She had just broken up with me after 2 and 1/2 years (which is a lifetime in high school). She was the first girl I ever loved....we grew up together and learned about life, love and hard knocks. I still can't believe she could just walk away and never talk to me or see me again. And women call men cruel and heatless.....
This is a beautiful song that I will be going out later today and purchase. Elton John is an awesome artist. This song is one of the best that I have heard in a long time.
I love this song, it reminds me of my brother who died in 1974 when he was only 18, I use to cry every time I heard it on the radio after his death, the lyrics struck so close to the bone. Hearing it now still brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for posting the actual recording.
