The new Krakatau not big enough to worry about yet. It could cause a mess locally but it's only a tiny fraction of the size of the island that blew up.

I'd be a lot more worried about some of the other, larger, Krakatoa-sized volcanoes that *haven't* erupted in a long time.

Vesuvius is sitting on the flank of a much larger volcano; the crater is the Bay of Naples.

There's a few other monsters as well like Yellowstone.

i'm sure the indonesians would have thought it was the end of the world on tht day. a gigantic volcano eruption followed by a tsunami? c'mon, i would hav thought tht too

most of the deaths occured due to the ensuing tsunami.

I'm sure someone must be wondering how a volcano can kill 36,000 people :)
