In fact, he was one of the original stooges before they even started motion pictures and he returned after Curly got sick as a favor to all of them. Joe Besser- now that's a different story. Even though I'm probably to young to remember how great the stooges were, I still thinkthey're great. The sad thing about it is (according to the made for tv. movie) when Curly was being hit on the head with all kinds of objects, HE WAS REALLY BEING HIT WITH THOSE OBJECTS. That is until sound imitation was invented.
