Why are you so proud of her being Christian or Lebanese? If she's Muslim, Jewish or Sudanese, you wouldn't love her? I don't care about her religion or nationality, I care about her music.
It's no strange we Arabs are very backward.
We Arabs hate each other, for example I'm Palestinian and I'm sure Lebanese people here would't like me just coz I'm Palestinian. I've been through many situations where Lebanese people would change their whole attitude towards me when they know I'm Palestinian.
I too care for her music not her identity, and would like her wherever she was from, but the fact that she is Lebanese makes me very proud obviously. Just as Egyptians are proud of Um Kulthum or Italians are proud of Pavarotti. Great artists are a source of national pride, and with good reason.
And yes, you're right that many Lebanese don't like Palestinians, but it's not backwardness or racism. It's because of the role that the Palestinians played in the ruin of our country. Yes, I know, you can deny and argue all you like, and you can say the Lebanese system is screwed up internally, and that we agreed to the Cairo Agreement, but the fact remains that the Palestinians did grave wrongs to Lebanon, specifically Abu Ammar and his PLO.
Brilliant! I was hoping I could find this song. My parents named me Talj (long story as I'm Texan), and they've always told me of this song. Thank you for posting it!
Guess what? The official language of my country, Malay, has many loanwords in Arabic...initially I had no idea that Thalj Thalj means Snow Snow, but when you mentioned it, it just dawned upon me about the heavy Arab influence on my multi-ethnic culture...because in Malay, we call snow "salji", and the Arabic letter "tha" is often read as "sa"...
its very nice and safe there___its full of gorgeous mansions____thats because ninety nine percent of the people from this very are millioners and over!
Nope...I'm a Chinese living in Malaysia...I first came into contact with Arabic songs when ART and Musiqaa came to my country in 2002...in addition to that, my best friend is a half-Lebanese; her father is a Lebanese from a village called Azki...it's somewhere near Tripoli...
discribing snow in lebanon in christmas:snow snow...its pouring down snow...and the stars are confused, and the flowers on the streets shivering, and the clouds are tired, and on top of the hills tents are glowing...and a cave still awake, with a baby inside,in his gorgeous eyes theres really big love...snow snow...and in evry heart and every prarie love has blossomed in it like the snow.then she talks about the birth of jesus...
It definitely is...I wish today's singers can follow her footsteps...Haifa Wehbe and Nancy Ajram of Lebanon, Rouby of Egypt and Najila of Tunisia, to name but a few...they think their looks and gyrations are more attractive than their voices...what do you think?
:( this brought tears to my eyes, my heart was crying. i havent been to lebanon for 13 years. listening of this song that reminds me of my childhood and christmas time has brought me beautiful memories. how i long to go back to lebanon and live there for ever. thank you so much for this peaceful video.

Dear Wasim,
I too care for her music not her identity, and would like her wherever she was from, but the fact that she is Lebanese makes me very proud obviously. Just as Egyptians are proud of Um Kulthum or Italians are proud of Pavarotti. Great artists are a source of national pride, and with good reason.

Any hatred they experience is a result of this.
