The GTR is ultra performant. I kills the Aston on the road. But the sound of the GTR is not even close the the magnificent one of the Aston (I find the sound of the GTR rather casual). I'd rather buy the Aston. Not a single nanosecond of doubt about that choice.

A bit too restrained in my opinion as far as styling goes. I prefer the broad shouldered vanquish. Even if it's not the best performing aston. V8 sounds great though. It's strange to hear that noise coming out of that car. Seems like it should be coming out of an Italian car.
I have driven this car. It's not a good car, I am sorry to say. The sitting postition is worse, I tried all buttons to get it right. The cars feels to heavy on the nose. The enige is not powerful enough at low revs and the auto-dubble-cluth gearbox is a mes-up. Sound is great, but artificial though. Looks are great, but that's all the good news of this car. I would not recommend this car.

The V8 Vantage is a luxury car, it's a sports car, it's an every day driving car, and it's a race car if you want it to be. How you drive it is what defines it; and it's cheap compared to the "real" sports cars you can top with it..things like Ferrari's and Porsche's are only one kind of car; depending on the model. But they scream "hey I have a Ferrari!! look at me"

what the builder claims doesnt matter when somebody reviews a car. I could build a car and say it has 1000hp and do 0-60 in 2.5sec but real it really no.
The Vantage is a beautiful car but the acceleration is not very impressive when you consider that you can match a 5 sec. 0-60 in a Caliber SRT-4 for about a fourth of the price.

I think he's referring to Jeremy Clarkson's supercar shootout DVD. The car's clutch did break down, but he also mentioned that his wife got one and it never breaks down and is an example of reliability.

My favourite car in the world!
No ferrari, merc, bmw, lambo, pagani, nissan, ford, porsche, ariel, hispano suiza, pontiac, bentley, honda, westfield, lotus, chevrolet, dodge, vw, audi, talbot, leyland, austin, mitsubishi, rover, detomaso, kia, rinspeed, subaru, opel/vauxhall, toyta or huyndai will ever change my opinion.
It's not the fastest or "best" car in the world but there is something about this I cant explain. A perfect grand tourer with a perfect engine note.

what the builder claims doesnt matter when somebody reviews a car. I could build a car and say it has 1000hp and do 0-60 in 2.5sec but real it really no.

Yeah and plus, the V8 compensates what it can't do in first and second gear by the power kicking in at third gear.
13.3 second quarter mile? The M6 runs from 0-60 in 4.1 seconds and it barely breaks 12.5. No way it's 5.1 seconds.

The Vantage is a beautiful car but the acceleration is not very impressive when you consider that you can match a 5 sec. 0-60 in a Caliber SRT-4 for about a fourth of the price.

One other thing, Ford OWNED Aston not built. Its not like Lambo's which are actually Built in the same factory as Audi's. Same with Ferrari, Ferrari's are not built by Fiat, the company is OWNED by Fiat.

A consortium of businessmen bought Aston lead by Dave Richards, Prodrive chairman but he has stated that Prodrive will stay seperate although still maintaining the already strong bond between the two that was present before Ford sold, Tata has nothing to do with it but there are 2 Kuwaiti companies involved but in a pureley financial and investmant capacity.

Oh wait, my bad. I had a brain fart. Aston is owned by a rich Saudi now. I also remember that the engine starts life as a 4.2L Supercharged jag motor, but is sent to aston and remade into the 4.3L we all know. Well, I guess somewhere along the line, its a ford/jag/saudi/tata engine.

if I'm not mistaken (which I'm not) Tata owns Aston. Tata is not owned by Saudis. Tata is an Indian company that builds heavy machinery as well as passenger vehicles.

No, Ford sold aston seperately to a Saudi Investor. Only Jaguar and Land Rover was sold to Tata. The sale of Aston was long before Ford put LR and Jag up for sale.

As a matter of fact it was. Prodrive, Investment Dar, and Adeem (2 kuwaiti corporations) own Aston now. I forgot Tata distanced them selves from the Aston, considering it "hard money".

Its been awhile since aston has been profitable. Its funny because ford put volvo up for sale and nobody bid. Someone mentioned aston so they sold it to pay off some bills. Then asia put a big red target on jag and LR. Jag hasnt been profitable in about 20 years. They make just enough money to keep going, and it shows in alot of the cars. (Borrowed parts). LR on the other hand is very profitable and in fact could have shed its ownership and went its own way.

I think he's referring to Jeremy Clarkson's supercar shootout DVD. The car's clutch did break down, but he also mentioned that his wife got one and it never breaks down and is an example of reliability.
Nothing is perfect, it's not strange to get a bad unit somewhere.
