Dear god, I'm pitiful. When you started combining the two beetles, the combine theme for GaoGaiGar played in my head. And it's kinda cool. But sad.

Like I said in the Iron Beetle review, definitely Hurricaunger(Power Rangers: Ninja Storm) beetle brothers. Besides Xenobine, these are my favorite ones.

No. The head is locked in by a peg on both sides.
