I'm pretty sure that the green part of tomatoes are toxic to dogs. You should check with your vet, but giving food to a dog that you're not absolutely sure is safe for them to eat is just plain stupid. If you really want to be nice and give your dog a vegetable, then carrots are a safe option. I hope this dog didn't get sick. Stop posting your horrible pet-keeping skills so that other dog owners won't think this is safe.

Thank you for the information on that site. I actually looked it up, and it did state that tomatoes are alkaline forming. However, that same site did say that feeding dogs tomatoes can be harmful to their nervous system. Irregardless of whether tomatoes are acidic or alkaline, they still should not be fed to dogs. This is according to the site you referred to, and many others I have looked at. Perhaps you should look more into that. Just a thought.
