Ah, shucks, you're just saying that because of the felting--a craft usually only done by the elderly. Thanks so much for the sub; I've been subbed to your awesomeness for some time now and have enjoyed all your vids.
I read and listen to "Hope for Houseplants". wish your poetry was written in Portuguese, I thought. then I saw this one... your sense of humour is intriguing. loved how you ordered these facts. the song is good, but not the best part... :) pictures, class, poem, stuff, drawing. moving. nice to know more about you. I will get some food and think of "Bone Pebbles", still amazed. hope you're having a great week, my friend.
What a disparate collection of facts about you, but each one distinct. It is great you are so creative, with your own writing/making of objects and teaching. You are the kind of teacher that leaves their mark on their students and i am sure Harper's creativity can only bloom in your company. Touching piece here and so kind of you to share it.
and by the way, having now watched this for a third time, i must say, thats a cracking clip.i particularly like the sentiment of the opening gambit 'the internet isn't just something you dump things on,its a series of tubes'
thats very neat...it inspires us to approach it with respect and creativity,...and not to block those tubes...........terrific.
i know i should be ruminating on the actual content of this piece, but the truth is that moment of you in the classroom gave me this sudden and very clear sense of you.i'm not afraid to sound shallow,so i have to say, YOU LOOK FANTASTIC....what a thrill for those students to have such a'relative' teacher.they must adore you....a personality like you brings oxygen into a classroom...warmest and highest regards to you,Lo.
What happened to my comment? Anyway, I said something like: Content shmontent, if being shallow means you complement me in the sweetest way, screw depth! I'm at that point (forty) where every once in a while, I just want to look good. (though, next time I'll iron the tie).
Ah! I missed this! It wasn't sent to my usual email!?I Lo, this is very cool! I love that you're a teacher Gary fact 6 - I teach traditional art part time. Those pages of poetry rang a few bells also. I love seeing the creative process, my note books are a mess! Harper's got skills! This is a genuinely interesting selection of facts. Wonderful tag vid. Bravo.
LOL — I suspect you are one of that class of teacher whose students remember them for all the best reasons! Sweet picture by your daughter — how's her piano coming on?
Thermin: you are kind. I'm sure some of them remember me for less than positive reasons. But this particular class I really love. Harper is doing really well with her piano, no thanks to me. Thanks so much for taking the time. Lo
I can't wait for Michael's video either. And I suspect he may tag YOU. Being that you have no videos yet, it would be perfect. Are you listening Michael?
hi from rachel~horrible writing... it's a compulsion i'll never overcome. i am in total awe of anyone with the patience & skill to hone what they write into something that gleams and pierces, like your pieces. your feltwork also impressed the heck outta me, very very funky and nice! tell me again when and where you were in puerto rico?? i grew up in san juan. neat 5 facts. can't wait to see what your tagees come up with!
Rachel: Thanks for your very nice comment. I was in Aguadilla--the other side of the Island from San Juan, if memory serves. It was in the mid 80's. I love to felt, though I must say, I was really trying to come up with something for this video that didn't sound so incredibly boring--so I am glad to hear you appreciated it!
Thanks, Robby. I hope Michael is okay with the tag. I would love for him to do it. And, yes, that's me in the picture. Apparently, I was a big fan of the fish market.
Love this vid!
