Unlour ess you are paying for some sort of cell phone Data plan you may not *always* be connected and then your things in the "cloud" are just plain unavailable. It's nice if you can listen to your music/watch videos without being connected.

@No3225 actually it depends. if u want crisper colors at the expense of reflection off the screen, then glossy is the way to go. but if u prefer anti-glare to prevent reflection off the screen at the expense of crispness, then anti glare it is. :)

sorry it took me a few days to reply. and for my needs, which are typeing for skool assingments, internet, music, movies, and your basic everyday needs, my laptop works out great. its got a full keyboard with the number pad on the right, which made it easy for me to move from a desktop to a laptop. the battery life is average for a laptop, which is about 2 and a hald to 3 hours give or take. the widescreen makes movies great. all in all i'd give the G60 5/5 stars. havnt had a problem with it yet

First off, good job on the video. Takes guts to do live youtube shows. But anyway, 2 questions. 1st: I heard it had no disk drive, like it cant read cds and dvds. But i heard you can get a usb cd/dvd reader drive, but idk if thats true. 2nd: I was planning on using this for school, how well does it preform with Word, Powerpoint, Ect. but also personal things, Itunes, Youtube, ect. Nice netbook. there may be better netbooks out-there but...with a netbook you need quality of build, good keyboard and well made. Forget specs, its a netbook! its for portability and looks are important. Netbooks only need wifi,bluetooth etc..who cares for specs when you got a small great little pc. you want specs, go buy a standard laptop.

if you go to jkkmobile's channel, he shows you an easy way to remove the film (if its still there) but it requires you to open the screen up (obviously) but i think hp said that it would void the warranty to do this cause it was an error with the production of the netbook

Your assessment of the HP 1035 actually has more negative points than positive ones. In addition, I can't understand why you said that you don't buy this for performance, when in fact, why did you buy it? I believe that the functionailty of a netbook is mainly to surf the net & carry out simple tasks. The Atom supposedly was designed for this reason & save on energy. Storage on some models using smaller GB's don't offer a great deal of space. Mainly for surfing. So performance is important.

Hi, have you read about the little plastic that is found covering the camera? I've seen videos where people have removed it and the camera works much better. If your camera is giving you a darker picture maybe you should see if you can remove the plastic.

mostly I just use outlook and word. (hello law school.) it handles my school mail and lightens up my load coming and going. My eyes do get fatigued from the small screen, but I am studying all day long...

I have a Dell Mini 9 that is fine for what netbook is, but I can't STAND the keyboard! I almost can't believe anyone would approve a keyboard like this for their product because it's pretty much useless for touch typing.

That said, I'm thinking seriously about getting rid of it in favor of an HP mini.

You work for HP? I'm an HP rep and I just got an HP Mini too! I customized mine online with EPP for just $360! My only gripe so far is that the resolution on the custom version is lower than the retail version (1024x576 vs. 1024x600) and it has some distracting dust beneath the screen. The glare doesn't really bother me though. BTW, you can get the 6-cell battery thru the parts store for $154 (ouch).
