@sublBS Same, great little machines. I'm running 0.30 flux core and it makes fairly decent welds for the price you pay. I plan to make my welding bench/table this Saturday.
@123gimmevids transformer? usually used more for hammer jacks and such but can defo be used for a welder too, have a search around hardware stores for them. usually a box about 10x10inch with power in and power out.
I use a Lincoln SP 125 and I use it with no gas, I like the look of a gas weld but I am outside most of the time and the wind tends to blow the gas away,
The SP125 uses 110 volt and I have it plugged into a 15 A outlet. and it works great. I can trip the breaker if I weld for long periods of time on the max V seting.,
I've been a TAFE teacher in NSW for 20 years and you're a great teacher, you explain everything well for the beginner and it's great to see an Aussie on the web! Good on ya mate :)
in canada standard plugs are 15 amps and the plugs for the welder or anything that produces heat is 20 ams probably because our voltage is only 120 volts ac
the braided wire on the earth clamp isn't attached too the clamp. Ohh nvm he just noticed it lol.

Seems to me that it burns 0.8mm or 0.030" gasless wire good, but struggles with the same diameter in solid with gas.

Good video. I'm in Puerto Rico, and my house only has a service entrance of 100 amps at 110 volts. How the heck can I weld with that?
