I'm a Cowboys fan, and this loss to the 49ers hurt so bad. But looking back at it now, this was a GREAT 49ers team that was just better than Dallas that year. Nah, that was the 49ers year. They snatched Norton away from Dallas. They signed Deion for chump change. That was as epic a rivalry as there has ever been. Even as a 49er fan, I appreciate what the Cowboys brought to the game and how they made victory seem so much more meaningful to 49er fans, in the same way that they had made defeat so much more devastating.

Nah, that was the 49ers year. They snatched Norton away from Dallas. They signed Deion for chump change. The Cowboys were banged up heading into that game (Emmitt Smith had an injured hamstring and wound up injuring the other one during the game). And unlike the previous two seasons, the 49ers offense really was unstoppable in 1994. The only team that could've beaten the 49ers from mid-season onward were the 49ers.

young wasnt a 49er until he won the big game. You cant give someone respect in football until they prove they can play in the biggest game and young was able to finally accomplish that in 1994-1995 season

Even as a 49ers fan i will admit the Cowboys were the team of the 90's... But you guys nabbed Charles Haley from us (1992?) who was arguably the best DE / OLB of the 90s. Without him, you would not be winning those superbowls...

c'mon man, yes the cowboys did beat them the previous two years, but that wasn't the 94 team, they added charles haley, deion, william floyd, ricky watters had his best season ever, top 5 defense, and top offense in the league, that team was unstoppable. they plowed through everybody, 44-15 over chicago, 38-28 over dallas, and 49-26 over san diego.....thats 131-73 in the playoffs......domination

That was as epic a rivalry as there has ever been. Even as a 49er fan, I appreciate what the Cowboys brought to the game and how they made victory seem so much more meaningful to 49er fans, in the same way that they had made defeat so much more devastating.

Steelers of 94 were clearly the best team in the league. Just choked against the Chargers. They would have stomped San Fransisco. By the way, riverheel said 5-0 best Super Bowl record. Pittsburgh is 6-1.

Now now, let's be realistic: The Steelers had a good year in 94..............But as a Steeler fan, even I knew the 94 Steelers had weaknesses: They didn't have enough punch on offense..........they couldn't score when they had to (i.e. 94 AFC title game).
Having said that, I was so glad the 9ers ended the Cowboys bid for a 3-peat............the real Super Bowl was in fact played in SF in 94.
Had the Steelers made it in 94, SF still would have beaten them.......just being realistic.
