  • I'm am? Got proof bitch? Well sorry it pisses you off fuckface. But I was trying to reply to "TheReaderWriter" and I accitentaly clicked on your comment you fucking douchebag so fuck off.

  • @Shonenut213 "An African American, black woman." Isn't that a bit redundant?

  • Typical stupid nigger. "It's ONLY racist when White people do." SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Shonenut213 Troll alert. Also goes by the name "The ReaderWriter".

  • @warfossil Are you trying to track down every comment I make? Fuck off you stupid stalker bitch faggot and fucking die you stupid ass mother fucker and go back to sucking your daddy's dick you fucking bitch ass queer faggot!

PS I'm not TheReaderWriter you fucking dumbass. So fuck off bitch!

  • @Shonenut213 Yes because I'm exposing you. You did challenge me and now that I took the offer you're going to complain. You're not to bright and very ignorant.

  • Why the fuck is some jew network covering this? Doesn't make sense. We already knew this and didn't need some white whore to tell us our business. Curious though, you've proven the sista's point. Since Obama's been in office every jew and jew dick sucker is standing in line to act as Black people's interpreter.

  • OWNERSHIP OWNERSHIP OWNERSHIP!!! When you REALLY own your own business you don't have to worry about bullshit like this. For years Susan Taylor was MARKETED to us as the EDITOR AND CHIEF of Essence magazine and although that may have been true it didn't mean she had OWNERSHIP. Whitey always owned Essence and now they are taking full creative control. Essence was always known for having the most beautiful Black female models. The kind of Black chicks Hollywood hides. Look out for half breeds now

  • c'monb cenk please be fucking consistant with your shaming god dammit I used to be a big fan of our till you showed your true colors!

  • Oh, I don't have a problem with a white fashion director being hired at Essence as long as black fashion directors or editors can have the same chance at Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, etc. If not then it is a problem. But the former Essence employee is right because white magazines still don't hire enough black people to do anything. Until it's on par then I don't think it is right. Buy hey, at least black people can say we are inclusive. The white mags can't.

  • I wonder: if a Black woman was hired at a predominantly White magazine company, would there be an uproar like in this case?

  • @GlassDoll1991 I think the problem is that kind of thing doesn't happen at the high levels so it all the more important that black women are hired as F.D. At essence otherwise Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, etc. need to pick up up the slack which they aren't unless you know more about the subject then I do(which you may)

  • @BushidoBrownSama That's a good point, too. Guess Blacks have to get in where we have the least bit of chance, huh? Hey, do you agree with me when I say it seems as though many of US are on the more welcoming side when it comes to stuff like this; we will just let anyone in regardless of anything. That's a good thing but it can also be dangerous!

  • People don't seem to understand that ANYONE can be a racist and discriminitive. These things aren't just reserved for certain groups of people. So all this stuff about "reverse racism" can go to hell. Nothing is "reversing." Humans are individuals and each of us are different and capable of hatred all on our own.

  • Racism is played out like the macarena, rick rolled, and hammertime. The only prejudice people should have is toward the stupid (with the capacity to be smarter), the lazy, and the corrupt.

  • @jeffthecoder I'm lazy as hell but don't tread on me please I job home from the school bus just so I can sit down!

  • @MrTTaylor25 "Lazy" depends on what type of person you are. Some people can say they are lazy for not having a job. Other people can say they are lazy for HAVING a job. Take the likes of John Lennon, Michael Jordan, or Stephen King. Knowing who they are and what they've accomplished, if they instead said "I need to get a job and stop wasting my time with music/basketball/writing", would they not be considered stupid and lazy? Knowing what potential these people had, wouldn't you disciminate?

  • People tell me reverse racism doesn't exist- I show them this video.

  • Thats funny places all over( hire black people) to make a qouta so they dont get shut down or sued , i went for a job one day and 16 other people applied also as welders at a shipyard the foreman looked at me and said you have the best weld and it past both non destruction, and the bend test , but u are the wrong color , i was the only white person out of 16 people

  • @Z7EXTREMEBABY Bullshit!

  • im super sik of the reverse rhetoric.... rhetorical question for u intellectual assholes, who promote a idea thts quite an axiom tht we are now all equal because u are and always had the utopia/american dream, is loyalt and devotion to ones race so wrong??? smdh

  • yalll so damn ignant lol for a people who still strugglin trynna cum up its not rite for a magazine dedicated to only blacks to hire someone not blk shid simple as tht 1+1=2 so u dont go takin opportunity frm ya own to feed someone when ya own house is starvin already inna fukd up state wit career opportunities thts jus not progressive wen u giv someone who can get a chance quite easily with their own shit an opportunity wen u can help ya own out its disloyal an unethical to ur ethnic group

  • @getitinordie365

    beautifully said

  • @dminus420 thank you!!! finally sumone sees the point in logical thinkin and replies lolbvfs. also thanks for not criticizing me over petty grammatical errors.

  • Maybe with this new chick at the helm the fashions will actually be more than Apple Bottom She By Sheree and Closet Freak...

  • @campcarlita With her at the helm we can expect more skin brightening creams to hit the market.

  • Lets not act like black people started racism... i mean damn can't black people be a little suspicious of white people.. i mean shit we got to love them and sweet talk with them, after they have murdered are forefathers, put us in slavery and killed every nigga they could find...That black women is not racist, she is just suspicious of that white women's motives... And i sure in the hell can not blame her... SHIT!!!!!

  • @jackson7201 All the employees have to do is put on costumes find where she lives beat her ass burn her house down and make threats over the phone untl she mysteriously wants to quit that's all..... Get what i'm saying?

  • Yeah niggers hate us just as much as we hate them ,,,, then the jews should take all the token niggers out of our white T.V shows AND our T,V adds FUCK THEM

  • If whites werent forced to hire unqualified blacks under special treatment laws that white woman would not even want that job.Racist Black Fuckers.

  • First of all these magazines are from white people for the advancement of white people(LIKE THE N.A.A.C.P.) by watering down the true blackman and woman with those fucking jigga-coons like the obama's,the r&b and gospel and hip hop coonerage!Fuck essence and the rest of you sorry ass nigga's who help the beast(america)misguide the people of THE MOST HIGH!

  • @rainofatoms

    if you never read it

how do you know what it contains

  • @tony666ism LOL not literally, but in actuality it is not a magazine that has much value. By that, I meant it had nor has nothing to impart, so I know what it contains... bullsh!t. Pure bullsh!t. I mean question me all you wish but that won't change the content of that periodical... the "essence" of it is not quality material. But that's from my station of experience. To each clown his own ringmaster

  • @rainofatoms

have you ever even read essence magazine?

  • Who cares if they hired a caucasian woman?

  • Why do you think anyone cares about your opinions? Just shut the fuck up, tell the story and move on. I don't need color commentary from an idiot. I don't care what "would" have happened in other situations. I just want to hear about the racism and move on, I DO NOT WANT YOUR TAKE ON THINGS, IF THERE IS ANOTHER OPTION AVAILABLE TO GET THE SAME STORY I WILL INVARIABLY CHOOSE THAT INSTEAD OF YOU. YOU ARE AN IDIOT.

  • @baadshepherd right back at ya buddy

  • yall two sound so dumb because its so many magazines that wont even put a black face on the front cover... i dont think she is being a racist at all, its not to much of any thing that is made for african americans by them, so why would you hire a white woman to take part in a magazine geared toward black people i know Town and country wouldnt hire a black woman

  • Essence is racist!!! lol wow Pot calling the kettle black Why isn't there a law suit , just based on this discrimination? and discriminatory racist remarks.??

  • @carlindelco

Fuck you asshole! Your cracker ass would never understand what us black females have suffered through for years! Fuck all of you, your race has no place in our magazines!

  • @Shadowlit001 Sounds like you are proposing a return of segregation. You may find support for that.

  • @Shadowlit001 Wow what an articulate ,mature, insightful rebuttal.. Gee I wonder if I made the correct decision in being a conservative? Well and this is coming from a person who's home town is "batman" and occupation is "fisting" yes I can see clearly how you must be frustrated with your plight with all those credentials. Oh I see what;s yours is yours and what's everyone's is your too? hmm try being Just American.. stop hating how have u suffered? sect 8? welfare, food stamps? how?

  • @kjohnson1325 its equal opportunity just like the law says, i cant believe ppl hold such STUPID ideas. so wait if someone started "cotton" magazine, only for white ppl, and they had an ex staff person saying "only white men should work here, since its geared for them" would that be racist? RESPONSE "hell yeah nigga white ppl dont have 2 go thru the troubles we go through." its pure ignorance to say town and country wont hire a black woman.

  • Mainstream women's magazines have hired gay male fashion experts for many years. Again, it's just a matter of who does the job well.

  • if it's illegal to deny someone a job because they're black, why should the other way around be any different? if they don't like it, why do it to someone else? O.e if the white girls is the best person for the job, they should hire her.

  • so white women can complain all they want

but don't expect any sympathy out of black women

they are made to feel "beneath" white women in every day society once again i am simply talking about essence magazine existing in the first place, i have no problem with a white women working for it

  • esssence magazine readers dress no different than their white cougar counterparts...lets not act like ''black'' fashion for the over 30's in any different than the white one, ye, maybe a couple afrocentric peices which im sure the fashion directors team will be great at thinking up...but srsly whats the big deal. its important to note that the white women was actually hired because when working free lance she got a better reponse than the other black candidates!!

  • this seems that it's an affirmative action hire- only reversed. I am black but, it does seem wrong to deny ONE WHITE WOMAN a job in a magazine that has probably 90 percent black women!

  • @blackexpose But come on, ESSENCE is a black womans magazine now be real. There are plenty of black degreed fashion designers that should've got that position.

  • Denying someone a job because of the colour of their skin is racism.

  • @alasdairduncan sounds like what they did to us...pay back time...and isn't it a bitch lol ahhahahaaaa

  • @alasdairduncan i always hated the term reverse racism...racism is racism is racism...

  • @jahova10 Thank you! Finally someone who understands that! There is no such thing as reverse racism. Any and everyone is capable of hatred.

  • @alasdairduncan Man fuck that, ESSENCE is a Black Magazine. That move made no sense to us, all these qualified black fashion designers and you give the job to a white lady. C'Mon Son!

  • @birdhall31

Of course, the biggest question is who is MORE qualified. To note: That Essence is a black magazine, with black owners, that they chose a white woman for that position... Would that not infer that she may have been better than the other candidates, who may have had preferential view on them in that they were black?

Or are you actually calling the people in charge of Essence racists?

  • @AdamaGeist the owners of essence sold it to warner media around 2005 so it is far from a black owned company

  • @birdhall31 Are you kidding me? You're so racist that it's sickening.

  • ... all this proves is that god was right all along: Every one of us humans are way-yy too full of ourselves... and merda- to varying degrees...

  • NO, but SHOW THAT YOU ACCEPT OTHERS

if that has not been clear from my previous posts yet.

  • this is hilariouse:)

  • IF EQUALITY is what you seek do it without arrogance, do it by example. Have a black magazine with plenty of white women in it and working on it as a staff.

THAT my darling is how you SHOW you are equal. Not by making a black magazine that is all black stressing black women have different issues and they need a place for themselves. It goes against logic, philosophy and EQUALITY

  • @filmfelineadmin

what do you want us to do

get on our knees and beg people to like and accept us

  • "white women want their own magazine, what being worshippped by the whole world isn't enough for them anymore"

thats the main reason black women are so loud with the whole

    "Black Is Beautiful" slogan

because if we don't say it no one will

as opposed when it comes to white women

they don't need to say it because

everyone else says it for them

  • It can be so subtle. I have yet to read articles or watch videos online or on TV about how WHITE women are so beautiful, white beauty, white this etc. In fact something like that would be considered racist, yet black women have magazines, videos, online blogs all talking about BLACK beauty and black everything and how BLACK women are so beautiful. Does noone see anything wierd with this?

  • @INatalkaI A couple a months ago there was a study performed on kids. Black and White kids were shown a White and Black doll. The overwhelming majority of kids (both Black and White) said the White doll was prettier and smarter than the Black doll. Does this seem wierd to you that kids as young as 6 viewed the Black doll as ugly and dumb? In the year 2010? Could this study possibly validate the need for an uplifting magazine for Black women, who are seen in society as less attractive than WW?

  • I'm black and I love black folks n all, but things like this just embarrass the shit out of me...

  • its funny how black people are more racist today then white people i admit white people where realy racist back in the days but today deffernt now black people thanks is ok to make all black tvshow/music/fassion/ and etcetera and white people arnt allowed to have it or there called racist what!!! but blacks ok lol by the way am not white

  • @TheAgentOfDeath

white people are not missing out on anything by not having an all white_

they are still worshipped in everyday society

black women are constantly made to feel like they are "beneath" white women

yet people actually expect us to feel sorry that they don't have a magazine stating the exact same thing

    you gotta be kidding me

  • The bottom line is that the Jews bought the magazine and as they have done with all blacks creations (like BET), they start to "deblackalize" it or turn black cultural things into "multi-cultural things.

  • it is so funny that people don't think its right that white women who are viewed as more beautiful and basically worshipped over black women

don't have have a magazine to say the same exact thing

  • Fuck you fat ass

  • It's reverse racism, which is often not even recognized as such. If she has a problem with the job situation in the fasion industry (If there is disctrimination), then fight that. Come complaining that a white person got the job without any reason why that particular person is unsuitable except skin color, then that's usually racism. People are too soft on black racists. Tyt would have been clear and decisive in any other case, but it's a magazine for blacks so cenk says it's "too much". Please.

  • @ComeLeVent WHEN WE ENSLAVE U RAPE U WORK U LIKE A MULE SELL UR CHILDREN AND KILL AND HANG U FROM TREES DENY U EDUCATION HOUSING AND FREEDOM THEN IT WILL BE REVERSE DISCRIMINATION ASSHOLE OTHER THAN THAT IT'S JUST A TRIVIAL INCONVENIENCE FOR ONE WHITE WOMAN.

  • but you're wrong, you fucking retard.

Also there's something wrong with your capslock.

  • @9xxxxxxxxx The world isn't a Ku Klux Klan gathering, fool.

None of that even happens here anymore. You have a better chance at being stoned to death by an Iranian because of adultery than being hanged because you are black.

  • @ComeLeVent Racism without power is nothing. The reason why people are soft on Black raicists is because they have no power to institutionalize racsim like Whites did. Your everyday life is influenced more by a White man than a Black man.

  • No that's not the reason. Racism is 100% attitude and principles, not power. Everything else is a double standard, and that's not something i can respect. Either it is a matter of principle or it's not against racism at all, just some wannabe fight against white establishment power. But you can't have it both ways - talk about racism then turn around and deny whites a job because it's a magazine for blacks. Pff.

  • interesting, when you're fighting for equality you're all the same, when you want your racist magazine, you're different from white women.

Listen, I keep up an argument with an intelligent person, but I can't do it with a goat who just won't budge. I'm done.

  • @filmfelineadmin

i fail to see how pointing out that people are different in some ways means they are not equal

jews and catholics have peperate churchs does that mean jewish people aren't equal to catholics

  • @filmfelineadmin when you're fighting for equality, then you're NOT the same. If you were the same, then you wouldn't have to FIGHT for equality. The fact of the matter is that Essence magazine is an uplifting magazine for Black women, who are still seen today as less attractive/educated than White women.

  • NAIVE is a person who REFUSES to change = that would be you I9ois

and I bet my ass that you LIKE differences. Instead of getting a therapist you want to push this forward. I am not going to read Essense because I don't read racist publications, I like magazines that have ALL KINDS of people in them. GET IT?

Whatever issues -black- or any other race deals with - get a therapist for that, not a magazine. You use publication as a crutch. Nothing will ever change for you.

  • @filmfelineadmin if it was that easy then essence magazne wouldn't still be around and not all differences are bad essence magazine is a publication with a specific target audience just like any other magazine

is it sexist to use only men in a men's health magazine

or only women in a tampax commercial

was it racist for chris rock to use only black women in his good hair documentary

when black women are the only ones with our type of hair

  • @l9ois it is around because people like you keep buying - feeding into and supporting black women as different

you like this, you have no interest in equality

it's like the grannies who like to complain about what hurts, but won't listen to advice

    period

  • @filmfelineadmin

black women are different in alot of ways and go through different things than whit women

thats not always a bad thing to be different

  • I wouldn't say that seat would be reserved for black people since the fashion director is not actually in the magazine she is only the director thats it so she only works for the company and is not in the mag being seen in there .

  • @strangereveryday NEWS FLASH? How is the lack of blacks doing worthy of mention things fault of these magazines??? They feature people of all races and colors. Essence or Ebony have no whites in them. Not okay. Black Pride is just as racist as White Pride. The statement "my people" shouldn't be used = racist. Calling someone your "brother" or "sister" = racist (unless you're related DUH) Seeking equality by grouping yourself among 'yours' is very WRONG

  • @filmfelineadmin essence is a magazine with a specific target audience just like any other magazine

bridal magazines, GQ, mens health, teen magazines

black women have alot of issues in todays society that other women don't

that's why non black women choose not to read essence magazine

    they can't relate to it

  • @l9ois so in other words a white supermacist would be perfectly just to start his own magazine featuring only other white supermacists? they have plenty of issues....

double standard is always okay with you right as long as it benefits you -

YOU WANT EQUALITY BEGIN BY EXAMPLE

  • @filmfelineadmin you sound very naive essence magazine's existence isn't making white women lose out on anything society still worships white women over black women every day

  • @l9ois so says a racist black person. Why don't you instead agree with me that ALL publications should feature people of ALL color and shape and form?

Instead of babbling this blacks need this and that. What blacks need and have always needed and deserved was equality, but you are not going to reach that by isolating yourselves into a problack group. You will reach that by being colorblind. Try that for a change.

  • @filmfelineadmin how ever i feel isn't going to change the way things are and that is not going to make my previouse statement any less true black women and white women don't go through the same exact things if we did then white woman would have no problem reading essence magazine

i'm tryng to explain things to you from a black females perspective

    these issues are reality

    you just don't care

  • @l9ois you keep singing the same song, nothing changes. People like you WANT the differences showed. Seek equality and you will get equality. There are plenty of black women in high positions, plenty of them dress well, have good salaries and amazing homes. No one looks at them as black, they look at them as sucessfull, because that's how they feel. If you feel different, you will be. If in fact you want a magazine showing the world there is a difference then the differences will never go away.

  • @filmfelineadmin you are severly naive why don't you go read through an issue of essence magazine beforre making these statements

  • @filmfelineadmin very well put. you forgot to mention that the TOP earner in the united states is a black woman (oprah). you have a very clear and correct point of view on this matter. don't waste any more time trying to convey this to I9ois and 9xxxxxxxxx because they don't have the brain capacity to understand. the worst thing you can do to idiots like that is to just leave them as dumb as you found them.

  • @amcalca1

i read l9ois's comments and i agree with her

i don't think she was refering to the white woman being hired

she was talking about the issue of there being a magazine for black woman

and not one dedicated to white woman

and the fact is, the praise that white women get as being the prettier and all out better women

    massively out weighs any magazine

  • @amcalca1 i thought it was bill gates!

  • @filmfelineadmin THAT'S EASY TO SAY WHEN U OWN EVERYTHING DUMBASS.

  • Comment removed

  • @l9ois and I'm just hearing blah blah blah blah blah

  • This video proves the people at Young Turks are very IGNORANT about discrimination against black women. I see two white people on this video clip once again lecturing black women about race. Give me a break! When the top white women magazines hire black women in high profile positions then we can talk!

I agree with Angela Davis daughter the way black women are treated as inferior by a racist and sexist society is offensive. Essence Magazine was created as a SPACE for black women only!

  • First off I don't think black men we have a right to speak about this! Essence Magazine is a black woman magazine specifically for BLACK WOMEN. Has Vogue, Elle, Glamour Magazine, ever hired a black woman in a top organization?

  • My opinion as a Black Man is split two ways now I do think that a white women in a powerful postion in a magazine targeted at Black Women is not bad but its not racist to think that maybe only black women should hold that position!!! Im sure GQ has no female fashion directors. Anyway more importantly I am proud that my beautiful Sister have built a Media Empire that even a White Woman who clearly has career options would apply for I think as blacks we should be more proud than outraged.

  • @tbyrddaboss313

    thats true

  • @tbyrddaboss313 ESSENCE IS OWNED BY TIME WARNER.

  • It pisses me off how they're pissed off that a white women is the fashion director in a magazine, but if a black girl wasn't allowed to work for another magazine, there would be outrage, which is stupid as hell.

  • @9ois uhhh she's mixed.. Michaela Angela Davis is a mixed woman nuff said. She's not fully black for sure

  • @EZ3Xicano

     what makes you think that

  • @l9ois She looks like a white woman!! A mixed one. She does not represent all blacks/Africans.

  • @EZ3Xicano why does she look white

  • @EZ3Xicano represent? another racist statement. why can't all people just get along? why do you your 'group'? why instead of belonging to a race you don't belong to just a general human race, in fact, even better, living being race and then treat animals with respect as well. Hitler had his 'people' too, did that feel right to you? Represent is just another bullshit statement someone uses to say 'my people' as if everyone ELSE was shit. You want equality, but you aren't ready to give it.

  • @EZ3Xicano NO ONE REPRESENTS ALL BLACK PEOPLE BECAUSE RACE IS A FUCKIN FICTION CREATED BY SICK ASS EUROPEANS.

  • @9xxxxxxxxx What the fuck are you blabbing on about? "Race" was never invented, never mind by a whole continent.

  • some people see it as a sell out and compare it to the reducing of what BET is today. I have ESSENCE MAGAZINE FROM 1990 and love that fact that all epartments are black focused. However this Woman is Latino and should know how to compliment the body of a woman of colour. Don't think we have anything to worry about, Essence models and guests will still look gorgeous.

  • Why don't you address the LACK of any comparable magazine for Whites?

  • @ScottfromTexas LOL white women need their own magazine now What being praised by the whole world isn't enough for them anymore?

  • @l9ois - says who? Black women receive more praise than anyone. Who gets to decide these things? Same with Affirmative Action - when does it end?

  • @ScottfromTexas black women recieve praise from other black women and men if we don't do it no one will

  • @l9ois - Blacks have been coddled for half a century - Black women doubly so. So, being HANDED jobs and degrees they aren't qualified for isn't enough? Where does it end?

  • @ScottfromTexas i personally have no problem with them hiring a white woman if she will improve the magazine thats great but people who say there should be a magazine dedicated to white women too either don't understand or refuse to acknowledge the fact that white women don't need one

  • @l9ois Just like you refuse to acknowledge Black women don't need a magazine.

  • @ScottfromTexas non black women do not read essence magazine why do you think that is? because they can't relate to it which is why essence was created in the first place there issues and concerns black women go through that other women don't

  • @l9ois

I understand most of the points you make but here's the deal: you say you speak from a black female point of view and explain how different it is and white women or people wouldn't understand that, right? OK, fair enough. But then you go on to say that you are sure white women don't need a magazine. How do you know? You don't have a white woman's perspective, how is it ok for you to decide this when you admittedly aren't white? Do you not see this as hypocritical?

  • @INatalkaI

i understand why you see it as hypocritical

but you can't expect the average black women to feel guilty or bad about it

when most people see white women as more beautiful

and black women are constantly made to feel like they are "beneath white women"

i remember my sister was reading an article in a magazine

and it stataed the same thing you are saying

about how it isn't fair that there isn't a magazine dedicated to white women

my sister laughed and said- (continued

  • @l9ois I don't know where you are living, but there is pretty much no separation between white and black women in Britain - especially not in beauty stores, because a number of the models there are actually black.

  • @l9ois In fact, in the NHS, black workers have the advantage over white workers. I know this year my family struggled to find a suitable date for a vacation because all my Mum's darker-skinned colleagues had taken up the timetable, including one man that took off a month because he felt he needed to see his Mother, despite him being able to do that any other time of the year.

  • @ScottfromTexas SO THAT 400 YEAR HEADSTART U GOT CRACKER I DON'T HEAR U COMPLAINING ABOUT THAT SO EVERYTHING WHITE PEOPLE HAVE THEY DESERVE I GUESS RIGHT BLACKS HAVE BEEN CODDLED U MEAN WHEN WE WERE BUSY WORKING AS SLAVES GO FUCK URSELF TEXAS CRACKER.

  • @9xxxxxxxxx Yeah, because every white man during the industrial age had a "head start".

  • Wasn't White - she's a Latrino.

  • @ScottfromTexas when you say she isn't white she latino your impleying that latino/a is a race which it isn't zoe salanda is black latina and often play black role not getting latina characters and cameron diaz often plays white.

As for the black lady they (essence) can't by law not hirer her based on her skin colour and they would be braking the law andb like the guy said they would've hired her purely coz shes right for the job which would be fashion tips etc.. for BLACK WOMAN

  • Michaela Angela Davis is white too!!! She looks more white than black lol.

  • @EZ3Xicano stop exaggerating big deal she has light skin so does latoya jackson she still looks nothing like a caucasion woman

  • and this isnt racist?

  • white fashion director at Essence magazine, The Madness of the Hour.

People might as well just give up even trying to make sense.

  • See this is why im bout to stop fuckin with CenK, he's turing more and more into a uncle Tom and anna's fine and smart, but she has a ditsty white Gurl attitude when it comes to certain topics. Cenk's getting too much fame and is progressing to become a sell out.

  • all these black folks that need work, and they gone hire a white girl? black folks sometimes smh. all these white owned buissnesses and the white girl couldnt get hired there? damn more black people are unemployed then no blks. so why not do blk people a favor and hire them? damn sometimes blk people make it harder for themselves, in this case you cant blame shit on white americans not hiring enough blk folks. their white the gone support they own first, and since its a magazine for blks,

  • @thesassiest why not hire blk people, especially since times are hard. i mean damn who knows black people more than black people. i mean damn white girls DEFINATELY will never know wat its like so what the hell is a white girl gone do for a BLACK magazine.

  • @thesassiest

Aww this is the American way. ( Hire a white in a black owned business before a white person.) We don't trust or support ourselves like we should.

Being that black women usually set the fashion trends...I'm wondering how is Essence gonna pull this off? Let me guess, pay the white woman to steal the black girls ideas. Bring It On...lol

  • @Sahbisun true dont white women always do dat? i know back in those days ww would dog black womens kinky thick plentiful hair. but would turn around and wear big hair(i.e. afro like)yea i hear negroes always talking about black restaurants or somethin is too expensive so they dont go, but yet save up plenty of money to buy a gucci bag, or some over priced weave or somethin at a chinese shop? will go buy over priced shoes and urban clothes from a chinese shop? the hypocrisy average negroes show.

  • @Sahbisun the preppy stuff white girls wear can be cute but i guarantee an average black girl could turn a preppy outfit frm lame to hot in a minute, ONE thing blacks girls can do is dress hell of good, and have off the chain hairstyles. black women are very creative beings in reality. but white women DEFINATELY dont have better fashion sense then black women PERIOD.

  • @thesassiest

Yep, we're always coming up with something. We just don't ever get the credit for it! I use to wonder why Princess Diana was considered a nice dresser...huh? I thought she looked "fasionably" awful in public the majority of the time ( R.I.P Diana.) Keep in mind we as a people have a different taste in general when it comes to fashion. Hence why a lot of black women DO NOT go to ww to get their hair done, make-up, or for fashion help. Victoria Beckam...oh please! *Rolln my eyes.

  • @Sahbisun yea true lol

  • ahhh thank fk i dont live in yankie land. So sensitive, move on people with race, get over it blacks! round and round you go whinging an whining and never get anywhere.

  • @fj1764 how the hell did those whiny niggers get n2 the white house but they r winers

  • you have to hire the best woman for the job.

  • @strangereveryday, Your post is emblematic of the problems with today's racial conversations. You use the terms yall & we as though the people of today were all personally involved in these events. It amounts to an accusation of your innocent fellow Americans,& it is shameful.Know this; no one alive had the slightest involvement in slavery, & YOU were never enslaved.

  • could you imagine if they hired a white man? then it would be sexist and racist

  • @19ois,

interesting that you compare Black People to a menstruating vagina.

  • @LickumBottom i didn't

    I compared essence to

other magazines with a specific theme

  • @LickumBottom I didn't i compared essence magazines to all the other magazines with specific themes

  • people who are complaining probably don't feel as a white woman she can relate to black women enough to work for a magazine targeted for black women

essence magazine has a specific audience like anyother magazine

teen vouge, bridal magazine, GQ, mens health

saying essence is racist is like saying its sexist to use only women in a tampax commercial

  • @JRiddick, I think the answer to your query is irrelevant to proceeding ahead,& is in fact an impediment.

Look, don't you see it yet? we can make progress as individuals working together ,but not as seperate races. This group -think is a cold dead intractable thing, & always will be.

You can't anticipate a meeting of the minds, if every time you a extended a hand of good will, you swat it aside.

Don't know what else to tell you Sir.

  • @JRiddick, It was with a sinking sense of dismay that I read your responses. It is imperative that Americans drop that baggage & press forward. No good will come & no transcendence occur,if we choose to wallow where we've found ourselves. We do have the power,if only we will use it.

    It is with profound sadness that I refer you to the words of a classic song;

    " Before you accuse me,take a look @ yourself".

  • @BeardedCIam Don't take this as a personal attack In no way am i trying to accuse you of anything i just make comments based off of what you type. Personally its easy to say such comments when most of the people from your community haven't experienced discrimination to the degree that most AA'S on a daily bases. But if you want to use the technicalities about assumption the same can be said for you. Do actually feel think its easier being black than white??

  • And about the haters. They will always exist on all sides. Nevertheless, they will dwindle to insignificant numbers if Americans of good will start pulling together. They will simply be swept aside,so don't be overly concerned with them.

  • @JRiddick, Ah, well.I'm willing to hear about any suggestions/solutions which don't insist on assigning blame for the past on current generations. We need to take a realistic inventory of the problems which are hampering liberty & prosperity, identify solutions, find common ground as fellow Americans, & proceed ahead rationally.

Only in this fashion, may we make the promise of America available to all who want to reach for it.

  • @BeardedCIam Yes we as citizens need to network in a rational manner but i don't think people are willing to because there are too many of them who benefit from living in this unbalanced nation.

  • @JRiddick,

I think if you look @ the statistics for intact Black families ( married) you will see that the incomes are equal,or nearly equal to Whites. This broken family issue is also an increasing problem for other races. This is a serious sociological problem, but not evidence of racism. We need to all tackle this one. The policies of AFDC & the family courts are a good place to start.

  • @LickumBottom i understand what you are saying as far as attacking the issues but as far as qualified blacks not being hired. This is simply a fact that cannot be overlooked and one that white people never bring up when trying to tell black americans that everyone is born with equal rights and that its not about race. When in reality its always been about RACE.

  • @JRiddick, Forgive me,but try as I might I was unable to understand the point you were making. Could you kindly expand on your remarks?

  • @BeardedCIam I'm saying is that there are many white people who complain about blacks complaining too much about racism and discrimination and that we should somehow get over the past. My question to them is how can we get over the concept of race and discrimination when people refuse to engage in dialogue by 1st admitting that racism still exist in modern times and secondly trying to attack the root of the problem. If we cannot do this as citizens a future post race society will cease to exist.

  • you people are going way off topic

  • To my fellow Americans who are Black,I have a message. Slavery in America, through the sacrifices of our fathers before us,has been dead for a century & a half. Jim Crow was a regional phenomena & was a long time ago.

Your fellow Americans of other races, & you, were not remotely involved.Do not seek to make Boogie Men out of us your neighbors,as are innocent of the problems you are experiencing. We reject it utterly & it degrades you as as individual human beings.

  • @BeardedCIam you say all this but we as nation can not move forward unless we are able to talk about the issues pertaining race, culture and discrimination. I was just watching cnn this afternoon and they put out some statistic that showed how white americans make more money than blacks and are more likely to be hired over blacks even when blacks are equally qualified. (cont)

  • @JRiddick16 IF everything is supposedly equal among all American Citizens?????

  • @BeardedCIam See its sad that in 2010 this not seen as a red flag in which white people choose not to talk about when pertaining to the issue of discrimination against certain groups of people. WHY IS THAT???????????

  • The only constructive way forward,is to relate to one another as fellow individual Americans & work together to foster liberty & prosperity.

This group-think group politics is a throw-back to tribalism & is dehumaninizing. In addition,it seeks to blame & penalize people for things they had nothing whatever to do with,& bestow gains on others which they have not earned, based on their respective genetic happenstance of birth.

This is unjust & ultimately destructive.
