I like the studio version, this one is magic, when comes the mellotron softly, who can say they're not good musicians? This album contains especially the best version of "Stairway to Heaven", and " No quarter", and the master piece "Dazed and Confused", far much better than the first album version!
@BALKISDREAMER No quarter & Dazed took on a whole new life on this double live.
I like to revisit studio & live with LZ .Made In Japan & All the worlds a stage..don't want to hear the studio versions of those anymore.I waited for TSRTS to come out
having the previous albums & at first I was kinda turned off by the exaggeration or what seemed to me to be such an over the top deviation from the albums, not for long though.
never understood why people watch music vids they don't like and write negative comments,if I think something sucks I just leave.I grew up in that time era and although I got to see lot of great bands we had the shittiest quality of tapes and records.try listening to this on an 8-track tape with a matchbook wedged in the player so it wouldn't eat the tape lol.thank god we had real LSD back then

thank you for posting this. to be at this concert and to feel the ambience of this live, if you were there i hope to god you were listening.... but then again how could you not?
Wow...I remember when you first posted this and there were, like, 400 views! I agree, this is the best version I've heard (including the studio recording). Thanks!
Just noticed it was 11 dislikes, that was the same amount that died at a Who concert around 1978....Yeah I know The Who true fans have a hard time with Zeppelin, but we will forgive you. The Rain Song is one of the best songs ever created by mankind....
These are the bands that changed the world: Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who, Deep Purple, Iggy & The Stooges, Bad Finger, King Crimson, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Atomic Rooster, Captain Beyond, Hawkwind, The Eagles, Dust, and David Bowie. These are the bands from the first movement...
I'm 49, and really would have been so lucky to see zepp live. there will never be another led zeppelin, who ever saw them live back in the day can die knowing they saw the greatest concert in history where ever that was!!!!!!!!!
hehe, funny story, they called the band led zeppelin cos one of d guys from "the who" knew them and said if they made a band, it would have about as much success as a lead zeppelin.
5:10 - 6:00 jimmy pages riffs are soo power full and soo much emotion, along with robert plants screams and singing, such a great chemistry with all the band members
@robdrums69 im 16, and no i am not one of those gay 16 year olds saying " i am 16 and i like led zeppelin how shocking rightt!?!?!" for attention, its not a surprise that they are my favourite band because i fucking love them, and every single song on every single lp is fucking amazing and their live performances like this blew people away, just a bit gutted i can only listen to them through speakers and not live
@zephendrixcobain dude you are so right. I am 18 and have loved Led Zeppelin since before i can remember. True talent that you will never see again today. Hopefully sometime in the future this music may enter our lives live instead of on computer. Sometimes I just gaze upon the open road thinking, where did all the talent go? Am I dreaming? Music today has no purpose. Rap Rhymes oh good job rappers! Classic Rock is played from the Soul and Heart. Thats how true music is created
I agree upoader. This is an excellent performance. There is a good version with Pant and Page where Jimmy plays acoustic and he and Plant are both seated with a string orchestra behind them and a double-bass player. It is excellent too. It's among the favourites on my channel. Check it out if you haven't heard it. Thanks for this version!
OMG I WENT TO THIS SHOW AT KEZAR STADIUM LEE MICHEALS AND THE TUBES PLAYED. TOO.... WAS AN ALL DAY CONCERT.. AND IT COST A HUGE $10.00... IT WAS THE BOMB!!!!! @blaumausfrau You may be right as it is all arguably subjective. I am intrigued though by your comment and wonder what you think the most beautiful song ever written is. I would certainly give it a good listening to.
This song, and so many others, is the epitomy of Led Zeppelin: Led/heavy Zeppelin/light. 4 of the greatest individual musucians, but not greater than the whole. Yep Neilzep, no one will ever come close.
Who will forget the first time they heard Led Zeppelin?!!!! I played the first tune 4 or 5 times before I went to the next track!: Good Times, Bad Times.
ESTO ES ABSOLUTA INSPIRACION excelente, la escucho siempre, lo mejor para todas estas bandas que marcaron el camino de la paz, el amor y de todo el rock que escuchamos, gracias por el video! amigo !!
When the album came to light and the movie.I was 11 and played it far beyond counting.Jimmy is and always be one who can sweep u into the folds of rocks blessed players,To argue who is the best is pointless to me as now at 48 I still play the album at least ten times a year and the movie is even better.Truly the epic band that takes the breath from those devoted to their style.Zep goes into rock fame and legends remain the same
This song conjures up so many memories for me as a 53 year old.Every chord is another year receding into the mist every note a smile of a friend waving goodbye another Autumn another Spring another lifetime.
This is the most beautifull song ever written! The guitar is just every emotion a human can feel! And the lyrics.. so.. true and full the way this is played it just cant describe it, masterpiece!
I am 45..and heard enough music....These guys were not of this Earth. Legends that walked this earth, never to be matched again....brutal talent never to be emulated again.
@neilzep I first heard them in SF in 69. I was about 10 feet away. In fact you could go right up to the edge of the stage and listen to them since there was no seating (we sat on pillows that we brought along with us). The audience was kewl. They knew these guys were messengers from the gods. The Zep IS a peak religious experience. There is no question about it. I pray for the day when young and old shall hear the music of the gods again.
@mujaku You were fortunate, they were a little before my age group. Never saw them,do remember when they broke up in '80 and add Lennons death few months later...That was a blow to music.
@neilzep: most likely why their record label was called "Swan song". Btw Plant was on a radio interview in the late 90's and dealing with the inevitable "reunion" tour questions. He was brilliant, saying that he had no interest in that, for Led Zeppelin was a musical moment, an experiment in time, place and personnel, and that he had moved on into other realms musically and that when he looked on those years he held it as special Magick.
@neilzep ... Look up Terry Reid on YouTube, he was friends with both Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, When Jimmy Page asked Reid to sing in his group, Reid declined, and although Reid did great, he really belonged with these guys... Who became The Great Led Zeppelin.
@ChristyLove816 Recently discovered Terry Reid and he's remarkable. Incredible range both vocally AND emotionally. I love Plant, but sometimes I think he couldn't match Jimmy's emotionally raw guitar playing, so he just went over-the-top to compensate. I know, Robert was the way to Bonzo, but I think Jimmy was so clued into the scene he would have found Bonzo, anyways. But I guess everything happened as destiny dictated and we did get the best band ever.
@MagickZoso True about Plant but it's the raw uncomplicated vocals that so well complimented Pages brilliant play. He [ Plant ] certainly added a beautiful tone of his own making to many songs as well making Zep one of the best ever. Not sure how a duo of better making could ever be devised!!
@neilzep I am 42 and I totally agree - - so many memories and I am sick of the crap the radio plays these days - RAP has taken over and I think it's crap! LOL
@robdrums69 - Also, the radio you grew up with 600 years ago is not the same radio of today. DJs don't get to play the songs they like, aside from shitty college stations. The radio is a corporate subsidized tool to force feed gruel to dumbasses that don't know any better. Which, explains why you're not aware of this fact.
@SuperDiscoGodfather of course I know corporations have made radio what it is today - you forgot to mention that it also has to do with the fkn idiot record execs signing shitty bands, that they know the young kids will buy --guarantee their money, because thats the musical taste now.. I don't need to grow shit buddy. I have an open mind all the time for music - just get rid of Puff Daddy - the guy has no talent ..
@mcbrowncb - No sir, get your ass kick while you're at it. Also, sure, people can have a preference or even preferences. BUT, just because they like one thing more than another, doesn't mean that what they don't like doesn't have merit. And people said you'd be stupid for dropping out in 8th grade. Glad to see you proved them wrong.
@SuperDiscoGodfather Did I say that the music they didn't like doesn't have merit, no I didn't. So get smart ass wipe and actually read my reply. You're just an asinine bitch that thinks he's got an answer for everything. Grow up, you don't. You've been taught your whole life that people can have their own opinion about anything, this isn't new you idiot.
@robdrums69 - And, what's your point? I'm sick of old outdated fucks and their poor comprehension. There are good rap songs, and good rock songs. Good techno, good punk, good ska, good whatever. Don't be so narrow-minded, it makes you look ignorant.
Different era, different style, different inspirations: Beatles were by rock n roll when Zeppelin were a band inspirated by blues, and it's ok, U can compare but in a specific therms. Wasn't my intention make another fight xD just saying that both are great (and too, my favourite of both is Zepp) but u just can't say which one is the greatest in every single way (: greetings
Lol, why are u all fighting to see which band is better between The Beatles and Led Zepp? Both are great bands and both are my favourites..... U just can't compare! They're different in so many ways!!! A 16 year old girl is saying it (:
Led Zeppelin has had an influence on my life since a young child. I am only 23, but I grew up to the sounds of Rock and Roll and I have to say that Led Zeppelin is the best Classic Rock band of all time. The music will continue to be enjoyed for generations to come. They are one of a kind, and by no means compare to anything else I've ever enjoyed listening to.
@misskota I am 42 but i have started with blues and Led Zeppelin like every real musician should do, dont see other way.At the moment i play reggae music but love for real, not empty music is still in me and when i see whot this pop artist sing and play my knife open itself in my pocked, he he...
Even comparing them to the Beatles is like apples and oranges. Both were the best at what they did. Just tragic how zep came to an end. Got laid to zep alot in the ;late 70's and '80's, for sure.
Zeppelin schools the Beatles. No other band comes remotely close to bringing what Zeppelin brought. They changed everything and no one has brought that power since.
@nachitoxx7 Yep, definitely Elvis was Plant's first influence.and Presley's "Let's Play House" was the record that started Page playing guitar when he was 12. Zep and the King were even friendly, they met several times. They loved Elvis.
@nachitoxx7 I DONT THINK SO ..STONES AND ZEP WERE ABOUT THE SAME TIME.. I THINK U JUST PULLED THAT ONE OUT OF UR AZZ ...LOL I HAVE SEEN THEM BOTH LIVE AND THERE IS NUTHIN EVEN REMOTELY THE SAME BETWEEN THOSE TWO .. TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT STYLES
Are you serious??????? Bahahahaha! yeah the beatles can change music style from classical to heavy meatal to blues then to latin influential. Nice try buddy! Give me 10 Zeppelin songs the beatles could have done better than Led Zeppelin themselves. I want good examples because we are basically talking about a band here that pretty much did their homework when it came down to rock music. Its like saying the english invented soccer! yeah but the brazilians perfected it. Garbage!
@crawnjc82 The Beatles was a begining of pop, this is how i see it and theirs skils was so little that we shouldnt even talk about them when we talk about Led Zeppelin. Can you imagine that Robert is singing with Michael Jackson? That would be profanation of the truth.
@stagnut immigrant song, communication breakdown, achilles last stand (ringo wouldve died trying to do that lol), ramble on, stairway, kashmir, mate your NUTS lol
Fantastic song. The poster got it wrong though. It is from a live recorded concert at Madison Square Garden in about 1976. I have the whole concert on DVD.
@MrJobu73 It's from MSG in July, 1973. The movie came out in 1976. Zep didn't tour in 1976 since Robert was still recovering from a horrible auto accident.
The way Jimmy manipulates this sonically gorgeous song with varied intensity is absolutely amazing. The version of this particular song will live forever.
Amazing

@MagickZoso True about Plant but it's the raw uncomplicated vocals that so well complimented Pages brilliant play. He [ Plant ] certainly added a beautiful tone of his own making to many songs as well making Zep one of the best ever. Not sure how a duo of better making could ever be devised!!

@neilzep I am 42 and I totally agree - - so many memories and I am sick of the crap the radio plays these days - RAP has taken over and I think it's crap! LOL
robdrums69 3 weeks ago 19
@robdrums69 you mean cRAP.
guitarSGman 1 week ago
@robdrums69 - Also, the radio you grew up with 600 years ago is not the same radio of today. DJs don't get to play the songs they like, aside from shitty college stations. The radio is a corporate subsidized tool to force feed gruel to dumbasses that don't know any better. Which, explains why you're not aware of this fact.
Please try to grow the fuck up before you die.
SuperDiscoGodfather 1 week ago 2
@SuperDiscoGodfather of course I know corporations have made radio what it is today - you forgot to mention that it also has to do with the fkn idiot record execs signing shitty bands, that they know the young kids will buy --guarantee their money, because thats the musical taste now.. I don't need to grow shit buddy. I have an open mind all the time for music - just get rid of Puff Daddy - the guy has no talent ..
robdrums69 1 week ago 2
@SuperDiscoGodfather You're a dumbass. People have preference in music you bastard. You grow up. And get your ass kick while you're at it.
mcbrowncb 6 days ago
@mcbrowncb - No sir, get your ass kick while you're at it. Also, sure, people can have a preference or even preferences. BUT, just because they like one thing more than another, doesn't mean that what they don't like doesn't have merit. And people said you'd be stupid for dropping out in 8th grade. Glad to see you proved them wrong.
SuperDiscoGodfather 6 days ago
@SuperDiscoGodfather Did I say that the music they didn't like doesn't have merit, no I didn't. So get smart ass wipe and actually read my reply. You're just an asinine bitch that thinks he's got an answer for everything. Grow up, you don't. You've been taught your whole life that people can have their own opinion about anything, this isn't new you idiot.
mcbrowncb 6 days ago
@robdrums69 - And, what's your point? I'm sick of old outdated fucks and their poor comprehension. There are good rap songs, and good rock songs. Good techno, good punk, good ska, good whatever. Don't be so narrow-minded, it makes you look ignorant.

Different era, different style, different inspirations: Beatles were by rock n roll when Zeppelin were a band inspirated by blues, and it's ok, U can compare but in a specific therms. Wasn't my intention make another fight xD just saying that both are great (and too, my favourite of both is Zepp) but u just can't say which one is the greatest in every single way (: greetings
legendarycatdancer 1 month ago
@legendarycatdancer Beatles were like pop rock, that makes them be more commercial, that's why I prefer Zepp

Lol, why are u all fighting to see which band is better between The Beatles and Led Zepp? Both are great bands and both are my favourites..... U just can't compare! They're different in so many ways!!! A 16 year old girl is saying it (:
legendarycatdancer 1 month ago
whether you are a girl or how old you are doesn't matter at all. Give us reasons why you can't compare these two bands. Specific reasons.

@misskota I am 42 but i have started with blues and Led Zeppelin like every real musician should do, dont see other way.At the moment i play reggae music but love for real, not empty music is still in me and when i see whot this pop artist sing and play my knife open itself in my pocked, he he...
tomix1970pl1 1 month ago

Beatles versus Led zep not even a contest Bro, Beatles could have done any Zep song better than Zep !!!
stagnut 1 month ago
@stagnut
Garbage!
crawnjc82 1 month ago
@crawnjc82 The Beatles was a begining of pop, this is how i see it and theirs skils was so little that we shouldnt even talk about them when we talk about Led Zeppelin. Can you imagine that Robert is singing with Michael Jackson? That would be profanation of the truth.
