I'm not insulting the intelligence of people who actually stutter, I'm pointing out that AM's interviewing tactics disappointed. Stopping & starting, "um-ing" & tripping over his words & all because it's very clear that he hadn't the least interest in nor had he prepared for the subject of his interview. Agree. Marr is a political correspondent, completely out of his depth beyond the Westminster village. He's fine on politics which is the main part of this show, but an embarrassing philistine when let loose on anything artistic. Worse still is his arrogance - he clearly sees Tennant as his inferior. Big mistake with an actor who's much smarter than he is.
Well, I can understand him being out of his element, but Charlie Rose manages to bridge the gap between politics and entertainment fairly well.
I agree, Tennant is a very intelligent person, and if Marr is also, then the opportunity for a fine interview was missed. And seeing as my introduction to AM as an interviewer was this segment, well... not the best first impression. However, if he's politically savvy then that might be interesting to watch.
