  • @doggie2943 he is living his life

  • i love this song

  • I was born in the wrong generation too :/ But I don't want to be a hippie -.-U I wanna be a PUNK ROCKER.

  • so we know everything now do we?

if i meet her im going to ask for the complete genetic setup of the T-rex, so i can recreate it and make a "pretty" unic soup from it, and i think i'm gonna serve it with white garlicbread and coca cola.

    man, some meal, huh?

  • i think she meant:

"oh, i wish i was hippy with flowers in my hair" because i have never seen a punk with flowers in their hair

  • @FLEXskateboards no, she's talking about 2 eras, 1969 and 1977

  • Revolution is still in the air... And punk is still alive.

  • oh, and in the 60s there was no fucking punk rock

  • @dddddddd8106 the stooges. You dickwipe.

  • @FlyingFishify at the time of the stooges in the 60s their music was not labeled as punk. Punk first as a movement originated in england 77 (maybe ramones would be an exception), stooges belong to the garage sound.

  • @dddddddd8106 idiot! she said '69 because woodstock was in '69!!!!

  • @AwesomePunkRocker9 and what the fuck does woodstock has in common with punk? probably you cannot give a decent answer because you're obviously an idiot.

  • If you wish you were a punk rocker, why don't you be one? fuck, this song is full of cliches, confuses hippies with punks geesh, thats what pop is for hells shake, stay away from punk

  • Best song ever... too bad she's not doing a lot...:( i mean

  • tune of my childhood!

  • This really reflects me, i really wish i was a punk rocker in the 60's... but id skip the flowers.

  • Sitting here doing computing GCSE controlld assesment this song just seems perfect to explain how I feel (Yes I know I double posted)

  • Amazing song, loved it when I first heard it and still love it now 5 years on

  • If she was a punk with flowers in her hair she'd get the piss kicked out of her by all the other punks. Why? Cuz that's not punk!

  • @vlagtr ph. wrong. this old far away time was even hendrix quite punky

  • This song brings tears to my eyes... It just fills me up with a sense of longing and unfulfilled whimsy.

  • "When the head of state didn't play guitar," I don't get this, why is it a bad thing? I thought she sang "when the had of state did play guitar" because I thought it was a good thing for the head of state to care about music and play guitar. Or something

  • this was my auntie's favourite song when she passed, when ever i hear it i think of her, it would have been her birhtday on the 7th, RIP Helen God bless xxx

  • tunnee

  • Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with piercings in my nose.

  • this song rocks she has a good voice unlike the computerized rubbish today

  • So i heard this song for the first time this day on the radio(i never listen to the radio)(it is extcually a anti-radio song a little bit)

And i was thinking Wauw i feel like this voor 15 years from when i was i think 10 years old!

    What a great song!!!

  • Punks don't wear flowers in their fucking hair.

  • @brucinda01 punk rockers do...

  • @brucinda01

it's an analogy for the punk and hippie movements.

    '77 = punks. '69= hippies

  • @martooxxx i think he is a little bit stupid and don`t get the beautiful context of this song!

  • @KinderenAltijdPrijs1

there's a big difference between ignorance and stupidity.

  • I remember back in the day when it was leavers day for Year 6 in my primary school, we all had a BBQ and cakes and just chilled, and they put this song on and everyone sung too it, wow, how I miss those days, so happy. :)

  • i was in love with that song long time ago. and i couldn t learn the name of it. years later, now i found it i m so happy and yeah, this song is really good :)

  • Luv this song! <3 It may be old, but it will stay in our hearts forever! :) x <3

  • punk rock was not official till 77...i was born in 69...yes u had bands that were punk before the name punk...the sonics ,sky saxon the seeds love ...ect ect...i was born in 69 the summer of love ..my folks made love or just fucked on haight st sf ca usa...and im here 42 yrs later.....no one was wearing flowers in there hair..in a whiter shade...exept procol harem....and not many of u who like this song even get what this artist was talking about......so to my point...case closed

  • This has officially changed my life. i love this song. i just can't get over it. LOVE IT!!!

  • I love this song and for many of you that made rude comments you just don't understand how people really coped with poverty.

  • If she was a punk rocker with flowers in her hair she'd get the shit kicked out of her by other punk rockers, for having flowers in her hair.

  • ''Media couldn't buy your soul''

  • i just wish i was a punk rocker.. without the flowers.....

  • I hated this song sooo much when it came out. I think it was just completely overplayed.

  • I WISH I WAS PUNK ROCKER WITH A RED HEAD'ED BITCH IN MY WATER BED

  • @amy1teto1jazzie1 that happened to me once, LOL

  • one problem Ive never seen a punk rocker with flowers in their hair ..she means 5 foot tall Mohawk and a nail in the forehead just didn't rhyme

  • she's damn right.

  • In 2011, revolution is most definitely still in the air.

  • @CoN0R115 not the same revolution

  • @TALLI2 Of course not.

  • @CoN0R115 ohh not its not:(

  • @jackfantoe google "arab spring" or "occupy movement".

  • @CoN0R115 where? all i see is some whiney kids blocking the roads in financial districts?

  • @danjulification The global occupy movement is much, much more than a few "whiney kids blocking roads". You must be pitied for your ignorance really. Anyway, I was mainly referring to the Arab Spring which was and is a revolutionary wave that has and is spreading across the Arab world, and has influenced largescale protesting in Western countries.

  • @CoN0R115 neh, i believe rhat next love summer never come

  • @CoN0R115 doubt it

  • @jensheid doubt you.

  • @CoN0R115 no doubt

  • anyone think she looks like faye from big brother?

  • This song makes me feel free, its perfect a feel good song...

  • Although it had it's good points, the past was not perfect. It was about as perfect as the world now.

  • One hit wonder.

  • when did punks wear flowers in their hair.....fuckin retard sing

  • @dspikey She's wishfully talking about combining the revolutionary aspects of the 60's hippies and the 70's punks as nowadays, society seems to be far too apathetic.

  • @dspikey She never said punk rockers wore flowers in their hair, she said that's what she wanted to be. Like an accountant with a green mohawk. Idiot.

  • @Sagaxful that wud b epic to c. a accountant with a mohawk!

  • @dspikey true :))

  • @dspikey So you're an expert in punk and know what punks dress like? FYI it's not just all late teenage/early twenties guys in studded jackets with mohwaks.

  • Why would 170 people need to come back 4 years later to understand the lyrics?

  • used to be my favorite song wen i was about 7 :) new all the words

  • I used to sing along to this when i was younger, forgot about it til now!

  • 5 pounds to make that video, I'll bet :P

  • I loved it when she ran dead fast :D

  • This song is like pre-hipster.

  • why is miley cyrus in the suggested videos??

  • My mom says Sandi read my mind :)

    I'm 13 and that song couldn't fit better (:

  • Love this song, I was around nine/ten. Lovely voice and people who say the lyrics are dumb should think again, I find nothing stupid with them and the singer's face stayed neutral which must have been a challenge.

  • So true.

  • GOOOOOOD, REALY GOOOOOD :D

  • brings back memorys

  • Alright,I listened this for the first time and I had no idea what the title is! A girl sent this to me and i was like " WADAFUUUUUCK?!"

  • trying to hard to be "retro" and "knowing" the "truth" in the older generations. just bleh.

  • You guys raving about how she 'understands' realise she probably didn't write this, right?

  • Isn't it weird that this song is 4 years old yet were still obsessed with it? o.O

  • She really must not know her musical history if she thinks punk rockers wore flowers in their hair. Another thing, how was she born too late? Punk is still thriving today.

But she does have some good points, people are manipulated by the media nowadays. Back then free thinking was the best trait a person could have! It still is!

  • I  this song!

  • I used to love this song, but jesus, Im just realizing this right now, the lyrics are incredibly dumb, and the music, well... let's face it, it's garbage... Im glad I finally grew up.

  • the lyrics that have a deeper meaning are usually seen as stupid, for their meanin has usually gone over the people who just listen to music for entertainment, such as today's listeners, songs like this are usually for the people who will listen to the song and actually realize something or think twice about what was sung. to be honest there was nothing i could see as "bad" in this music video it is one of the songs that actually is music, self-expression, kids today >.>

  • @egorapter - Are you seriously giving me the "kids today" speech? If you could realize you were the one who should recieve it, you'd see how pathetic you sounded. This is easy popular mainstream bullshit who's been on every crappy radio station for 4 years, and Im actually ill at ease just thinking about how ignorant it is of you to speak about the lyrics depth. If you think those words are deep, I truly pity you : ignorance is not a bliss. Read your own comment for a better developped answer.
