  • yes i would say he was on a journey somewhere...but i doubt he was planning to cross the alps...my theory is;;; he was alone or in company, on some trek...came upon unfriendly locals ,(as you sometimes do,like in the movie DELIVERENCE..) & after suffering a battle wound ...fled to the high country to escape his pursuers.

no i'm not saying he was raped by hillbillies lol,,, just that the possibilities on what really happened, are endless.

  • he only went out for a kebab and got lost so decided to chill out

  • @masheenman oh no there is a problem with that theory, the people living in northern Italy at this time did not have alcohol yet, and it is a proven scientific fact that no one in their right mind would eat a kebab sober

  • If otzi survived this long by being protected from glacial action by being buried among the rocks, how do we know he wasn't among other people whose remains were swept away by glacial action outside the protection of the rocks?? I don't think he was the only victim of murder or slaughter. People just didn't travel alone for obvious reasons, especially when survival of the fittest was law. Maybe women were more valuable that copper and thats why he and others were killed and valuables were found

  • @monsterfifty7 Interesting theory. However to me the tools he's carrying instantly suggest a solo scout. Nothing to say he wouldn't have the same tools while in a group though. Just seems prepared and carrying everything needed on 1 person.

  • It's the remains of Dovahkiin.

  • Totally fake base on imaginations.....hahahahah

  • @strangerlover11 Yes just like your intelligence!!

  • @greeny202a oh thanks alot.

  • @trip247365-the very first major pyramid in Egypt is the Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara, which was built 4600 years ago (~700 years after Ozti). Sumer was just beginning to be settled (by that I mean through agriculture) around 7000 y/o. Ozti was from a Neolithic culture which also practiced agriculture and likely just as long as anything from Mesopotamia.

  • i know Otzi had his shit together and changed alot of ideas, but if im pretty sure the Egyptians and Summerians were before him and more advanced.

  • @trip247365,....So,"I'm pretty sure",better shut off M&M and try some history. For the Egyptians to become so advanced, given just allot of sand, and time, how long did it take them? Pre-Pyramid time to get to that point ?

  • @trip247365 Woooaahh this is waayyy before anything in North Africa and just before civilization arose in Asia with the Sumerians, the city of Ur was just being started when Otzi was around.

  • gd

  • so sad

  • @qaziz212 its ur mom

  • Im learning bout this in class i wanted to check it out'

  • my teacher mrs.mcgavic made is write 10 facts about him

  • just saw otzi at the museum in bolzamo italy, while on holidays in the dolomites ...fascinating story, incredible findings, esp. with all the conclusions they've now made with his dna... brown eyes, 45 years when died, etc...2 dutch researchers have now recreated him (as of jan 2011)...using exact molds and casts from his xrays/scans, etc...his upper body was much more dev'd than his lower body...

i was really intrigued with the entire museum exhibit !!!

    dorothy

    canada.

  • i will climb up snow mountain tomorrow, i'll see you guy 10,000 years later.

  • thumbs up if you have to do a paper on this and that's why you are watching this

  • @electronicman202 i'm doing an anthropological research paper on him..lol

  • @hellomoto115 I am studying it too!!! It really interesting, right?

  • Well, Otzi died right on top of a Tectonic Plate. I don't know if the video metions it, but, he had broken ribs. If Otzi had broken them before he died, they'd have healed, but, they weren't healed were they? If he was buried under the ice for 5300 YEARS, then he would have shifted with the plates. That may be why his arm is in such a peculiar position. The broken ribs could be from the 5300 years layers of ice.

  • They were far inferior to modern humans. In fact the net book he was found frozen to only had 1 gig of RAM. And the weed he had in his pipe was bunk Mexican. I know for certain they didn't have a well developed culture because his iPod was full of Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber. The Neanderthals listened to Pink Floyd and led Zeppelin. Hence they had bigger brains.

  • @canadianshit212 Probably the latter. IIRC, the Celts (well, their ancestors) were just moving into Europe at that time and were mostly confined to the east of the continent, even though they were slowly moving westwards.

  • FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!

  • And did people talk to each other at this time, did they have a language? Or did they only show what they wanted with they're hands or "body language"?

  • @laksemann .Of course. It's only 5000 years ago not 5 million! This man was identical in every way to you and I. The early proto Italic, proto celtic etc languages were probably already developing in Europe. There was an older language before that; maybe like Basque.

  • @laksemann tribel people in the most remote places of Afica and south America have languages. the Austrain natives have a language before they first contacted by white people.

language is one of the few natural human constracks

  • I wounder how smart people was when Ötzi was alive? Was they as smart as we are today or maybe smarter?

  • @laksemann Probably much smarter than the average person today as they had much more to learn in much more unforgiving circumstances. Making a mistake on a hunt or with saving food could lead easily to death. They were what we call behaviourally modern. These days people tend to know what they do for a living and rely on others to do the other bits and pieces. I mean, could you find food, light fires, make tools and shelters? Do you know how to identify poisons? etc.. They weren't dumb.

  • i didnt

  • Nice video but please it would be nicer if the names of the scientists were provided
