No, it is showing each of the characters profile and the way they died. To change the outcome of their date of death, a fighter must defeat Eternal Champion. Hopefully, Eternal Champions will be available for Sega Collection Vol. 2 along with Streets of Rage 1-3 in the future or many Sega fans like myself will be extremely disappointed.

yeah, come to think of it, did you know that the EC series runs deeper than EC and EC:CFTDS? you had a game gear game called Chicago Syndicate starring Larcen Tyler where you work to clean up the crime as in Larcen's ending. and X-Perts featuring Shadow Yamoto. pretty cool eh.

STI had plans to develop EC3: The final Chapter on Saturn. it's a very tragic story just like the characters in the game. Sega of Japan wanted the only fighting game on the saturn to be branded with the sega logo which was VF. STI was denied the chance to finish up the series. many of the team actually quit because of this

We all could agree about Eternal Champions being the best fighting game ever for the Sega Genesis. My favorite characters were of course Shadow and Larcen. The only thing that can really put this game over the edge is by remaking it for the Sony Playstation.
