  • I always look for this in HQ mp3, what a memorable version!

  • Yeah, very nice arrangement by the very under-rated Andy Connell, superb keyboard player and arranger, from the lovely Swing Out Sister. Trademark chords on the harpsichord

  • ..very pooer...

  • Remember the version on Jools Holland when he sang it from inside a barrel, revealing pictures of wildlife by drilling through it? Or did I dream that? No, I didn't.

  • love it whats on the end of the stick Vic?

  • Really good song and he sang it well, really like the bit from 1.20 in with the stay free bit onwards etc. The song done pretty well in the UK charts from what I remember.

  • I still have the single CD of the song I found at Oxfam Kensington Street, that cost 10p.

  • We built this town on rock and dope.

  • not bad at all not as good as the great Matt though

  • Reeves is a brilliant entertainer (along with Mortimer)- remember the big night out gigs fondly before I left blighty in '93.

  • Absolutely croon-tastic!

  • Now does anyone have the vid to Abide With Me? My friend told me about it would love to see it. Thanks!

  • I found it here. Unsure if it's the whole thing, but it's a good long bit!

  • This is brilliant, it's a great song, and Jim's voice and odd little dances made it ten times better. A classic! ^_^

  • Nice one - have this single (which I bought in a moment of weakness when it charted in 1991) Vic Reeves & The Roman Numerals (who I assume are the two ladies in the red PVC)
