Arrrghhh... what!? "James Bond 007 - The Stealth Affair???"
I know this is apparently the American version but the original i played back in 1990 here in Australia on my Amiga "Operation Stealth" feels more at home ;)
In particular, the sheer frustration that, after potentially months or so of time spent trying to figure out the puzzles and those minigames, I had completely neglected to get an item that I had no idea existed, save for a vague piece of dialogue that my young mind couldn't understand. And, as a result, the bomb dropped and I got a non-standard game over.
Ah I remember this game. Man it is too tough without a guide. A game of this type simply wouldn't make it in the 21st century. I especially hated that 1-pixel window to get the elastic band on the seaweed. So stupid, yet vital to finish the game. I didn't finish the game because of it. Only because of your video I was able to finally see the ending. Great job on the vid.
Hmm this game was a huge dissapointment for me. I did complete it though....
The plot is paper-thin and clichéd, and the game constantly tries to be funny , with no luck whatsoever. There are too many irritating action parts, such as the mazes, scooter chase ect.
Some of the puzzles are all to easy, while others are terribly unlogical.
When I was a kid, I never managed to get past that first part that ends at 08:50 . I was always taken away and 'disavowed' which upset me quite a bit and I stopped playing it. It's quite a difficult and obscure puzzle to start the game off on! Nearly 20 years later, here I am looking at the video to see how it's done :P
@beatchef Snap, I couldn't get out of the airport for the first few days I had it. I tried all the possible passport combinations and just got arrested. In the end I lent the game to my mate and his bro and they worked it out straight off.
I remember playing this when I was staying over at a friends house, I got it free with my mouse (strange extra I know).
We played it all through the day and then the night and then the next day until (the joy of being 12 and having no responsibilities) we got stuck at the electric beam door with the guard behind the glass screen.
Thats what I love about watching these complete games, they give you such great closer to questions that have been at the back of your mind for over a decade! :D
I remember playing this about 8 years ago (yes that recent) on my bro's Atari ST. But died alot on the swimming sections, and I never even made it past birds eye sneaking sections.
the sneaking sections are dreadful ,.. in the amiga version the rats dont start the same place every time so if u save the game in the beginning of each level its possible to get an unlucky start spawn location of the rats which makes it impossible to complete the level so u have to go back to before the first maze and play over from there
Omg Operation Stealth!! damn brings back memories. I used to love this game, still remember getting stuck for hours on that underwater bit, trying to inflate the bracelet.
This is not actually a James Bond game. This is the American version of the game Operation Stealth. James Bond in this game is a CIA agent named John Glames in Operation Stealth. Outside of a few script changes both games are the same.
That guard from the beginning looks like Mr. T :D

Good piece of nostalgia. Insane puzzles, though.

What was the problem with getting the elastic band??? Why inspecting the seaweed that often?

I love the music at 30:47. Somebody should release a limited edition Amiga-music CD set. I like the synthesized "ahhs."

Got to admit, the game did have pretty cool music, though

I LOVE how when you blow up the computer and knock out Otto, ALL SEVEN or so of those soldiers do NOTHING to stop you.
